I made an appointment for a leg wax, then I changed it, then I changed it back and then ended up coming in last minute. And never once did I received attitude for my indecisiveness. Quite the contrary; I have never been called 'dear' more than when I'm at Grandma's. The establishment is clean and nicely decorated with soft music in the background. Nusrat was my esthetician; she was polite, quick and meticulous. After my treatment, she showed me around the spa educating me on what else they offer. Pricing is quite reasonable. I received an upper leg wax which includes the knee and bikini line for approximately $40. I do recommend Kaya Kama 34Ave location. read more

The women here are the best in Etown at what they specialize in, waxing. The type of wax they use is hands down the best and leaves you without any kind of horror story experience. I travel 4-5 hours whenever I can to see them. They are professional, clean and make a sometimes painful experience, a delightful one instead. Thanks ladies. Wow, I am impressed. Was looking for a waxing salon here in Edmonton, and decided on Kaya Kama after reading the good reviews. Well, they were justified. I didn't know what to expect when I pulled up to the tiny storefront in a strip mall, but once I entered, it was like another world...and a lovely one, at that! It smelled so good!!! Hemali was my technician, and she did a great job...very thorough and professional. For a sometimes painful procedure, she made it less so. I have been here a few time. I usually get the Hamman Gommage and a massage. This last time I also had a facial and cheek threading. I have been happy with a.l my treatments. I enjoy the atmosphere and decor here. Surprisingly nice eastern influenced decor inside don't let the exterior fool you. The staff is friendly and professional. I have gone to Kaya Kama a few times for waxing, pedi, massage and facial and the service has always been really good. I once bought a treatment package that included lunch and it was a very relaxing half day treat. The room where lunch is served is very relaxing. The spa is beautifully decorated and very serene. The staff are professional and friendly. A few people that I work with go here regularly and we've all been happy with the services and pricing. I went to Kaya Kama to have my nails done before my wedding. They did a fantastic job on my toes and fingers, and I was VERY happy when they fit me in for a quick repair the next day. I went in for a threading of my eyebrows. The staff were friendly and the spa's interior is actualy quite calming and more upscale then the exterior would lead you to believe. They pushed their other services pretty hardcore. I was asking if I wanted a facial about 4 times, given a coupon, and had the whole facial process explained to me. Admittedly, the facial sounds pretty good. I'm less impressed with the eyebrow threading though. There were a few hairs left behind and the shaping wasn't as nice as I've had other places. I'll be going back to my regular place for threading. but I'd be willing to try their other services in the future. read more

My experiences were very mixed. Booking conflicts: I experienced multiple conflicts with booking during my multi-session laser hair removal process. They had double booked one time and left me waiting there for over an hour past my appointment time before starting my appointment. The blamed the other lady saying she came in and didn't have an appointment but decided to still serve her?? They did buy me lunch for it though. Issues with touch up appointments: I was told I could buy the sessions (in my case, I purchased 6 laser hair removal sessions), and use whatever I wanted on a 6-8 week schedule, and whatever services I didn't use I could use for annual touch ups in the future (laser hair removal often requires annual upkeep). When I advised last year that I was done with the schedule, and I would be back for annual touch ups, I was given flack. I had to physically sign a paper stating why I am delaying treatments. Note that you cannot be tanned for laser so winter is your only option for sessions unless you are a hermit anyways. Here I am, a year later, trying to get my touch up services, and I have been BLOCKED by the owner Riti when I reached out to ask what I had left for sessions. I contacted her on messenger (this is where we have communicated since I have been dealing with Kaya Kama) to find out how many sessions I had left, she read it within a minute of me sending it last night, then promptly blocked me so that I can no longer message her. I would also like to note that these services are quite pricey, AND PREPAID!!!!!!!!! Aka, they have my money, and are choosing to ignore me. They beg people to leave reviews and tell their friends, but service is really just not great. Riti was very sweet and kind, but just doesn't seem to have business sense in terms of customer service. I would not recommend pre-paying for any long term services at this establishment. It's a nice spa, if you are in and out for a day treatment, you might have better luck. read more

I bought a groupon for this spa for $99 for a half-hour relaxation massage, organic cleansing facial, and a hammam-gommage exfoliation treatment. It was a steal! I went to the Sherwood Park location. This place is fabulous. Excellent service. I could tell that they really cared about their clients. The spa itself is beautiful and peaceful. OMG!!! This place is amaazzzzzzzzzzzzing!! My massage experience has been incredible! Shamim is fantastic! You can tell she cares and enjoys what she does, very thorough and punctual and I highly recommend her. From the outside the places looks blah but once you walk through the doors, expect to instantly feel the peaceful ambiance. All the ladies working there are so nice and friendly and welcoming, all that is important to me. Looking forward to trying other services that are offered. I came in at 3 to get a Brazilian and my eyebrows threaded. The esthetician who was waxing me was using soft wax. She kept saying I had ingrown hairs and so she left a few hairs there. When she left the room so I could get my clothes back on I realized she had missed SO much hair. A Brazilian should be clean and it wasn't. I ended up going to pay and telling the manager that I wasn't satisfied with that wax as there was tons of hair left. She said I could go in with another esthetician and she would fix it. I didn't get out of the place till 4:45. It was quite a nuisance as I did miss a hair appointment and it took 1 hour 45 minutes for a Brazilian and eye brows. Not very impressed. read more

My husband got me a gift certificate for a massage, facial, and pedi last year. I couldn't use it because I found out I was pregnant at the time. However, they honored the certificate almost a year later and the service was fabulous! The staff were very pleasant and the place was super clean. I got a gift package here that included a manicure, pedicure, massage and facial. At the beginning, I had to fill out a health questionnaire. There was a medical concern that I disclosed, and the owner and esthetician talked to me about it before I went in. But they did it right in front of other customers! I thought "Oh great. Tell everyone else that I have this diagnosis, why don't you?" I though the mani/pedi were alright - nothing to complain about, nothing worth raving about. What I didn't like were the massage and facial. The esthetician kept on getting the facial products onto my eyelids and lips. I've never had a facial where the products were applied to my eyelids and lips before and it felt gross. For the massage, maybe my expectations were too high, but I'm used to seeing licensed Registered Massage Therapists and assumed that there would be one there giving me my massage. It was the same esthetician that I had all day and the massage I got from her didn't really do anything to help me relax or help with my problem areas for tension. She used so much oil on me that when she left the room after my facial, I was trying to wipe it all off using the linens on the table! I can't say that I enjoyed my experience here and so I don't plan on returning. read more

WORST PLACE EVER!!!! I used to be a regular client for eyebrows and face waxing. Every time I went the next day I would ALWAYS break out on my face. I thought this was normal as my skin was sensitive. One day I got my full face waxed and ended up with a skin infection!! I had whiteheads and pimples all over my face and my skin was red and peeling off!! I went to the doctor and am now on ANTIBIOTICS to kill the bacteria! I dont know what she used on my skin or how unsanitized it was, but DONT EVER go there! Id much rather have hair on my face then have skin like I do now thanks to Kaya Kama!! read more

I Love this place, and I recommend Meenu for Brazilian waxes. Ive been going here for months (location near millwoods) for Brazilians and she made me feel so comfortable. I tried a place near by (which I wont name) for just a bikini wax and I will never go back there again. So glad I discovered Kay Kama! It is the only spa that I've ever been to that doesn't redip their used sticks in the wax! Ive been going here for almost a year and tried their newest location the last time i had a wax done. The only reason I stopped going was because I got pregnant and was scared that it would hurt more, but now that im almost a year post pregnancy I will be back! read more

Not a good experience, the pedicure was not done well and a uv top coat was put on over top of a regular nail polish pedicure. They didn't dry for hours and softened the nail polish so it just peeled off. The technician met me the next day and offered a redo on the color. I told her I was visiting from out of town and I don't have time and on top of that the actual pedicure was not great and I'd please like a refund. The owner Riti called me back shortly after, and without even asking us what the problem was she said that if I wanted blading I should have asked in advanced and there will be no refund, she was rude, loud, yelling NO, NO over and over, and I hadn't even had a chance to talk.. Unprofessional, rude and poor customer relations and service. It was very difficult to talk to her and a very stressful experience. Eventually she agreed to refund the $60.00 overpriced pedicure (which did not begin with a 'milk bath' as advertised). Not once ever apologizing for anything. Also she tried to type up a 'waiver' that would state that no social media reviews could be written...again unprofessional and not legal as she said I wouldn't get my refund unless this was signed. Lol It wasn't even a legal document and my daughter refused to sign, she was trying to help to get my refund as Riti wouldn't send an etransfer. I did get a refund but All in all not a good birthday treat experience, would not recommend and was not a 'Spa Experience'!!! read more
