I am very happy with my experience working with Builder's Choice for my bathroom renovation. Eddie visited our property to take measurements and provided a detailed written quote for the work to be done. He was knowledgeable about the renovation process and design options. He was so kind and patient when answering my many questions. He helped talk me through design decisions. When I described the type of tile I was looking for, he pulled the exact one I wanted right away. He was communicative and responsive to my requests. He also had clear communication with the construction team. After getting quotes from several other companies in the area, Builder's Choice was the clear winner for me in terms of price and customer service. Renovation work started on time and proceeded as scheduled with no delays - 7 total work days. The construction team, Angel and Joseph, did excellent work. They were courteous, clean, efficient, and skillful. Angel is skilled in plumbing, water-proofing, tile work, electrical, and more. He laid the tile beautifully and precisely. When we had an electrical problem pop up in the kitchen during the bathroom renovation, Angel was able to expertly diagnose and skillfully solve it. Throughout the renovation process, Joseph vacuumed frequently to contain the dust. At the end of the renovation process they vacuumed and wiped down the floors from the front entrance to the bathroom. I would recommend Builder's Choice to friends or family looking to renovate their bathroom in the South Bay.

We had new kitchen cabinets, island, counter tops, and laundry area done 2 years ago. Customer…read moreservice has been very good. There were a few problems, like cabinet damage during manufacturer shipping, and two different drawers that needed slides replaced. In each case, the interaction at the store has been easy and friendly, and the problems resolved swiftly. I was frustrated at one point, but it turned out to be my own fault: Rather than calling or dropping by the store, I was sending emails and getting no replies. I later found out that the emails were going to employees that were no longer there. The staff is friendly, and if you drop by the store, the owner will personally greet you and make sure you are happy.

I am posting this as a person with significant experience and first-hand knowledge of the business…read morepractices and customer experiences at South Bay Design Center as organized and dictated directly by the owner, Kamer Kosedag. To keep emotion and hyperbole out of this, I am stating clear and honest facts. When you visit SBDC you will be charmed! It is a beautiful place, the dream of Kamer. You will meet a great team who will do their best to make your dream remodel a reality. I promise that if you read the other reviews, you will read the joys of working with the designers and team that work with them. Kamer himself may even appear, especially if you have good money to spend, to charm you and woo you into a contract. You will be asked to sign a retainer, don't bother trying to get it back whether they hold up their end of the deal or not. If you sign a contract, the amount will be put toward the cabinetry ONLY, and if you forget to ask for it to be applied, they do too. Once you are under contract with SBDC (and you had better make sure you go over EVERY line in detail, because Kamer WILL find a way to wiggle out of anything he doesn't want to do if he can find even the tiniest loophole), you are subject to Kamer's will and he absolutely will exercise that will how he sees fit. SBDC is run like a dictatorship. Even the designers are asked to do things that are morally compromised if he does or doesn't want to do something. I will not air all the dirty laundry, as this isn't the place and there are innocent people involved, but more than one person has been fired or quit due to their unwillingness to carry out his orders. The customer suffers and is hung out to dry because an issue comes up that he doesn't want to deal with or would eat up his profit and there is nothing they can do about it. He will threaten to walk away from projects if the customer doesn't do what he wants. Remodels are messy, time consuming and will put pressure on any relationship. It doesn't help when you are dealing with a tight-fisted narcissist who has to have control over EVERY aspect of your project even if you never hear his voice. The designers (or a member of the team) have to deliver his messages because if he talks directly with a customer, he will be the epitome of the "bull in a china shop" as he is very brash and unfeeling unless the customer is anything but compliant. I highly suggest you scroll and find a review by Janelle T. I have intimate knowledge of that situation and stood up for Kamer honestly believing that he would do the right thing by the customer, but money took priority over a very good customer, and she lost more than she says in her review. Also be aware that several of the reviews are here because Kamer is willing to use quid pro quo. He will send a contractor or handyman back to your house to fix an issue if you leave him a review. Or he will just have his designers hound you for a review. Other reviews are from friends, acquaintances, and people that work in the same building as SBDC all posting to keep his stars above their true value. I post this as a challenge to the bully that put me under so much stress and duress that I had to take stress leave two months before I could go on maternity leave. I'm standing up to you as I should have then but didn't to protect the other person you hurt more than you will ever know. Doesn't matter how many times you find a way to get Yelp to delete this message. I will repost it. If it saves even ONE person from the heartache I have seen people who deal with you go through, it's worth it.

Considering the quality of the materials and workmanship, we felt the price was very reasonable. The finished kitchen looks absolutely beautiful, and my wife and I are thrilled with how everything turned out. This is a family-owned business, and May was our main point of contact throughout the project. At first, her communication style may come across as direct or a bit blunt, especially since English isn't either of our first languages. However, once you get to know her, you'll quickly realize she's incredibly kind, knowledgeable, generous, and genuinely wants what's best for her customers. She has a very caring heart. Her husband also came by to help lead parts of the project, and having both of them in our home was genuinely reassuring. They made us feel comfortable and safe throughout the renovation. The crew was extremely considerate of our home. They carefully covered all of our furniture, protected the floors with coverings and towels, and kept everything as clean as possible during construction. On top of that, they were impressively efficient and highly skilled. They completed our entire kitchen renovation in less than a week. Communication was another highlight. They were always quick to respond, whether by email or text message, and kept us informed throughout the process. Overall, we're extremely happy with the entire experience. The renovation was smooth from start to finish. We definitely plan to contact them again when we're ready to renovate our bathroom. To be honest, this place is a spot that I want to gatekeep from others! Thank you, May and your team, for making what could have been a stressful project such an enjoyable and seamless experience!

We got quotes from three other places, and they gave us the lowest price. Usually, other companies charge a fee for every single hole they drill in the sink and charge for each cabinet handle individually, but they did all of it with no extra labor costs. We also had our baseboards done here, and we are so happy with the results. If we had known they did vinyl flooring, we would have done that with M&M too. I highly recommend them. The installers are all highly experienced masters.

WDC was able to help me and though I had delays with them as well, the wait was shorter. After delivery, I discovered that my oven was not heating properly and I was assigned a customer support person at corporate, ALEX. She is AMAZING!!! She is responsive, helpful, thorough, and just such a delight to work with. She'd call when she said she would, follow up with service centers and really advocate for me and made me feel heard. Now that my oven is working, I'm going to miss her weekly follow ups with me. If you have an issue with an appliance, definitely recommend Alex.

The microwave was never installed, never plugged in, and never used--it was simply the wrong size. I contacted WDC and even offered to pay a reasonable restocking fee so they could resell it as new. The representative said they would look into it and get back to me, but I never received a response. I understand that stores have return policies, but I was hoping for some flexibility given that the product was still in brand-new condition. Better communication and customer service would have gone a long way. The purchasing process itself was smooth, but the lack of follow-up after I reached out left me disappointed. If you're ordering appliances for a remodel, be absolutely certain about the measurements before purchasing, because you may not have any options if something doesn't fit.
