My husband and I went on the Day Safari Tour April 24, 2025…read more This tour was not only fun but very knowledgeable. As we held several animals the guide explained details of each. I loved the chimpanzee hugging me and giving my husband a fist bump. The photographers know exactly when to photo for the best experience. You receive several photos in the package. There were planned bathroom breaks, two refreshment snack stops and a terrific lunch which included a variety of food and drinks. We only wish there were photos of the tiger climbing the post and white tiger chasing the ball. We know we could not be near the tigers for safety but to have these photos we be appreciated. Hopefully next year we can attend and have these two photos added to the collection. Thank you for caring about all these animals. Rena and Darcy

This price is extremely fair as I've been to several different animal experiences in the past, the only difference is you can see the love the staff has for these animals and it's just so magical! Thank you to this amazing staff for everything and making sure all the experiences here are extra special!

Reptile Lagoon @ South of the Border - Hamer, SC…read more (3 out of 5 stars) If you're visiting South of the Border, one of the more unusual attractions on-site is the Reptile Lagoon--it's advertised as one of the largest indoor reptile exhibits in the U.S., and it definitely has a wide variety of snakes, lizards, turtles, and of course... alligators and crocodiles. My husband, daughter, and I checked it out during our stop (we also spent over an hour in Pedro's Mexican Shop West--another quirky and fun spot here). But unfortunately, just like much of the South of the Border compound, the Reptile Lagoon desperately needs a fresh coat of paint. It's looking dingy inside and out, and that really takes away from the experience. Here's my biggest concern: While the smaller reptiles seem to be in okay enclosures for now, the alligators and crocodiles are kept in spaces that are far too small for their size and needs. It was honestly upsetting. These are large, powerful animals that deserve much more space, proper enrichment, and better conditions. I strongly believe they should be relocated to a proper sanctuary where they can thrive. The baby gators might be okay temporarily, but once they grow, they'll need a better environment too. The exhibit itself could be great if given some attention--cleaner enclosures, updated paint, better lighting, and more naturalistic habitats would go a long way. It's still worth checking out if you're already at South of the Border, but I'd love to see some major improvements before I could recommend it fully. South of the Border Overview: This place has a lot of fun, nostalgic roadside charm, dating back to 1949. But it's clear that the entire compound--from shops to attractions--needs upkeep. With the right care, it could be a truly great destination again.

We've had a house in Sunset for close to 10 years but have somehow never made our way over here…read moreuntil this past weekend. We've heard tons of good things about it too. We came on a day when we thought the weather at the beach was going to be less than ideal - lucky for us, the Zipline tours operate rain or shine. We ended up having great weather for it too! It was super easy to book. Once we got there, they got us kitted out, then we went through a quick (yet thorough) instruction on how to safely zipline. It was a group of 5 of us plus our guides. The tour took about 2 - 2.5 hours, and you get to go on 10 different ziplines. It was a fun way to spend an afternoon. Especially if the weather is going to be less than ideal and you need some way to kill time. Our tour guides, Chase, Miles, and Zach, were great! Thanks y'all!

For the Zipline tour, we had Jesse, Margaret, and Lacey as our guides and all of them were great! Jesse is very fun and funny, Margaret is super sweet, and Lacey had amazing knowledge on fun facts throughout the tour! The zip lines were very fun, and all three guides took every measure to ensure our safety, creating a good sense of trust. We all felt like a group of friends by the end of our tour. They also take photos at the beginning, middle, and end of the tour with specific spots for photo ops which I truly appreciate! (You do have to pay for the photos.) I will absolutely recommend The Swamp Park to friends and family! We plan to come back and try the ATV tour next!

Online it says its 15 acres, but it looks more like 2-3 acres, so who knows whats what with that. They had a bunch of different kinds of snakes which was pretty neat. I wish we could hold the baby alligators. Right when you walk in you see the area with alligators under 5 years of age. Then in one of the building they have the baby baby ones about a foot long. I said man I want to put one on my shoulder, I want one. But we don't get to touch anything. I went to the show and the lady showed us the blue tongue skink and also the Dumeril Boa. It is a lil pricey. With military discount is $37.74. But its pretty cool to see all of the gators. They stay sooo still you wonder if they were real, then they would slightly move.

There are live feeding demo and also demos of reptiles by the associates. Other than alligators they have small and medium size animals like turtles, ostriches, hyenas and few more. There are individual houses for small reptiles, frogs and lizards. At the back they also have Alligators cove where you get to see Alligators living in the water lands. In the middle of the park there's lots of sitting area with shade. Huge fans blow all day to ease the visitors from heat and humidity. There's a small cafe that service some food, snacks, ice cream and drinks. The gift shop has lots of cool items focused on alligators, reptiles, animals and the park. Easily takes 2-3 hours to filly explore the park. We found all associates to be very friendly and constantly reminding guests how to explore the park safely.

Yelp 100 Challenge -#35…read more Wonder Works is a 4 level arcade offering different attractions and things to do on each level. Wonder Works is great for a first date or even a fun family outing. 1st Floor includes the lobby, gift shop, Wonder Cafe, Hurricane Shack, Xtreme 360 Bikes, Physical Challenge Zone, and party room. 2nd Floor includes Laser Tag. If you have a little child, you may be able to take turns and go in different heats. 3rd Floor includes the wall of illusions, XD Theater, draw alive, Wonder Coaster, Bed of Nails, Bubble Lab, and STEM Room. 4th Floor includes space discovery, ropes course, arcade games that you purchase to play, art of Dr Seuss, Imagination Lab, and Interactive Sandbox. My favorite was the digital Wonder Coaster. It is an indoor ride that follows along a video of a roller coaster flipping you and spinning you like the real thing. I recommend wear closed toe shoes and comfortable clothing so you are able to ride majority of the attractions inside. You can also add on the Wonder Works casebook and slice different riddles as you explore the four levels.

It's a fun spot for kids, but as an adult, I wouldn't feel the need to go back. It can get pretty crowded, so I'd recommend going early on a weekday instead of the weekend if you can. A few of the exhibits weren't working during my visit, which was a little disappointing. While it's entertaining, I do think the price is a bit high--around $35 per person would feel more reasonable than $40. Overall, it's a decent way to spend some time, especially for families, but not something I'd go out of my way to do again.
