Do not use this business!!! We gave them a huge business to redo all flooring for a 2500 sqft home and they ripped us off. Basically, after being very difficult to work with during the scheduling phase, they stopped returning calls completely when it came time to fixing the defects and completing the job that we nearly paid in full. Cashmere IV is definitely worth the price....so soft to walk in on our bedroom, best Christmas present ever for my husband and I to give each other! Jennifer worked with us very patiently on the order selection process. Jim Locke measured our bedrooms...the master is large and required a seam that is totally invisible. The removal of old carpet and installation from bedrooms into bedroom walk-in closets was very professionally planned, organized and done with care. Our existing furniture includes a tempurpedic bed so the install required moving very heavy furniture and working carefully to avoid damaging polished wood floors in the route thru the house to bedrooms. I've been referring clients to Mill Direct for years now, and they've been very satisfied. Recently, however, I got to be the client. I ordered wood (engineered) flooring for my master bedroom. Jennifer was super professional, and let me take samples home to see what matched the flooring in the rest of the house. I was able to apply for 6 months same as cash. The installers came the evening prior and moved the furniture so I could paint behind the large wall/pier cabinet. When they came today to install they came in and were immediately ready to work. They moved the furniture, floated the uneven floors, and laid the flooring. Installed the shoe mold, replaced the furniture and were gone by 6pm. I now have beautiful flooring, and it was absolutely No Hassle. I could not recommend a better flooring company to work with, and I do! read more

Really disappointed in the product. I asked for good real hardwood flooring at a decent price. Jim showed me a sample board and allowed me to take it home. He came by to measure and gave me the price. I asked if the price included the padding and everything for float. He said it did and I could have it done within the week. He came through, the installers came on time and started to work. They showed me the flooring, it looked more like laminate than real wood, he said yes it was wood and showed me the underside. . I peeked in a few times while they were scraping and preparing the floor. Then again, after they started laying the wood on the bare floor. I asked about the underlayment, he shook his head and said I could call the boss. I felt it was too late and said, "Well you've already started." But then I had second thoughts and called, but just got the recording that there was no voicemail set up. He never called back, even to follow up on the job. I've had flooring done before by the big box and they always followed up. I guess he doesn't care about repeat business. I would not recommend this company. read more

Unfortunately I can not recommend Mill Direct. I don't know what happened between when my friend recommended them and my job because they did a great job on her shower. There is a serious lack of communication between the client, the workman, and the owner Jim Locke. The left hand does not know what the right is doing. He came for the initial consult on a Monday and I expressed my requirement that the entire project needed to be complete by April 6 when my 93 year old Grandma arrived . He barely measured anything, took a couple of notes and told me he'd send me a quote. By Friday I had not received anything. When I called his # to check he didn't even remember who I was- even with my name & address. Had it not been the recommendation of my friend I would not have continued, but I called and he told me that they had been experiencing 'computer problems' and he would call me back. The whole project was one problem after another. The tile is not at all how I originally requested (diagonal)and he told me that it would be 1 week from when they demo'd the shower until the new tile would be in. The project started March 6 and they finished their portion in 3 weeks-Not 1. I had requested that a grab bar be installed and that it be 'blocked' while the studs were showing so that it would be safely secured. Jim came and screwed a few pieces of plywood on top of the studs for the blocking. When the tile workmen arrived they asked me what that was for and told me that they would be in the way. I explained what they were for and he removed them and properly installed 2x4 pieces in between the studs and he and I measured their placement so that the grab bar would be properly installed afterwards. I also took photos. Had I not been there I'm sure the blocking would not have occurred. I requested that the sinks and garden tub faucets and towel bars all be changed out to match the new fixtures in the shower and Jim told me to leave a list of what I wanted and lay out the fixtures and he would pass along the instructions to the plumber. They subcontracted the plumber- I never met the plumber and Jim never shared contact information with me for the plumber. Unfortunately, the plumber broke my cultured marble piece while he was trying to get to the plumbing of the Garden tub. Instead of calling me and communicating that something had happened- I had to arrive at home to find it broken and the broken piece had been hauled away by them. When I called Jim to see if he knew this I was told that it could not be replaced and that they would just replace it with tile. The tile workmen came to do the install and he showed me that installing tile on the fascia of the tub would be a different width and the edge would not be smooth. When I called Jim to tell him that the tile would not be an acceptable solution he literally Yelled at me over the phone that he had told me that cultured marble was no longer available to purchase Anywhere. At that point I realized that he was just 'running all over me' and made it clear that the marble needed to be replaced and pointed out that if you're hired to do a job and you come in and break something, then you're responsible to replace it to the best of your ability. In 10 minutes he texted me that he thought he'd found a resource. The next day his admin called me to tell me that the Langham Group would be calling me to come install the replacement marble. I never received a phone call, 4 days later I called them and made the appointment. The shower door could not even be measured for until the marble was replaced atop the 1/2 wall that closes the shower, so this seriously impeded the timeline. After the marble was installed I called Anchor Ventana and they told me that they couldn't even get someone to come out to measure until the following week and it would be 3 weeks until the frameless shower glass would come in! The plumber was supposed to return and install the shower fixture, the tub faucet, towel bar, towel rings, tub drain and air vent, and an upstairs faucet. Jim notified me that he would come on Monday. The plumber never came. Once again, I texted Jim and he said he didn't know why they hadn't come. The plumber came on Tuesday. EVERYTHING was listed out in detail on a piece of paper in the bathroom in addition to all the boxed fixtures being place by their respective locations. The plumber installed the shower fixture and the tub fixture and left the rest undone. When I returned home to find this I contacted Jim- He told me that all of that was between me and the plumber and that his part was completed. I reminded him that I had no idea who the plumber even was. He gave me the contact information and I've never spoken to him since. I decided to just call a reliable handyman JTB Services and he did an outstanding job. Shower Doors Today Did an AMAZING Job in a Short amount of time and got the frameless shower surround installed the DAY my Grandmother arrived. read more

I do NOT recommend using Mill Direct Carpet. Customer service went quickly down hill right after I wrote my first check. On the day of installation, installers were 45 minutes late. I had to call them, then was told my carpet was on back order! Why didn't they let me know? We had taken off work, and moved all the furniture ourselves! We had to live that way for over another week till the carpet did come in. While I am very happy with the carpet itself, the padding is horrible. After having to call the office multiple times regarding large lumps in the carpet (padding), I finally had to go to the store in person because my calls were not being returned. The installers came out, pulled the carpet back, cut the lump in the padding out, and filled the hole by cutting other padding from along the wall! Pretty sure I paid for a full floor of padding, and padding without lumps! Customer serviced stops after they start receiving payment, and Jim does not return phone calls. Jim also informed me that they are not in the business of moving furniture, so keep that in mind if you are unable to move furniture yourself. It must be true because Jim's carpet installers thought our carpet sliders were really neat and wanted to know where they could get some! read more

We had a small flooring job we needed done for our office. Mill Direct came recommended by someone who uses them. They were about 30 minutes late to the initial appointment, and I had to call to see if they were coming. That should have been the first red flag. Then It took way too much time and effort to get Mill Direct to schedule the job. They would not return phone calls, or they would tell you they will check on the schedule and call you back but never do. Granted the job was small, however, small jobs can lead to bigger jobs! Not in this case though! I will not recommend or use them for business or personal flooring jobs again. read more

My wife and I just replaced the carpeting for our entire upstairs which includes 15 stairs and 2 landings, a large hallway, and 7 rooms plus closets. The total square footage is over 2,000. A client referred me to Mill Direct Carpet in Georgetown and from start to finish it was a great experience. Jennifer came to our home with samples to help select the right choice within our budget and made the all the measurements with great expertise. Within a week and half we had new, quality carpeting and padding. The installation team was very courteous and definitely well experienced in their work. I was amazed that they were able to remove all of the old carpet and padding and install new padding and carpet for all those rooms with over 2,000 square feet in just 1 day. Hats off to them! First of all the installation of the flooring was excellent. We replaced the tile and carpet in our house of about 2400 sq.ft and it looks great. The problem is the finish. The quarter round was prepainted, which is fine, however when you handle the material it will get discolored and you can see where the staples were shot in the wood. Also, when you cut the quarter round at 45 degree angles, it results in bare wood showing and the end of the installed wood. So I asked the owner, Jim, what he was going to do about that problem and he said that I could just get a small paint brush and touch up the ends of the quarter round. What? Do I look like a painter. Also who was going to touch up the areas where they shot the staples into the wood? Also he ducked our calls during the installation which irritated the heck out of me. I had a friend who used this company for the same type of job and they sent out a painter to finish the job. He not only painted the quarter round but all the base boards because the quarter round did not match the baseboards. He has been in business for 25 years, maybe it is time to retire. read more

Mill Direct Carpet came highly recommended so I hired them to install vinyl plank flooring throughout my home. Unfortunately I was not happy with the work that was performed. There were gaps between planks, uneven cuts, and areas where the planks were not glued down properly and were lifting at the edges. They came back on several occasions working a few hours each time to redo some of the areas, and each time I accommodated their schedule since I knew they had other jobs going on. There were still more areas here and there that needed to be redone; but honestly...at some point you just get tired of having people working in your home. Chalk it up to a lesson learned. I suspect they have done satisfactory work for other people with different types of flooring but I didn't have a good experience. The bottom line is: If someone recommends a company be sure you look at the work they've done on the exact same type of flooring that plan to have installed. It's important to compare apples to apples. read more
