I had called to book pedicures for my sister and I. They didn't have later appointments that could accommodate both of us on a weekday so we booked for a Saturday afternoon. We arrived and looked around at the jewelry and skin care products while we waited shortly for them to call us. We went to the back where they had the soft bench seating with pillows. The decor and colours are soft and cute. My sister and I were seated in the middle we were offered water or tea. The seating wasn't totally comfortable for my back but ok. The two ladies who did our pedicures were friendly and not overly talkative. It was a relaxing experience with the foot soak and scrub, paraffin wax treatment, and cleaned up toes and polish. The foot scrub came in various scents which we got to choose from and there were lots of different polish colours. My feet were left feeling smooth and refreshed, perfect for my vacation! read more

They have super cute and well themed decor. From bath Epsom salts to scarves, jewelry, Pom Pom necklaces, precious cards, dreamy creams and lovely staff. If your looking for something really chic and a unique gift why not take a look here at the goodies. But by and large they are most popular for their Brazilian waxes so I have been told. I braved getting waxed and I must say the staff are just so sweet, efficient, and personable. I like that in all three instances that I have gotten waxing services I have learned something about my service provider and have had great conversations with them. It didn't feel like a get in and get out kind of place. Personally that makes my day and makes the experience that much better. They have multiple kinds of waxes they use and as a totally inexperienced waxer I have no idea if that is normal practice or not. But when I asked they definitely were okay sharing about each wax and what they were for. The unique purple wax is their special formula meant to get those little fluffy hairs, dark green for hard wax, and if I remember they have one more wax. Rooms are private and the large washroom is perfect- I especially like that they have their lotions to use in the bathroom. There isn't a lot of seating in the main shopping area before you go in for waxing but there is certainly lots of take a look at. I have been here a couple times over the past few years and have experienced really great customer service in the small and eclectic space for both hair removal (leg) and pedicures. The space itself is pretty odd and does not feel very relaxing to be honest. The open architecture and mismatched furniture along with eclectic stuff for sale strikes me at odds with the great spa customer service (good provision of beverages, good provision of spa services, good results, good chitchat). This location is in the Windermere neighbourhood and is a bit out of the way to get to on transit (to put it mildly) but the trek is usually worthwhile as it does provide good services. I'm not sure I'm the intended audience for the jewelery etc. but the spa services are good and the staff appear to be treated reasonably well. When I've been here the front desk has often been unstaffed or empty when I've arrived for appointments, which surprises me but perhaps they've been short staffed when I've visited? Adorable atmosphere and very well-themed decor that makes you feel like you're walking in a trendy boutique when you first enter. I decided to finally bite the bullet and get my first Brazilian with Amy. The first time deal for $45 was a fantastic deal and hard to pass up. Despite the regular price being a tad bit more pricey than what other places are offering, I can say with confidence that it's worth it! There's no seating when you first walk in except for a chair by the door so if you brought anyone with you, that's something to think about. There's an array of cute trinkets to browse while you wait to be called for your appointment. The free WiFi is definitely a bonus! Amy was incredibly friendly and explained everything thoroughly. She answered all of my questions with patience and was pleasant to interact with. I recently had a total hip replacement and of course had to remove all my polish. Once I was finally able to start going to physio, I decided to pamper myself by getting a pedicure. I had never been to Frilly Lilly before so I contacted them beforehand to inquire about the ingredients in their products because I have a serious allergy to aloe vera. Elodie was super quick to reply and they checked all of their items for me to ensure I wouldn't have any issues. I can't even begin to tell you how much I appreciate that! When I got there, it was a super cute and cozy boutique-style shop. I didn't get a chance to look around because they were ready for me but the service was amazing. I absolutely love the set up with the bench and pillows, and the fact that they use portable bins. They also take the tools out of packaging right in front of you so you know it's clean and sanitary! I was a little surprised that the blade tool wasn't used for deeper calluses but that wasn't a huge deal. I absolutely LOVED the pedicure. The scrubs all smell so good, and I enjoyed the simplicity of choosing colours from a swatch. It's a little more expensive, but the experience makes it worth it. read more

The thing that stands out to me about this place is atmosphere. It's quite charming/dainty & well thought out, plus the customer service here is impeccable. I had a pedicure here, but I'll easily be back for more when I need some pampering. I appreciate how they use fresh basins of water to soak your feet in unlike some nail salons that use industrial jet tubs where sanitation is questionable. I very much appreciate how walk-in appointments can also be accommodated and how there's a good amount of parking space in the area. Their storefront boutique also has wonderful products. I'm slowly curating my jewellery collection to more delicate pieces & this place is loaded with affordable, original & unique pieces that are subtle, yet trendy & chic. I wanted to get a shellac manicure prior to a recent trip to run a half marathon (why not?), and picked Frilly Lilly because of their convenient location in Windermere and super easy online booking tool. I was able to get an appointment on the day I wanted, and even switch it to an earlier time the day before when a conflict arose with my previous time. I got an email confirmation, and an email reminder a few days before my appointment, which is great if you are booking ahead of time and maybe forget. The interior of the location is very pretty, with lots of pink and white, and their front is stocked with lots of cute jewelry and accessories. I was surprised there wasn't a designated waiting area, but it was quiet and there was one chair for me to wait. The only other places I have gotten my nails done were in home-run businesses, and I was a little bewildered by the variety of nail polish colors offered to me when I sat down. There must have been at least 50 or 60, and my idea of "pink" only narrowed down the field by about 50%. My manicure included shaping of my nails and cuticles, exfoliation of my hands and arms and a good rub with lotion at the end. My nail technician was very good, and took her time making sure everything was neat and tidy. The polish is perfectly straight and I am going on more than eight days now with no chips or imperfections (love shellac technology). I was initially hesitant because of the price, but given the quality of service I will definitely be returning the next time I want my nails done. read more

5 star review for waxing experiences here! Frilly Lilly uses hard wax which I love - No waxing strips are required. A different wand is used each time an application of wax is put on so it is very hygienic. The wax is heated and placed on the skin. Once it hardens it is removed very quickly by the esthetician removing the hair very quickly with less pain than soft wax. I first came here for a Yelp event and had a complimentary brow wax. I unfortunately forget my esthetician's name but she was great! My brows looked wonderful and there was very little pain. Because this experience was so positive, I booked a Hawaiian bikini wax (they have a few different types of bikini waxes) the following week. Natasha was my esthetician this time around and she was fantastic! She was very personable and made me feel completely comfortable. She probably gave me one of the best bikini waxes that I have ever had as she was quick, efficient and removed the wax leaving me in very little pain. You know a place is good when you are willing to drive 30 minutes for a service. I will definitely be coming back here. read more

This is the only Edmonton location of a small chain which started in Calgary and hopes to expand further. The interior is quite pleasant, sort of shabby chic, and lots of cute items to browse (jewelry, scarves, etc.) in the foyer. I was greeted warmly and helped with my debate whether to tint my eyelashes and felt confident in the decision to go ahead. Natasha, who had been there since they opened, was friendly and explained every step beforehand and throughout the tinting, checking constantly whether I was comfortable. While waiting for the vegetable dye to "take," she included a lovely, lovely, lovely (can you tell I liked it??) hand massage that totally made my day. After a little less than a half hour, I had darker lashes (you can choose between black or blue-black) that made me eager to dress them up with some makeup and take them out on the town :-) The specialty here seemed to be waxing - they offer five styles for your personal preferences, plus arm, leg, underarm, face, etc. There were also manicure/pedicure stations in the back. Lots of individual rooms for private attention, and a washroom stocked with custom labeled soap and lotion. Really a nice outing! read more

This was my first experience getting a Brazilian wax. It was very clean and cute. Amy did an amazing job keeping me comfortable and made it as painless as possible. I purchased their scrub and bikini care product which I highly recommend. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone who is considering getting a Brazilian and has been to scared to. Yesterday I had a shelac manicure done. I normally go to another nail place in the west end but I was in the neighbourhood and thought I would try a new place out. I found out that they do not do gel nails at all, only manicures/pedicures with or without shelac nail polish. Luckly I had gelish on which can be applied and removed the same way shelac is so I thought, 'what the heck!' The lady I had was very sweet and gentle. She was good for the most part but she didn't shorten and shape my nails very well and the polish was applied a little on the sloppy side. I have parts lifting already too. I also wanted a parafin wax treatment but that didn't happen. I find the price is quite expenisve for what I recieved. The location is great and there is plenty of parking. The store itself is very clean. Bright and has very cute decor. The pedi and mani stations are old school but nicely set up. read more

I've been here numerous times for waxing and was very happy/impressed with how clean and relaxing the environment of the salon was. However, I recently went to get a full face wax there for the first time. I have thick eyebrows and specifically asked her not to shape my eyebrows but simply clean up the surrounding hairs. When she showed me what they looked like I only glanced and they seemed fine but when I got into my car I checked and realized she took a large amount of hair off the middle leaving a huge gap between my eyebrows that wasn't there before. Really upset and don't see myself trusting them again. This is not an easy fix and I now have to fill them in and wait for them to grow back. read more

I visited Frilly Lilly at the Hapmtons location in Edmonton for a pampering pedicure which was $68. Totally not worth it at all. I would rather pay $35 at Q nails. There were no comfortable chairs to sit in. You sat on a cushion bench with no back for support. My back was so sore from sitting for the pedicure. You soak your feet in a bowl of warm water. Amy was my lady doing the pedicure her accent was strong, hard to understand. I'm fine with that use to Q nails staff. So for $68 I was expecting pampering. I got less than I do at Q nails. Short bad massage not relaxing at all. A scrub like I get a Q nails for half the price. Nothing extra or special or pampering. I was so uncomfortable with the seating the entire time. I know they have an old time theme but my back needed a massage after all of it and it was definitely not pampering. First time I left something like this without tipping but I could not justify a tip for uncomfort and a cheaply completed pedicure. I won't be returning to Frilly Lilly. read more
