I went into Build a bear Broadway at the beach to make a birthday bear (memorial bear) for my step daughter who passed away as an infant as I have for many years before and done pay your age. Never once encountering an issue with the exception of once TN made me pay age she would have been (if she was still living) compared to SC (same Broadway at the beach store) who usually charges me age she was turning when she passed away. I encountered Edgar (who apparently was a Manager) who advised me I would not be eligible for said discount because you must 1) have an account 2) it must be birthday month and 3) child must be present. I advised I have 1 & 2 but however again child has passed away to which Edgar looked dead at me and my 12 year old son and said I don't care if the kid is dead or not she's not here and that's policy. I proceeded to make my bear (the girl stuffing my bear apologized for Edgar's statement 3xs because she had just lost her boyfriend a month prior and his comment was unnecessary), I get to the register for Edger to run up to ring me out (I assume to make sure I didn't ask about the discount again but I don't know). At which time I stated I understand its policy but your comment was a slap in the face to every parent who has ever lost a child to which Edgar rolled his eyes causing my son to finally lose it and snap. My friend was behind me getting ready to check out with her two boys she snatched the two bears from their hands set them down and walked out. I will never again step foot in another Build a Bear Thank you Edgar for ruining a yearly tradition for my Husband and children. I will also make sure this post is shared to all my social media accounts and hope my friends will reshare as well.

The place was a bit crowded for covid standards. Seemed pretty clean nonetheless. The woman who helped us was super friendly and wonderful with my kiddos. Even with a longgg line behind us, she was all by herself, and she still took the time to be personable and caring during my kids first time here! She helped make it special for them, that's for sure.

Some more spoiling of the grandbabies!

A popular kids store found throughout the country. Great for keeping the kids busy and engaged. Not so great for the pocketbook though!

We were waiting to go to this location because of the size. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They did not rush my two-year-old which was nice. They let him participate in the process which he loved. We did get one accessory but the others seemed a little pricey. Over all we had a great experience and would take him back in the future.

The day we visit the Build a Bear store is when everyone else wants to visit. It's either from the residual "pay your age" promotion or its because of the location. Last year when we visited it was in June and very little people looking to get a bear. This time the line was very looong. The staff was friendly and nice. Overall, our experience with this store was good and no complaints beside the large amount of people looking to do the same thing as us.

My kids absolutely love build a bear. We have so many bears so we had to stop in and get us some new myrtle beach outfits for our furry friends. This store was big. Way bigger then the ones we normally go to. The staff was just as friendly as they normally are at build a bear. The selection was awesome as well. Over all the experience was what we wanted and we had a great time.

Nothing beats making something special for someone you love!

Even went to the outfit section and picked out a Gryfindor Scarf for my stuffed animal.

Is it expensive? Sure. Do you at least get your money's worth? I'd say yes. Especially with younger…read morekids. We arrived around 10am and didn't leave until after 2pm. The big hits with our kids were (not official names): roller coaster simulator, "6d" motion simulator (not really 6d but whatever), laser tag!, rope course, and the various 1st floor activities. Not something we'd do multiple times a year or anything but it's a fun first time experience.

Yelp 100 Challenge -#35…read more Wonder Works is a 4 level arcade offering different attractions and things to do on each level. Wonder Works is great for a first date or even a fun family outing. 1st Floor includes the lobby, gift shop, Wonder Cafe, Hurricane Shack, Xtreme 360 Bikes, Physical Challenge Zone, and party room. 2nd Floor includes Laser Tag. If you have a little child, you may be able to take turns and go in different heats. 3rd Floor includes the wall of illusions, XD Theater, draw alive, Wonder Coaster, Bed of Nails, Bubble Lab, and STEM Room. 4th Floor includes space discovery, ropes course, arcade games that you purchase to play, art of Dr Seuss, Imagination Lab, and Interactive Sandbox. My favorite was the digital Wonder Coaster. It is an indoor ride that follows along a video of a roller coaster flipping you and spinning you like the real thing. I recommend wear closed toe shoes and comfortable clothing so you are able to ride majority of the attractions inside. You can also add on the Wonder Works casebook and slice different riddles as you explore the four levels.

My husband and I went on the Day Safari Tour April 24, 2025…read more This tour was not only fun but very knowledgeable. As we held several animals the guide explained details of each. I loved the chimpanzee hugging me and giving my husband a fist bump. The photographers know exactly when to photo for the best experience. You receive several photos in the package. There were planned bathroom breaks, two refreshment snack stops and a terrific lunch which included a variety of food and drinks. We only wish there were photos of the tiger climbing the post and white tiger chasing the ball. We know we could not be near the tigers for safety but to have these photos we be appreciated. Hopefully next year we can attend and have these two photos added to the collection. Thank you for caring about all these animals. Rena and Darcy

This experience was absolutely worth the price…read more You get exactly what you're looking for-photos with some amazing beautiful animals that you would never truly get to experience anywhere else! This price is extremely fair as I've been to several different animal experiences in the past, the only difference is you can see the love the staff has for these animals and it's just so magical! Thank you to this amazing staff for everything and making sure all the experiences here are extra special!
