My first time ever getting a Brazilian, so I don't have an experience to compare it to, but I don't even need one! This girl is great. I never write reviews, but reviews are the sole reason I came to Kelsey in the first place, I would have never known about her otherwise - so I'm writing this for her sake, as well as yours. I was pretty nervous going into it because I wasn't sure what to expect pain-wise, but it was nothing like I had hyped it up to be in my head. It barely hurt at all, really. I think a lot of the comfort-factor has to do with Kelsey herself. She just gets right to it, keeps the conversation going and jokes with you; I almost didn't even realize I was pants-less and spread-eagle! Don't even put a thought into the fact that she does her work from her home, because once you walk through her door, you completely forget about all that. Everything is totally clean, comfortable and cozy. In my opinion, it's much better that way than the fluorescent bulbs and ladies speaking in a foreign language to each other while you wait to even be greeted, like most spas. Bottom line, getting a Brazilian is uncomfortable and the area is sensitive (and valuable!), you don't want to go to some chain spa where they hire anyone fresh out of a community college esthetics course - so go get your hoo-ha waxed at Artistry Esthetics, because it's (probably) the best place to go! read more

After experiencing two very bad experiences at one of the top two wax bars in Edmonton (starts with a B) I was so reluctant to give waxing another chance. After chatting with a friend who had been going to Happy Beaver in Edmonton I decided to give waxing one more chance! I was instantly impressed with the cleanliness, inviting environment, and Kelsey's (owner) great warm greeting. I explained to Kelsey how horrible my last experience was, as it left me red, itchy, bumpy and sore! Kelsey explained step by step what she was going to do, and how she only uses nothing but premium wax. Let me tell you.....wow!!! What an amazing experience. No pain, discomfort, bumps, or ingrown hairs! Kelsey also mentioned she offers spray tan service in her place of business and has a very talented spray tan special Specialist Samantha. I was a tad reluctant as I was leaving for Mexico in less than a week and didn't wan't to look like an orange. Again - Kelsey insured Me Samantha will make even my pale white, ginger skin look natural and great. So, I booked another service to get a spray tan. Samantha hit a home run!!! I couldn't believe the difference! I looked natural, way less pale. Amazing work Samantha & Kelsey!!! I will be going back to Happy Beaver for sure!! First time seeing Kelsey today but not my first Brazilian wax. I've been going for Brazilian waxes for 8+ years from the same professional. She was great, but the product and method was beginning to irritate my skin so much so that I had weeks of discomfort between waxwings. She used hot wax and linen strips. I didn't want to give up waxing, so I researched other options online. Kelsey's Artistry Esthetics salon came up with good review so I thought I would give it a try as I was especially interested in the method and product she uses. I was not disappointed and in fact pleasantly surprised. I'm writing this review about 9 hours after the wax and "the area" feels great, no sensitivity to the product at all. Kelsey runs a very clean and professional shop. The neighbour she's located in has colour and character for certain, I like it, although I admit it may not be everyone's cup of tea. Kelsey and he assistant Dee are friendly, professional and helpful. They talk about the products used and stress that everything used is all natural...basically nothing you couldn't eat (if you wanted to I suppose). This was my first time getting waxed professionally and it was great. Honestly, I'm scared of anything pain related and while there was pain (no avoiding it really), Jessi was really awesome and made a really comfortable atmosphere while I was getting my hair removed. I wasn't sure what to expect going in, but it was nothing like I though it would. I had hyped it up so much that I was sure it was going to be a terrible experience, so when I got in and Jessi started talking to me, I immediately felt relaxed. In all honesty, I think a lot (if not all) of the reasons I felt so at ease, despite being waxed, had to do with Jessi. Right off the bat, when she introduced herself to me and started a conversation, I felt comfortable in relying on her to the point I sort of forgot I was getting a wax. I booked with Kelsey a few weeks back due to all her superb reviews. First off, I should say I travel around a lot and have been to a TON of waxologists/ esthticians around Canada. Kelsey had done the best Brazilian wax out of all the salons I've been to. I unfortunately arrived late to my initial appointment because I couldn't find the way to her place - (completely my bad) and I had gotten up and left considering she was with another client. A few hours later, she actually texted ME - apologizing. She was so accommodating she fit me in the next day. When I arrived - she was very friendly and personable. So I just moved here from Calgary and was in desperate need of a wax after not being able to see my waxer for about 6 months. I was always a little apprehensive to try a new place seeing how a Brazilian can get quite uncomfortable. I booked an appointment with Kelsey based on the reviews I had read and decided to try out this "dry wax" they speak of. And low and behold, IT WAS AWESOME! Probably the best experience I have ever had getting a Brazilian done and I've had many in my day. Kelsey made you feel comfortable and talked to you the whole time and not to mention the pain was actually bearable. I had always had the hot wax with cloth strips but this dry wax is pretty wicked. Kelsey is very professional, I am so glad to go with her for my first time with my Brazilian wax, after I read all her excellent reviews from Yelp.ca and after I look for a lot of places and reviews, I decided to make an appointment with her because she was the best in the subject, she make me feel very comfortable and very professional, I didn't hurt as I was expected!! she uses a hard wax, she is very friendly and explain to me the process, I texted her to make an appointment I thought it so awesome because she can do that! Sweet lord almighty- Kelsey is literally the best waxer in Edmonton (and possibly beyond). She got EVERYTHING and for a stickler like me, who's been disappointed by sub-par service before, this was very important. Yes, waxing is a bit uncomfortable if you've never done it or haven't done it in a while and are rocking a lot of, ahem, growth, but holy balls, this woman knows what she's doing and will leave you feeling awesome. I recently went for a brazilian, and it was the best waxing experience I have ever had-seriously. Very clean, professional space. I had an appointment booked with Jessi, who was wonderful! She did a great job, was very thorough while maintaining a great conversation and made me feel very comfortable- even with my legs up in the air :p They use a non strip wax, and this was my first experience with that type of wax- between the wax and Jessi I can honestly say that I have had eyebrow waxes that were more painful than the entire brazilian! Artistry Esthetics has a beautiful, clean, modern studio just north of the Yellowhead, and west of St.Albert trail. Parking is easily accessible. I have had multiple Brazilians done by Kelsey. When she waxes it barely hurts. I don't experience irritation. The hair grows back in nicely; I don't experience ingrown hairs when I'm waxed here. The effect lasts a long time, and the price point is right. Kelsey herself is a kind and genuine person. You don't have to worry that she is going to backstab you the moment you leave. Holyyyyyyyyyyy Amazing! Barely felt a thing. She's hilarious and def knows what she's doing. Very kind too. I was nervous going to this because I've had a bad experience with getting a brazillian before but it was literally not what I was expecting. She uses a hard wax, so there is no strips. She said this wax only sticks to the hair not the skin. So I came out with no swelling, no redness. I even got my eyebrows done, and they are usually red and puffy for hours later. I found AE searching online. Great reviews and online booking so it was a no brainer to try this new place. Glad I did! Cute, clean and super comfy space. My esthetician, Jessi G, was fabulous. Full leg and bikini wax - thoroughly executed. Plus, she's really nice and we had great convo which took my mind off the small amount of pain. There is also a totally sweet in-house mascot, Bree. I think she's a brindle pug. What a cutie. She's also a service support dog who makes anyone (in addition to her owner) feel at ease. I highly recommend Artistry Esthetics and I'll be back! The skin care line that Kelsey is carrying is OUTSTANDING! I have struggled with skin problems my entire life. I have red, blotchy and uneven skin tone with dry skin and finding products that work has been a nightmare. Kelsey worked with me one on one to understand my skin care regime and goals and put together a tailored skin care regime with her new product line. It is a little pricey, but so worth it! You know Kelsey must be good when I will drive 5 hrs for her services. She makes you feel so comfortable, keeps conversation flowing and before you know it you are done. I am used to feeling a stinging/tingling up to a few hours later and yet this has never happened when I visit Kelsey. You would think this would be enough to make her stand out in her field but the fact that she is so accommodating really is the cherry on top. I went here after reading all the excellent reviews on Yelp. They scheduled me for the same week, and I had SUCH a great experience. I had never gotten a Brazilian before, nor any other waxing except for my eyebrows. I originally called to book with Kelsey but was booked with Megan instead and she was wonderful!! Had a Brazilian Wax well over a week ago - first time meeting Kelsey and going to this spa location. I've had hundreds of waxes.
