I ordered to go because I was hungry and it was close. I normally don't eat burgers from a chicken place, but surprisingly my burger was really good. My fries were nothing exciting. The people working there seemed a bit zombiefied, but I still received my food.

Mash potatoes were too starchy for me (tasted like left over baked potatoes). Jen got tenders. Dry but tasty. We come here once a year when these guys have their reunion in Peru. Be back next year.

It was far from the limited menu and "See here is our brewery equipment" place. Researching their website, we were convinced this was the place to be on our "chasin' racin'" weekend. My companion noticed that the clientele was quite diverse. I noted that also. We both agreed it was a sign of a thriving establishment. Autumn was our server and she was a lot of fun. Conversant, knowledgeable of the menu, and attentive, she was just great. One of my sides was a Caesar Salad. It was copious to the point that I could not finish it when it was appropriately brought out ahead of time. As a diabetic, I am concerned about carbs, but the Alaskan Whitefish grabbed me . While my plate was messy, I peeled off the coating and enjoyed the nice tender fish inside. In Tennessee, corn pudding is different than what they brought me, but it was wonderful. Bread pudding of the day was S'mores. I had my fill, brought home the rest and my family loved it. Local history was abundant. The menu held an article on local history and the lobby had many historic photos of local interest. I took many photos of them for remembrance. Chances are I will never return to Kokomo. But if I do go back. This is where I will dine.

Nothing overly extraordinary but for sure a strong local favorite here. I ordered the salmon special, and it was really good. The menu here also had a lot of good options to choose from, so definitely a great place to get a meal while you're in the area. We came in on a Friday night, and I am not sure if it was a particularly busy day, but our service was pretty slow. The woman who I assume is the owner filled in the gaps when our waitress was slow though. Maybe just our waitress. Our food also took awhile to get to us, but when it did finally come out it was pretty good. It's a great spot to come in for dinner if you are visiting the area. The town is small but the restaurants here don't seem to be lacking on the quality of their food! Will definitely come back here.

The dining room was full, so we opted for the patio. They were missing two chairs from the table of 4 and couldn't locate more, so they seated us in the bar. The bar was dark, noisy, and had a dank mildewy smell. We placed our orders, and after about 15 minutes someone turned up the jukebox music, and it got LOUD. We had to shout to converse. Around 7:45pm, our food finally arrived. As to the food: The complimentary bread was GREAT! The minestrone was pretty good. The walleye was prepared elsewhere, in the judgement of the eater of the walleye. The ribs were overly peppered. The fried chicken was fine (the menu warns that fried chicken takes 14 minutes {an oddly specific number} to prepare, not an hour). The mashed potatoes were pasty and bland, served without gravy. Not even salt and butter could make them worth shoveling into my mouth. The rice pilaf was okay, pretty similar to Uncle Ben's instant. The baked potato was too hard to eat. The fries were so-so. The cobb salad wasn't worth ordering again. I wouldn't go back for that food, even on a slow day when we can eat in the dining room or on the patio and the kitchen is faster. And I think we will remember why, for many more years. But hey: if you want to go drink beer and watch minor league baseball and indoor field hockey and go home with a headache, the Lakehouse is your spot!
