I was in town for a wedding and members of the bridal party got spray tans prior to the rehearsal dinner. Maegan consulted with our group for a while before she ever sprayed us to make sure we were all getting exactly what we wanted for our individual skin types and plans that evening. She also gave lots of great after-care tips to elongate the tan and get the best results. I love this placeeeee. I am not gonna lie, I used to tan relatively often in beds (years ago now), and my only experience with spray tans were the machines you stand in. The results of those weren't awesome, so I kept doing the beds. Then someone told me about Jessica and Buffalo Airbrush Tan. I was nervous to stand with my bits out in front of a stranger, but thought, it was time to get out of the beds, and the person who referred me spoke SO highly of her. My first appointment totally quelled my fears and the color was GORGEOUS, with no streaks (she made absolutely sure of that). I recently went to Buffalo Airbrush Tan for my wedding last month. I was pretty tan already from the sun but I could NOT get rid of my awful tan lines. I even went so far as to try a self-tanner (DON'T DO IT) and ended up with horrible streaks on my chest. Buffalo Airbrush Tan got me in for a last minute appointment the week of my wedding and my tan was perfectly even for the big day. I did opt for the organic rapid tan which I was able to wash off in about 2.5 hours (just in time for my bachelorette party). I felt like a bronzed goddess the entire week. I was debating between two and three stars, but I just want to warn anyone that thinks that doing this before a big event cant go wrong! I live in Boston and am getting married in Buffalo in June. I came to Buffalo recently to do wedding stuff and wanted to get a test out a spray tan to potentially do before my wedding (white isn't really a flattering color when you're my level of pale). This being my first spray tan, I prepared heavily for the process! Exfoliated the three showers before, wore loose black clothes, and moisturized heavily beforehand (but not the day of). The actual experience there was pretty decent. I was 20 min early and they got me with almost no wait. The process was easy and I felt very comfortable being partially clothed, it wasn't freezing cold, and the whole thing took max 10 minutes. Reasonable price too. What I didn't like was that she asked if I wanted light, medium, or dark, and I said lighter the better. She suggested medium because I can always go lighter if I want but I probably won't be comfortable going darker right before my wedding. I said I just wanted a little glow and don't think I will want to be very dark at all, but she said medium was the best choice, so I went for it. The rest of the night was painless- not sticky, didn't really transfer much at all. I was on board. Fast forward to the next day. I woke up and showered, but I looked very orange. I did a second round in the shower and gently exfoliated this time. My hands and feet were really dark I had a lot of patches, my stomach was odd (I have no stretch marks on my stomach but this made it look like I did?) Its lighter right around my lips and darker on the rest of my face. I dried off and went to meet with my hair and makeup artist for my wedding. She straight out told me I looked orange. I came home and showered again. I still look weird, but luckily I can work from home until this fades. I wonder if light would have been better, but I don't want to risk doing it right before my wedding (I won't be back in Buffalo until then) so I guess I'm going pale for the wedding day! I would recommend a test run before you do it for something important. read more

I just want to start out by saying my spray tan turned out great and my girl was very nice! There are two small areas that aren't as great that I will talk about later, but want to make sure that is stated. The reason for my 3 stars is the prep and after instructions that were failed to be given to me. I was very nervous about doing this coming in. When I booked the appointment I never got a pre-email of what to do before your spray tan. So I came in with tight sandals and a tight dress on. So my shoulders had to be redone before I left, one way more than the other. My dress was tighter and no bra so my stomach and boobies did not turn out as well as the rest of my body because I did not have loose fitting clothing, which is stated in every article I read after the fact to make sure you 100% wear loose fitting clothing so it doesn't rub off. I also did not shave or exfoliate before hand which I read after is a good idea. I also had two sports things for my son after; that were very uncomfortable. If I would have known before hand what it entails I would have changed my appointment for a day I could go home right after. I was told to shower in the morning which is great but before I stepped in there I was nervous and looked up how to shower after a spray tan and it said don't exfoliate, shave or put a lot of lotion on. One article even said to not use soap the first shower, which I did because I just had to not smell anymore. I did look at the website after and there are before and after instructions on there but there was an appointment booking button on google so I just clicked that. Nothing redirected me to look at instructions on the website and nothing was emailed to me on how to pre get ready or aftercare. I had no idea what this entailed, I had to ask my friend a million questions because I was only told to not shower till the morning and not wear a bra or sweat that day. I just feel like there should be some sort of email follow up when booking an appointment on how to get ready for an appointment and how to care for it after. Being a naturally pasty white I've never been successful at tanning and don't really want to be given the risks of skin cancer, skin damage, and aging. I've tried automatic airbrush tanning machines in the past and they were not a pleasant experience, so going somewhere where the bronzer was applied by a person who could judge if there is enough in certain areas or too little was appealing to me. I was not disappointed with the method or results I obtained from Jessica at Buffalo Airbrush Tan. Unlike the automatic machines I've used in the past the Buffalo Airbrush Tan is applied in a well ventilated area with plenty of time between face tan application to breathe and converse with the beautician. After finishing the treatment I noticed results immediately, which I could not see with the automatic machines in the past. To be fair, I always chose light in those as recommended, and I believe Jessica used a medium tone for me (I'm unsure as my only criteria for tone was "not pasty white"). The end results of the tan after letting the bronzer set and then showering the recommended 12 hours later were very good. I notice some of the odd colorization on the rough spots (e.g., edge of hands, elbows) one can get with bronzers, especially the self applied ones I've tried, but it is barely noticeable when not applying scrutiny to a tan. Service was quick and fairly priced. You will pay more than you would for normal tanning booths or automatic spraytan stations, but eliminating the risks of normal tanning and the poor results I received from automatic machines in the past was worth it. I would definitely revisit if I wanted a tanned look for a trip to the beach, photoshoot, or vacation. Note: If it's your first time, as it was mine. You will appear much darker after the session than you will after your first shower. If you think the spraytan is too dark, wait until you shower, but give the bronzer time to set in first before judging. read more

I made an appointment to come in to get a spray tan before being a bridesmaid in my friends wedding. I am naturally very pale and the bridesmaids dresses were a light pink. I knew I didn't want to go with a self tanner or a place like zoom tan and take the chance of it not being even or orange looking. So I chose to try Buffalo Airbrush Tan. Jessica was fantastic! She was very welcoming when I first got there as well as comforting and friendly during the actual spraying process. There are different levels of color you can choose, I chose the light because I didn't want it to look extremely different than my normal color. Which I was still nervous about but I think it turned out fantastic. You aren't supposed to shower for about 6-8 hours I believe so I got it done the night before the wedding. You will look extremely dark initially until you do shower. Then you'll have a great glow after. I am in LOVE with my spray tan! I am on the pale side. I tan in the summer but I have little time to lay in the sun and also it's not the greatest thing for our skin. Buffalo Airbrush is quick, safe, and results are pretty awesome. Full disclosure, you may look slightly crazy before the first shower. Once you get your airbrush it is recommended to wait 8-10 hours before showering. I was slightly nervous with my initial spray because while I did not look orange (biggest fear) I just looked not myself --- 16 hours later --- I showered and I was golden! I felt like a million bucks! Not to mention I was getting great compliments of my "tan." I will for sure be back to Buffalo Airbrush. I am pleased by the final result of my spray tan, but my overall experience was not great. The woman who took care of me never introduced herself. I had a VISA gift card for payment, which was a very big problem, and I was made to feel that it was my problem. I got no information about the process ahead of time and because this was my first time doing a spray tan, I made plenty of mistakes. The person taking care of me really did not help me much through the process. Do not wear clothes you like, as they will be stained, during the process and afterward when you put them back on. While standing almost completely naked in front of this stranger, she did nothing to make the experience more comfortable. In fact, she was never friendly until I handed her the tip. I like the color I have, but the odor of the chemicals and the feeling of blocked pores, and the dismissive treatment I received makes me sure I would never do his again. read more

They say you don't know what you have until its gone. I was diagnosed with melanoma at 21 so that ended my tanning bed career. Luckily I found spray tanning!! For my wedding I decided to get a spray tan at Buffalo Airbrush Tan and was beyond happy with the results. I looked amazingly tan on my wedding day with no orange and it faded away naturally. The tan process itself was great too. Jessica was very personable and I didn't feel any judgement about my body or feel awkward at all stripping down to basically nothing in front of her. I have never used a tanning bed, for fear of the harmful effects. Every spray tan I have ever seen has been orange in color. Today I got my first spray tan at Buffalo Airbrush Tan on Hertel. MaryKate gave me an even, perfect color that looks like I just spent a week at the beach! No streaks or blotches and a perfect brown color!
