Wonderful service by the staff at the bar area! Friendly with great recommendations and good attitudes. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with lots of seating. Our food was delicious! We started with a charcuterie board and caesar salad followed by a steak and mashed potatoes. It was wayyy too much food for 2 people, but we brought it home. Can't wait to come back!

Great place for steak! The filet tastes exactly like a filet (which is a great thing) and the mashed potatoes were those perfectly thick yet creamy consistency which complimented to steak really well. The lobster bisque on the other hand was okay, with the lobster tasting like it was just defrosted. I understand we were nowhere near the ocean, so of course the lobster had to be frozen, but I felt like it could have been defrosted earlier/cooked in a way to get rid of that taste. However, in comparison to everything else I honestly feel like this is a small thing, and one could order another starter instead. Everyone was super nice, and everyone was really attentive always making sure we have a full glass of water/ whatever drink we got.

My colleagues and I had dinner here last week for a celebration! It was a great experience. It is very high end and pricey. We sat in the back dining room. Only a few tables were sat, but it was a Thursday evening. Our server was really nice, helpful and bubbly. She made good recommendations! The bread was SO GOOD. I wish I asked for more. I had a glass of the Bordeaux and my colleague all ordered cocktails. I split the surf and turf (shrimps) and we ordered two sides, lobster Mac and cheese and Brussel sprouts. The Brussel sprouts were the best part of my meal. The steak was just ok, the shrimps didn't quite taste like anything and the lobster Mac and cheese barely had any lobster in it. My other colleagues shared the seafood fettuccine in the cheese wheel. It was fun to watch the waitress make it! I think they liked their meal, they seemed pleased. Another person in our party ordered the pork chop. Holy Moley was it huge!! He also seemed like he liked it! Overall, I liked this place. Like I said, it's really pricey but I think it's warranted. I do like that you can make a reservation and they have parking.

Kayland at the reception desk was very nice, cordial and very accommodating. Montana took our reservation over the phone and was very helpful, kind and friendly. Kelly and Lauren were our Server, both ladies have a great personality. They are so entertaining but in a fun way. Their homemade dinner rolls are to die for! They also have a private parking lot next to the restaurant with a security guard watching over the parking lot, etc. Patio Area is really cool but can be a little noisy with the street traffic. All steaks are cut in house, really unique but that is what makes this Restaurant a step ahead of their competition. Artichoke Heart Stuffed Caps-Phenomenal! Their craft cocktails are SUPERB, had the Manhattan and Mezcal Paloma both were "Spot On"! Lobster Bisque wasn't as full bodied as u would expect, seemed watered down? Garlic Mashed Potatoes, very tasty and well balanced. Delmonico Rib Eye for the price was tasty, done the way I like it but tough???? We will come back because we loved the Customer Service and Ambiance.

Wild boar sampler was fantastic, however their lobster chowder was absolutely horrible, watery and zero flavor... Lobster was old or frozen for a long time. Unfortunately those are the things you remember. We also went on a Sunday, wasn't very busy at all but service was pretty bad, 30 mins for an app, 20 mins for a drink. 2o mins to get the bill....doubt I'll go back.

It's been open only a couple of weeks, but Buffalo Block has taken its location on Montana Avenue as an opportunity to create an elegant, yet welcoming restaurant. There's outdoor seating for when the weather cooperates including a fire pit that may be a welcome spot to wait on a cool day. From the outside, with the brick and iron fence with the dinner menu displayed as enticement, to the inside, with its skylights, dark wood and warm atmosphere, Buffalo Block matches that vibe with spectacular service and food. I started with a cup of the french onion soup. It came in the cutest small cast iron pot with lid, and overflowed with cheese and caramelized onion. The broth, the base ingredient, was bland, missing that ever so slight acidic flavor. After the requisite "how is it?" and my not-so-requisite reply, the manager (who happened to be tending bar), provided me a second serving where the broth, although improved with more depth in flavor, wasn't quite there. That they went out of their way to make that adjustment and send another serving, was impressive. The steak, a small filet, classically presented, cooked beautifully, had a smoky sear. It was tender enough to barely require a knife. Like many places in this category of restaurant, the entree is served alone. Any accompaniments are ala carte. I rather prefer that, as it ensures I don't overwhelm my taste buds in advance of the main event. Buffalo Block is a special occasion spot, catering to that market, with price points not for the faint-of-heart, at least on the entree dinner menu. The service is attentive but not overbearing. It's a nice addition to Montana Ave.

All I can say is you will not be disappointed if you like meat! We really enjoyed the dry and wet aged steaks and lobster Mac and cheese! The wild game platter was a must try and we liked having the chance to try so many kinds of meat. Even the sausages were amazing!

We had a great brunch here. Creative options but not crazy expensive. We were probably underdressed but they didn't mind!

Amazing dinner. Expensive. But the quality is best in town. Butter aged beef is the way to go.

Great meal but a tad pricey for what it was. Service was friendly, but a little slow. I suspect the kitchen was backed up.

So with that in mind I ordered delivery from Guadalajara for some Camarones a La Diabla, a dish I order regularly. I don't want to go into these things with assumptions or negative expectations but this is not the first time I've been in Montana and Billings specifically. I have found gems in places I wouldn't have expected, but Billings has so far not been one of those places. This was not bad, but it was not good either. The sauce is very clearly ketchup based and it was hard to get past the strong ketchup flavor. It is not unheard of to make Diabla sauce using ketchup. It also isn't the best way to make a Diabla sauce IMHO but it can work. This sauce did have good heat, nothing crazy but the heat was there. There was also some other good flavors including a roasted/char character that was nice. I just had a hard time getting past the sweetness and very distinct ketchup flavor. A little too much of a tangy sweet flavor for me. The shrimp were nice size, cooked decently (I try not to judge too much on shrimp when it is delivery, but this was better than average) and enough that I'm not going to complain about portion size. The other items for the dish, rice, refried beans, salad, pico, and guacamole were all pretty good. I had them hold the sour cream. I also ordered chips and salsa which was a let down. The chips were dry aged, er, I mean stale and the salsa was very very very bland.

We chose the upstairs mezzanine, which was super cozy. Our server was AMAZING, she helped us decide which appetizers and drinks to order. We ended up ordering Rocky Mountain oysters, which my husband loved. It wasn't my favorite but they taste like chicken and they were super tender so if that's your thing then you should definitely order them. We both got New York's and they were perfectly cooked. The sides were amazing and the prosecco was some of the best I've ever had. 100% recommend this place. The ribeye was great and the baked potato was better than the mashed potatoes, but both were normal. The New York strip was cooked to perfection. We paired the steaks with a bottle of cab sav, and I do think they should look for some better wines at the price paid, but they are likely catering to out of towers. The service was just okay, but seems like they may need better training for servers and table bussers, as it didn't seem like their fault they just didn't know best practice. Overall, good food and experience but probably not completely worth the price. Still 5 stars because it was tasty and nice to sit outside even downtown.
