In a nutshell, the mechanics are capable and hard working, but the owner/manager is untrustworthy. I would caution anyone who goes here to be on your toes, and if possible, to get a second opinion. During my inspection, the mechanic (a nice young guy) determined that everything was fine except for the windshield wipers. I told them that I had a spare set in my trunk, and the mechanic began putting them on. Then the owner asked me if I wanted them to install the wipers for me. I asked if he'd charge for labor, and he said yes (and gave me some line about needing to pay his workers). So I told him I could put them on myself, and mentioned that other places typically just put the wipers on for free. He replied by telling me, "You don't understand how this works...," and tried to trick me into believing that I needed to let his mechanic install the wipers. So I told him that if needed, he could fail the car and back it out of the garage so I could install the wipers. Then we could pull it back in and he could pass it. Now, realizing that he would just be making more work for himself, he simply let me put the wipers on. When paying, I told him that I would keep this experience in mind the next time I needed a mechanic. This visit was a small matter -- a squabble over a few dollars, really -- but it was enough to show me that D's Auto can't be trusted, and that they may outright trick you.
