I called about lumber for a deck, and the customer service was outstanding. Lyn didn't have the lumber I was looking for and when he told me why, it made me question if I should be looking at other wood options for fixing my deck. Even though he didn't expect me to buy anything, Lyn STILL took a bunch of time to talk to me about my project. Between the person who was supposed to be redoing my deck and 4 other lumber places I called, he was the ONLY one who helped me realize I was trying to order the wrong product because I didn't realize how wood sizing worked. I would have special ordered the wrong kind of wood from a different place without Lyn! He was very patient, thorough, knowledgable, and truly a lifesaver, and all with knowing up front that I wasn't even going to be a customer! I can't thank Lyn enough, and I will absolutely try to order from them with future projects. read more

My Toll Brothers home in Leander has BFS windows on it. They are 4 years old and falling apart. I went through warranty process and got no where. The referred me to a window parts company that does not sell to end users. I am happy to pay for parts but cant even get help with that. If you are building a home, make sure they are not using BFS windows. read more

I was leery of this place after reading reviews that describe poor customer service and hearing from contractors that they don't answer the phone these days. I didn't make it past walking in to the "will call" area where a grumpy elderly gentleman grudgingly "helped me". After having been in contact with another supplier of millwork, I just said never mind and placed my order at the competitor. I can't imagine having to interact with BMC's poor customer service during the likely couple months it will take BMC (or any similar company) to obtain and deliver my large order. read more

The person that was supposed to take my order made it very clear that I wasn't a priority because I was a small "cash" customer and then when I was unable to answer a door specification because I jut did not know, he proceeded to laugh at me. I bought 4 clear pine boards from the south store and wanted to willcall them at north store. Went to pick up at north store and spoke with Bob. Without looking anything up, sent me to lumber yard. Said it wails be there. Get there and they tell me it's at Millwork location. Then had to return to first place to pick it up. Paperwork strewn everywhere. Obviously a disorganized place to work and no one cares about retail. read more

We bought 2 French doors, 1 single door. They were not right and they kept telling us that they hadn't come in but we're actually on a shelve in the warehouse. To lazy to check. Also bought our hardware from them and asked that they key all of them the same, which they did not. Our contractor and ourselves will not use them again. Worst experience ever. read more

Went in and was told the sales people were all too busy. Wow! Really? We were directed to the contractor pickup area way in the back where we were told the person could see what we we wanted and put an order together. Yeah, not. He was supposed to email a quote and we never received that or a follow up phone call. Guess they got enough business without ours. read more

Order doors from BMC, they waited so long to order the doors, the doors were no longer in stock. They tried to compensate us with "sold" mahogany doors. The doors lasted 6 months, then splitted and cracked. New "sold" mahogany doors replaced the old ones, same thing in less time. A third set of doors got wet and bubbled (so much for "sold"). Finally went with fiberglass doors to solve the problem. Throughout the process the sales women Misty worked hard to sell us the doors and then stood behind the product. So far behind the product she couldn't be seen. Called her twice a week for two weeks, then every other day for three weeks, then after calling her twice a day for four weeks. I finally called her supervisor and the problem was resolved in a hour. If you want customer service from this company go straight to the top. If you want a quality product go to another company. read more

Picking up solid wood doors, waited for 20 minutes until someone finally showed with the doors. They just leaned them against the wall for me to load myself. No help offered. Terrible customer service. read more

I'm writing a comment to add some perspective to all the irritated reviewers here. I've got limited experience with BMC, and that was with their location on Brushy Creek Road, not the Whitestone location. No matter. Look, it's clear that most of these folks are not accustomed to working with general contractor supply companies like BMC. So, please don't take this personally but allow me to clue you in a bit. Right now, as I type in very late 2016, Austin's housing market is booming and construction of all types in general is booming. When that happens, building material suppliers of all types get very busy. I don't care what you think about customer service. This is not a McDonald's and not your local Target or Wally World. You people need to stop and reconsider your perspective and consider the industry and type of people you're dealing with. It's not personal. It's business. And when business is really good, guess what? These companies are busy, and their employees don't give 2 shits about dealing with people who don't know what they want or who they don't care to deal with. That is probably not what you want to hear, but just like this year's election, it is what it is. Now, contrast the current times with 2011-2013. That was a completely different story. Back then you would have been lavished on if you walked in a showroom and looked like you wanted to spend money. Construction is notorious for its boom-bust cycles, and right now is no different. If you want / need to deal with these folks, just understand the environment you are walking into, be persistent, and be patient. It's not personal. It's what happens in this industry when times are "good." Complaining about it on Google Reviews or Yelp won't help you (except perhaps you'll feel better about yourself). These people at companies like this don't read them and could care less while they are making money hand-over-fist. Yes, it's somewhat useful to share your customer service experiences with others, but I'm just telling you this is the norm. Like I said, this is not McDonald's. You cannot intimidate these people with your complaints. They could care less and you won't change them. Prices are great, customer service is terrible! I am a local contractor and this was my first time dealing with BMC. One of my customers needed new baseboards and they found the style they liked at BMC. The customer placed the order and arranged for me to pick it up. I arrived first thing on Monday morning at 730 when they opened. I went inside to find that no one was working at the front desk. While standing in the waiting area, four different employees walked past me, looked difrectly at me, but did not say a word. After ten minites, a fifth enployee walks by and asks if I've been helped yet. I told him no and that I hadn't seen anyone working the front desk. The employee stated that the front desk guy was probably making coffee. The employee then walked away without offering any assistance. Another 5 minutes passed and the same employee comes back. He again asks if I've been helped yet. I tell him no. About a mintue later the front desk guy shows up and provides me with my copy of the order slip. Good to go, right? Wrong! I pull my vehicle around to the loading bay and wait patiently for my order to be delivered. While standing by my vehicle with my receipt in hand, I am seen by numerous different employees (6-8) and not one of them say a word to me. After waiting 20 more minutes an employee brings another customer's order to them, and then tells me that my order will be out shortly. A few mintues later my order arrives and everything looks good. My customer was happy with their new baseboards and the money they saved, but I was very unhappy with the customer service that BMC provided. read more

If i could them a minus 5 i would. The sell you a $1,700 entry door put the wrong hinges (gold instead of silver) and the worst part the use inferior double glazed glass that FAILS in no time and they only give you a one year warranty. Charge the most for crap product!!!!! read more

I can't think of the last time I experienced just horrible customer service. I run a flooring store & ordered base boards from them. Mind you the baseboards are 16 foot long which means they're not going to fit in almost vehicle and it makes it very cumbersome to handle & transport them. When it's raining you can't just throw them in a van. They will have to stick out, thus will get wet. When I asked them if we could get them cut into 8 foot pieces the guy told me NO! Then I proceeded to ask what was I supposed to do because I really needed them to be cut in half due to getting wet. He rudely told me "bring a saw and cut then yourself" and then hung up on me. Rest assured I'll be buying my stuff elsewhere from now on. read more

BMC has great prices and much to choose from, however their customer service is very poor, especially by phone and not following up. When I called, the receptionist indicated they were too busy to call back, wow! This reflects poorly on the GM who oversees this organization. The staff needs training! read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Confirm your delivery if its offered. Call them constantly if you don't hear from them, don't assume they're working on it. While the guy I contacted appeared helpful and acted sincere, BMC's follow through on my order was terrible. Ordered a door on a Thursday and was told it would take three days, that I would have it Monday. It was the wrong door, we were told we'd have the right door the next day. We tried to pick up that door on Friday and were told that it was "in the warehouse" and they offered to deliver it that day. Well, it was never delivered. As a result of their failure, we had to reschedule a job. Today (Monday), I'm being told it'll be delivered this afternoon...we'll see. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. Ordered a single bath Vanity April 21st 2017. Got the cabinet mid June 2017, Cabinet was not quality checked and was wrong. got this response "I just got into my office after a meeting. That is definitely not synchronized... this won't delay the install at all. The drawer fronts can be replaced at any time! This is minor in the realm of things that pop up; not too worry! I will get this over to Bellmont and have them remake the drawer fronts for the drawers and get them sent out ASAP! Cabinets were installed June 26th. It's now October 31st and I'm still trying to get the remade cabinet drawers installed, they came in 10/27. I was hoping to hear back on Monday 10/30 on the install date, but was never contacted. I then had to send another email asking them to install the cabinets. I got a response asking what day works for me, and I indicated Friday 11/3. I then get an this email response. "Will Wednesday or Thursday of this week work for you"? IF WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY WOULD HAVE WORKED DON'T YOU THINK I WOULD HAVE INDICATED THAT IN MY EMAIL? I'm pissed that common sense escapes these people. Pick up the Fricken phone and call me to coordinate an install. 6 months to get a vanity installed is ridiculous. read more

I am never doing business with this company again! I'm not quite sure who even runs the place. Sent in plans for specs, person said it would be 3 weeks they were running behind. Three weeks went by, 6 weeks....numerous calls in between there. It is now 3 mos. later, no specs. They use an outside source for their ordering who can never be reached. You literally go from one voice mail to another, no one knows where anyone is or anything about the order you placed. It is completely ridiculous. We ended up finishing out an order with them. They have never called us back about the specs we turned in, or how they can help us with more material. Worst customer service ever!! I seriously continue to question how this business exists! read more

On December 1, 2015 one of BMC 's trucks hit my tree in my front yard. It took off one third of my tree. We had just had our tree professionally trimmed. The guy that hit my tree didn't apologize. He removed the tree from the street and left. I called the tree service that we had used and he gave me a bill for repairing the damage and also repaired the tree damage. I called BMC and talked to Bob. He said he was too busy to talk to me until the next week. On December 7, 2015 he had us fax him a copy of the bill. He came out to our house to take pictures of the tree damage. All he could say was that we paid too much for the damage. He said he would talk to his manager and get back to me. We still haven't heard from him or been reimbursed. We also left a message for Bob's manager, Steve Van Meetran, and he never returned my call. I don't know why the truck (semi) from BMC was in our neighborhood. We are thankful that it was only our tree and not a child that got hit. read more
