The locations near our home area have all closed over the past handful of years so I was surprised to see one up there. To be fair it's Black Friday today and it was busy.... The wait times were honestly not bad at all, it moved quickly and staff were friendly. As far as food, we ordered nachos as an appetizer and it was clear they had sat out for a long time and had been forgotten about, and were then popped back into the oven with the lettuce and guac still on. The chips were stale and the guac was hot, and overall it was not good. For my meal I had the buffalo chicken sandwich that was fine, but I've had much better from here in the past, and this was unimpressive. My fries, similar to the chicken, were obviously left out and refried which made them very oily, soggy, and gray. The cookies were fresh from the oven and were delicious which nice. To top is all off we were given the wrong bill. However, the waitress was very attentive, very nice, and she noticed how bad the fries looked after our meal and apologized for the kitchen. We visited this place on a whim while on vacation purely based on Yelp reviews. The burgers are amazing, and the $12.99 deal cannot be beat! Our kiddos were begging to come back before we left Erie, but then we introduced them to Golden Corral (which we do not have in Buffalo, NY), and it was all over. I came into this restaurant with an open mind, but I remembered coming years ago and not having a good experience. And let me tell you, it was everything I remembered but worse. The first thing I did when we got there was going into the bathroom. It was extremely unclean, out of order urinal, and a clogged toilet. I quickly got out of there before I died of the fumes. My father tried ordering a beer but any option he asked her for she said she didn't have it due to the "holes in the lines" which I suspected was due to rats. He finally asked what do they have and for some reason she kept avoiding the question. Next we got mozzarella bites and nachos. First the mozzarella bites had hair in them, I asked my mother what it was and she said it was just lint, which is no better. The plate of unseasoned, soggy nachos had to have weighed 10 pounds. The reason I say soggy is because it had one small pump of queso as what appeared to be an attempt at flavor even though the plate kind of looked like the clogged toilet I mentioned earlier. Now back to the waitress. She did not refill the waters until we basically were leaving. And when she did refill the waters she kept flicking the water on her hand onto my leg which I did not enjoy. And she also kept touching my father's wrist for no apparent reason. And I was gonna let this place off the hook until the waitress commented on my attire. I was wearing shorts in cold weather and she made a comment along the lines of "Aren't you cold!!!" Which I find highly offensive. Tortilla soup, burger and a cookie. The soup was great as always. Top notch. On the surface, the burger looked good. Great sear and char. But as they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. The lettuce was fresh, the tomato was not ripe, a pale red color that screams hot house and picked too soon. The burger patty itself wasn't cooked right. I ordered medium and it was rare. The same issue with my wife's and daughters burger. I don't like sending food back for obvious reasons. An angry cook can pretty much do what they want. Id rather not chance it. As a bonus, the meat was flavorless. I mean it was a blank tapestry. The only flavor came from the red onion and ketchup. With prices skyrocketing everywhere, customers deserve better. Wow! The food here was so so so good! We where seated by a very kind gentleman after a short wait. Started with a fun mock tail the honeysuckle. If you've ever had the apple charged lemonade at Panera kinda a similar taste. Got the Garlic Mot Stick Skewers for an App. Honestly they where pretty meh but the presentation was super cool so I can forgive a meh flavor. They where 100# still pretty tasty Just nothing wow. Got the Pizza burger as my main and WOW what a burger! It was so juicy and the flavors blended super well! The pickles on the side where sooooo good! Lastly I tried a cookie that came with someone else's meal. It was a chocolate chunk cookie and was also pretty delicious. Stopped here for lunch while visiting Splash Lagoon. We where seated promptly when we entered. Ordered the tortilla soup to start which was amazing. It had a little spice to it but nothing to much and was on the creamy side. Wife ordered the chicken fajita quesadilla which was pretty big and tasty. It was served with guacamole, salsa, and sour cream on the side. I ordered the stacked to the max club which I really enjoyed. It was served with endless fries. We were the kind of tired you get from being at the beach all day and had just been on a Pirate ship ride that left the kids decidedly underwhelmed. So, when thinking about a dinner option on a Sunday evening in Erie, we wanted a sure thing. Between all the chains near our hotel, we chose Max & Erma's basically on the flip of a coin. It did NOT disappoint. I ordered the cola burger (something I never thought I'd order, but curiosity got the better of me), the kids had grilled cheese and daddio enjoyed a club sandwich. My family and I went to dinner there and were told it would be a 15 min wait. We had 6 adults and a toddler. It was 4:45 on a Tuesday and it wasn't busy, but they said they only had 1 server. We sat in the waiting area and didn't mind waiting until we about 5 groups of 2 people come in and all get seated without waiting. After 15 minutes, we asked what was going on, and they gave the same explanation of only having 1 server. (So I can only assume if we were ever actually seated the wait for our food would have been really long since, you know, they only had 1 server, and there were now 5 couples that came after us and seated before us that would get to order first.) We were recently disappointed in the meal we had on 2/24/24. we had soup and sandwiches. The sandwiches were good but the French Onion Soup was the awful. It tasted like dishwater. The server asked to replace it but I declined. She said she was going to remove it from the bill but did not. I was disappointed as I have had this soup before it has been excellent. I ordered off off the seasonal menu - shrimp pineapple with coke slaw. I did add sour cream. No ice coffee but they brought me a glass of ice which was perfect. Our waitress was quick attentive and a real professional - super friendly great service. Carrie from Durham NC was her name - and she was a excellent.
