I went here yesterday for the first time just to do the Blazin' Challenge as part of my cheat meal and was blown away how well mannered the staff were of politeness of calling me Sr, twice from the manager and a few times from the staff that waited on me. The wings were cooked perfectly, and the sauce tasted deliciously flavorful, and had spice to it that the normal average person wouldn't be able to handle, but for someone who is a chilihead can. While I was doing the challenge it wasn't busy at all as there wasn't a lot of customers that were there yet and it was noon when I got there. I stuck around for about an hour after I did the challenge as I was doing challenge products from the organization that I am with called League of Fire, which is a organization that holds pepper eating competitions all around the world and has spicy food challenge products from producers around the world. Cooking service was on point as I told the server to have them take their time with the wings. I didn't look at what time it was but it felt like they got my wings out in about 7 minutes flat as I was setting things up to livestream me doing the challenge as well doing the League of Fire challenge products. While I was still around, the server that I had came by more then a few times and asked if I wanted anything, showing that they still noticed that I was still there which is good for a place to do. I don't normally write reviews, but this experience was rough. I came in for something super simple -- a salad and a sandwich. Nothing complicated, nothing that should take long. Instead, I ended up sitting there for over 30 minutes waiting. Waitress was super nice, and checked in a lot which at least made the experience a little better. When the food finally showed up, the food itself did not even taste that good or worth the wait at all. We had a really positive experience at this Buffalo Wild Wings while on a quick trip through Erie. We got seated quickly, they gave us a fairly secluded spot based on our request, and the service was excellent. Our server was extremely attentive, interacted really well with our young kids, and ensured our food experience was great. WOW! We've had 2 incredible experiences here, and both times it was during a mad dinner rush. Food quality is exceptional, our servers were both friendly and attentive, and the tv coverage for sports is excellent. Not only that, the price point is unbelievably fair. Another trip to BWW within a few weeks; this time in Erie during a hockey tournament. They were on a wait when my family arrived. We were told 20 minutes, and it ended up being pretty close to that. So thumbs up for being accurate when I have starving kiddos. We were a party of 6 (2 were kiddos under 10). 3 adults ordered the Nashville chicken hot sandwich, got a kiddo wing order for my youngest, and split 20 wings with my 9 year old (5 Wild, 5 Mango Hab, 5 Medium, 5 Mild). It was fantastic! They kept the wings separate and tagged so I could easily transfer the Med/Milds to my son. He loved them. Food was on point with the last BWW I went to, service was excellent, and 3 buck goose island 22oz'ers....what's not to love about that?!?!? Everyone was very happy with their food. My kid does like hot chicken wings elsewhere, but at BWW, stick around the medium range for a comparison to the typical red hot/butter mix. It was the first time my in-laws had been to a BWW, and, they liked it so much they went back for lunch the next day. As I said last review, I do like to knock on chains quite a bit, but I can't help but really enjoy this one. It was fantastic! This location was just as good as the last one I reviewed. Been going here for years. My wife and I loved it. Met a bunch of the waiters, staff etc. Best manager overall is Willy. Simply takes care of things and always leaves us with a smile. Another great waiter is Jeff, for the record. Our encounter today (6 November 2019) ruined all of that. I've never been more disrespected in my entire life, by our waiter. To anyone Considering this place, I'd say look towards Cheddars (in same plaza). It's a shame to have to find a new place for my wife and I to go out for date night, but I will not let this encounter slide. I'm always respectful, as I know there job is not always easy, but this went way overboard. Proceed with caution, as you don't know who will be serving you when you go. Buffalo Wild Wings on Interchange Road in Erie, Pa. Don't believe this is legal. They charged me an 18% gratuity on a to go order PRIOR to me receiving my order! Said it was their policy on groups over 8. This is not posted conspicuously nor are you made aware of their "policy". How many people end up tipping in addition to having their bill covertly bumped up by this alleged policy? May well be grounds for a class action endeavor. The tip is a CHOICE determined by the customer, not a purchase determined by the merchant. Few issues with all this: 1.) I was not part of the "group" they thought, simply sitting very nearby. 2.) I was given a bill (with 18% gratuity added) before I ever received my food. How can you charge me a tip on goods or services I have not received? ON A "TO GO" ORDER! 3.) When my "to go" order did finally come out and was brought to me, it was somebody else's AND it was incorrect for what they had wanted! When the other customer pointed out the error in their order, the waitress argued with them as to what they had said. Entertaining, yes. Professional, not hardly. 4.) Had manager (or someone they said was a manager) come out and accuse me of refusing to pay my bill. Only issue with that was there was already CASH on the table to cover my drink and food (food was to go), PLUS what I felt was a tip that was warranted. The restaurant does NOT determine the tip, the CUSTOMER does! 5.) By the way, the service was less than stellar (probably because she figured she was "guaranteed" an 18% tip) and I probably over tipped giving 10% on my total bill. The portion of my bill consumed on site I actually tipped at over 20%, which looking back was too much. All in all, food far less than average. Waitress and "manager" rude, stand-off ish, and unapologetic. WATCH YOUR BILL, they are ripping you off! I gave them one star only because it doesn't let you give them none.
