Our food was GREAT, but the service was lacking. We asked numerous times about refills before I finally got up and got our table drinks. It was an issue all around us too. The food was good. I got a two meat plate with pulled pork and brisket, the sides were nothing special. My husband got pulled pork sandwich with fries. He said the fries tasted like they had been fried twice and then sat around for awhile. However, the organization of this place is non existent. They didn't seem to have a "waiting" system when they didn't have open tables or only some of the waitstaff followed it. They also didn't have a hostess or host, so the wait staff was not only trying to take care of their tables, but also help customers close out their check and somehow so take out. A must for us every time we are in Broken Bow, typically once a month. I have to admit the first time we went there we weren't sure if we wanted to stay because it's just the two of us and the dining area is open and very family friendly. So we sat at the bar and ate there. Now the bar and the patio are our favorite spots. The food is great, the choices of beer are the best in town. We had great service and a great meal. My brisket was tender and flavorful. My wife's pork sandwich with coleslaw was great. The mac and cheese was not my cup of tea. It was very sticky. The only thing I would have to say wasn't very good is the menus were hard to read as some of them seemed to be worn out. I know it seems petty, but it's hard to order when you can't read them. This place charges you so many taxes . State tax, large party tax (I only had a party of 3) , and they also charge you county and AB tax . He started out with the alien amber beer and the light cold tangerine we both were delicious. I got the buffalo burger which was excellent and my husband got the holy smokes cup chopped brisket which was also delicious. The waitress was super sweet and the atmosphere was fun and we sat outside which was shaded and enjoyable . Just FYI if you pay with a credit card there is a service fee so pay with cash if you can. I read the reviews and think that I had a "one off" horrid experience. My guess is that this place is normally good. I had a very bad experience. Ordered a beer and asked her to bring another anytime my glass was half full. Oopsie. First beer arrived 20 minutes later (after I had been back to the bar twice). Immediately order the 2nd beer. We tried the Buffalo Grill last year, and after taking our orders the waitress told us that they'd run out of propane and wouldn't be able to serve our food for an hour. We decided to give it another try and this time waited for 30 minutes while there were 6 tables in view that just needed to be cleaned off. Finally we asked and were allowed to clean off our own table and seat ourselves. None of the tables were ever cleaned off by the staff before we left. We won't be back. read more
