They have all the contractors needed for the work along their trusted team. They demolished. Removed debris. Reconstructed and finished with in 40 days. I will say it was a fair price. No particular discounts but based on other quotes the job was about the same price. The difference is that they took care of everything needed. UPDATE: Synchrony Bank refunded me the $14,733 that Ben K charged my card. I have reported Ben K to the LA City Attorney's Office of Consumer Protection and the State Contractor's Licensing Board. Ben K hired ASTOURIAN & ASSOCIATES LAW FIRM to threaten me if I did not remove this Yelp Review. They wrote that everything I'm saying is false. Ben K does not allow his workers to communicate with the insurance company that is paying the bill. He tries to bully and frighten you into removing Yelp reviews.. Money my insurance paid for new cabinets was used by Ben to tear up my porcelain floor without permission from my insurance. A sloppy unauthorized wall was thrown up over a low partition, causing bulging and splitting. I told Ben I wanted to select the paint but Ben ignored me and used cheap, expired, terrible smelling "special paint" that ruined my kitchen after it had been thoroughly cleaned by a mold remediation service. Ben charged my credit card $14,300 when I told him to charge exactly what my insurance company gave me which was $11,576.74. He never refunded me the $2,723.26 he took from my credit card without my permission. This is criminal but all Ben had to say to me was that $2,723.74 was not that much money. Ben decided to keep $10,733. of the money Assurant gave me to buy kitchen shelves with and he justified it to Synchrony Bank by claiming it was for other unauthorized work he had not submitted a bid for to Jewish Free Loan for baby proofing the house for my autistic son. Ben should return the money to Synchrony Bank and he should also pay for all the damage repairs he caused that I have had to pay for with money that was set aside for my son's dental surgeries. Ben delivers pastries to his customers to make them feel special. He was constantly shouting at my autistic son, whom he does not know, "I love you James" and yet he never bothered to submit a bid to Jewish Free Loan for the baby proofing job and he kept the insurance money for work he didn't do and caused so much damage that my autistic son's $9000 dental surgery had to be postponed in spite of the pain he is in because Ben is destroying us financially. Ben is like a pit bull and the only way to stop him from doing more damage was to fire him. Ben refused to use email to communicate with me and my insurance. He hid from the field adjuster. He began to say bad things about me when he was asked to explain his frantic actions and "creative" financing. Ben called me a difficult person when he was unable to force me to accept a sliding glass door I didn't order. I did not have financing for the door and it was the same as the door I already have. The door was not covered by insurance and Ben did not submit a bid to me that I could present to Jewish Free Loan to apply for a loan for. It was not a door anyone baby proofing would buy because it had no lock. Ben wanted to rig a lock on it instead of allowing me to pick out a door that came with a lock. When I asked how much floor tiles cost, Ben snapped at me, "You are not my business partner". When I asked if he spoke to my insurance claim adjuster before removing my porcelain tile, he avoided answering me and then finally blurted, "I don't have to!" Ben felt he could accept money from my insurance but had no obligation to consult with my insurance. Ben said he did not like to use email. When he gave different stories as to why he had to remove my porcelain tile and why he felt my insurance HAD to pay for what he had done, it was obvious he did not care who he hurt. He lied and said the mold remediation company had broken the tile. Ben's own employee exclaimed to Ben, "I broke the tile, you told me to!" I had to fire Ben because he was damaging my house like a Tasmanian devil and making up conflicting stories to blame other companies for what he had done. He had defied me when I said I wanted to select the paint color. It offended him that I wanted to pick out the color of paint to be used on my walls. This is what he means when he calls a customer "difficult". I wanted "Falling Snow" BHER paint. Ben defied me and used what he wanted and what he called "Special paint". It had a horrible smell that was first reported to me by Building Cleaning Services who had to wear a mask to endure inspecting the kitchen. My son and I were staying at a hotel and the first time I entered the kitchen at my home it made me nauseous. Several different contractors inspected and one suggested bleaching the walls and ceiling. The others suggested removing the drywall to get rid of the stench. It's fortunate we opted to remove the dry wall because that is how we found the fire hazard and how we found the wall was unstable, wobbling. The wall was barely attached in some areas and not attached at all in other sections. Nothing justifies charging more on a credit card than the customer authorized. That is criminal. Nothing justifies using Assurant insurance money for an unrelated, un-bid on JFL job. read more

I was so happy with Ben and Universal Floor Source the first time that I hired them again to update my outdated townhouse. The pictures speak for themselves. Ben K and the whole crew are the finest people and workmen I have ever used for any home project. We waited a long time to remodeling our kitchen and visited several companies. When we met Ben K we knew we were at the right place. Ben worked with us to design the entire kitchen area and then gave us a fare proposal to do the job. We thought he was being optimistic when he said that it would be completed in 3 weeks but 3 weeks and 2 days later it was finished and we couldn't have been more pleased. Since my last review, I had Benjamin remodel our kitchen, living room and half bath. In 2016. What amazing work! We had all new lights in the ceiling, new porcelain tile floor in kitchen, beautiful granite work on all the counters, love all the new cabinets with lazy Susans and pull out drawers. I can't say enough about the quality and beautiful workmanship, not to mention BEST PRICE EVER and for great quality! Best of all is Benjamin who is so professional and honest and does everything to make sure we are happy and satisfied! Job was done right on time and work continued on a daily basis. FYI his prices included the demolition, cabinets, countertops, sink, and beautiful knobs/handles and the price was the same or less than the other quotes I got which did not include all these extras. I have been referring him to my friends who are also happy with him. He has great prices, the work is very fast and efficient, and Benjamin is wonderful. Remodeling a kitchen is a scary thing but Benjamin will take good care of you. If you don't know what you want he has some good ideas.
