We go to the The Park Tavern for their wings which are tasty and good sized. The Buffalo Ranch have a wonderful flavor and the Herbies are just the right amount of hot. The place is run down and needs updating and everyone there including the owner needs customer service training. It's a seat yourself restaurant so we sat at a larger table waiting for the rest of our party to enter the restaurant. The owner questioned our seating, mind you the place is empty on Tuesday evening! The bartender is hurried and didn't offer any recommendations when asked. By far, hands down the best wings in Erie. Lots of interesting flavors--old bay among the best in my opinion. But if you're looking for traditional wings, Buffalo style, Park is the place to get them. Throw in a cold Blue Light and you're all set. Atmosphere is nothing fancy--classic dive bar. DO NOT waste your money at this place. Visiting from out of town and heard about their wings. Well I can tell you that while some may rave about them, I ended up with some salty wings and when I brought it up, my server said "ok" then walked away. We had a larger large party, she never came back and asked anyone if they needed a refill or anything else. I went looking for the manager which the bartender told me she was, but then our server who did come to drop the bill( said she had no authority to remove the charge for my wings, nor did she ask if id like something else, said the manager was not there so there was nothing that could be done about the bill. Do not.. do not bother spending your money here. You can read other recent reviews that people have left, I wish i would have before allowing my local friends to take me here(I'm visiting from Florida) to this shit hole of a place. There's so many good restaurant's in this area, this place is not one of them. I wish you could give this rating 0 starts, because they don't deserve a single star. read more

Disgusting and gross!! The owner was short on cooks so he was running and cooking in the kitchen then went into the ladies restroom with his cooking apron on to fix a toilet. We will NEVER go back and I would never suggest to anyone I know to ever go there to eat. read more

We had a party of eight and every thing we ordered was terrible. This was our first visit and do intend to return. The prices were reasonable but the food quality was very disappointing. The chicken wings were swimming in a sweet sauce that totally overwhelmed the taste of the wings. The steak burger was over cooked , had no taste and after two bites we found it not edible. The large pizza was overly charred and had a minimal amount of tasteless sauce over about 70% of the pizza. The chicken fingers were frozen sticks of beaded and formed mush patty. Our go to dinner of interest was to get a breaded perch dinner. What a disappointment.. The bread roll rather than biscuit came with a tiny plastic container of coleslaw that was filled with 50% milky mayonnaise. The three thin preformed fish patties game uniform only formed in a triangle and was totally void of any beer batter.. the plate was severed with a huge portion of fries. read more

I first started coming here when I was a kid with my friends family, and now I live out of town but it is one of my top five go to places. The inside is more like a basement bar with random decorations everywhere and a pool table smack in the middle, but the food has always been amazing. And I tend to just explore the refrigerator full of bottled beer. Like many other reviews, it's the chicken Wings that I keep coming back for because of the variety of flavors and the ability to order them to your level of crispiness. They're also always big and plump and I could never even eat a full order of 10. The salads are also very generous and focus more on the elements of meat and cheese than the actual vegetables so I wouldn't consider them on the healthy side. I can't help myself. Everytime I am in Erie, I eat here. They do wings right. They are fantastic. The hot sauce is so flavorful and just what I remember when I went to college in this area 25 years ago. I live in Pittsburgh, and most bars either supply seasoned wings, or their "Buffalo" sauced wings are subpar. It would be 5 stars but it is smoking. That's OK, I can overlook that, because the wings are so damn good. read more

This place has the best wings in Erie, hands down. The flavor list is fantastic, the prices are reasonable, and the beer is cheap. If you're a Behrend student or GE employee, you're in luck because this place is close by. This is a great place for a weeknight wing night - it's generally not very busy and there's not a long wait for wings / fries. The wings are so good I seriously salivate thinking about them! By FAR, my absolute favorite wings in Erie - and I've tried many places'. The servers are all very friendly and attentive, plus very accomodating. The other customers are occasionally loud but nothing too questionable. The main draw here is definitely the wings!! I've been going to the tavern for years. I grew up in this place and for many years or was a fantastic place. There was a little stretching life that I wasn't going there very often. But within the past 6 months I have some friends that like to meet up there after work a few times a month. I can't say that I've been terribly impressed. Every week they seem to be out of the same stuff. I was finally told the other day that I need to come in on Thursdays because that's when they get their food order. I don't understand. If you run out of the same things every week why wouldn't you just order more? I was also informed that their kitchen couldn't handle soup on Wednesdays because it's taco night. So if you're looking for a bowl of soup on a Wednesday definitely don't go to the Park Tavern. Apparently their kitchen can't handle soup and tacos that one time. I have to say that the service is hit-or-miss in there as well. There's been a couple of nights we had decent service and then other nights not so much. read more

Erie has great chicken wings. Elis, Fiddle Inn, Cab, and Park Tavern. Ever time I am in Erie I make sure to stop by for some Herbie Cajun wings. They fry the wings like everywhere else, then they bake the wings(prepare for a longer wait). This makes the wings crispy and tender, not soggy like some places. They also have white cheddar cheese nuggets, these are made with cheese curds and they squeak. If you like regular cheese sticks give these a try you will be hooked. read more
