Second, I brought the car home to my mechanic a week later and just 1 outer tie rod needed to be done. The car had just been inspected a few months so we knew the other stuff was probably fine even before double-checking. I feel like they were trying to take advantage of a naive college kid. I recently have returned from thanksgiving break on 11/2 WITH NO CAR. MY CAR BROKE DOWN IN NEW YORK CITY AND I AM WITHOUT A CAR ENTIRELY THANKS TO A&R!!! Unlike many of the local auto service shops that make you wait forever and attempt to seduce you with free coffee, these guys get right down to business. Best of all, they're honest. I walked in on a busy Monday morning and asked to have my tires looked at, since they were at least five years old. The owner, Russ, was fabulous. He walked me out to my vehicle to show me that (huzzah!) my tires were only half-worn and didn't need replacing yet. (Had I strolled into another local tire place, I probably would have gotten the old, "Oh wow. You've been driving on these for how long? They must be changed immediately!"-routine.) But not Russ and his crew. The one suggestion the owner made was a tire rotation, which I took him up on. Service was speedy and the staff was very customer-friendly.
