My experience with BIG was definitely an eye-opener. My project was set to be done in 8 weeks and took 6 months to finish. I went through 4 different contractors, one who left the company in bad terms, and the other was fired. The communication was very bad and i would consistently her from the contractors how they disliked working for the company. I could never get a straight answer about the many delays. Come to find out, 3 permits they requested were denied. The inexperience in management and the contractors was very noticeable and frustrating. Trust is a big issue with this company, and I would recommend going with people you know or that friends have had good experiences with. read more

We hired B.I.G to renovate the shower in our bathroom, and boy did they deliver! Not only were they a really great value they were also extremely professional, communicative, and efficient. Even when our walls got opened up and they discovered a whole host of problems with termite damage and structural quenstionability, they still got the job done in the agreed upon timeframe. Put request on Angie's list and TY called from Builders Innovation group and first thing he said "what's your budget"? I said $4k for making our exiting shower more handicap accessible. He said send me pictures which I did and never heard back. Who asks what's your budget before they even know your project? Had 4 estimates and 2 came in around $3,000 and went with the one that had REAL REVIEWS and asked the right questions. Be sure to look good at the reviews, google has a lot of fake ones and some here too. read more

UPDATE: After seeing my review he tried to bribe me to take it down by offering me everything we paid him. I declined. He did end up sending me what he owed me but think of how many people he's taken advantage of and paid them to take their review down. Shady business. I like to sleep at night and $1500 wasn't worth what he does to people for that. Poor communication and left us high and dry without completing their end of the contract. We hired Jordan for ONE job, to tear out concrete where it was sinking and replace it. They demo'd the concrete and said the soil was wet and that they knew the leak was coming from the waterfall of our pool. We had the original pool builders come check, and an UNBIASED leak detection company come out to inspect. There is no leak and the soil is dry now (even licensed contractors who have come after say it's dry) Jordan wanted to tear up more of our yard and waterfall then restain it and our pool costing over 8k more than the original quote. He wanted to charge 3x as much to stain our pool than other companies which was a huge red flag. He wanted to tear apart our yard to find a leak that he "is sure" exists. Then he wanted us to sign a release of liability for the area he was working on. We were willing to sign one for the pool saying there were no existing leaks but he was working near plumbing so no way would we (at the advice of our trusted brother in law who is also a licensed Contractor) would sign. He did not complete our job and now we have a huge hole of dirt in our yard with three young children and can't put our pool safety fence up because he refuses to take responsibility for the area he is working on. It's amazing this guy can sleep at night. I have no doubt after how our conversations went if we had let him tear apart our yard he would have told us they found and fixed a leak that didn't even exist to charge me for it. Also if you question any of his theories he will say you are attacking him . We are now scrambling to find someone to finish this job and dealing with safety issues with our kids and paying way more than originally would have if we had gone w someone else in the first place. He told us he would get back to us Monday with how much of a credit he owes us since we paid a deposit and for work done (immediately, when requested) and no communication on that either. read more

Additionally we where quoted at $150,000 which then ballooned to $227,000. We go weeks upon weeks and months with no activity. An accident occurred at my home. A run-away vehicle hit the front of my one-story house. The vehicle plowed in, broke the front wall then drove away and "burned" rubber on the front walkway leaving an ugly mark. When Builders Innovation Group (BIG) employees first visited the accident scene, Jordan Box said that, in his opinion, the concrete damage (from tire rubber burn) was permanent. All other contractors specified a simple solution - pressure washing the tire marks. Well, I decided to hire Jordan and BIG. He saw the problem no one else did - concrete walkway damage was permanent. So, Jordan insisted that my insurance company pay for replacement of this ruined outside walkway, in addition to reimbursement for reconstruction of the damaged wall. After BIG worked with the insurance Estimator, the insurance company agreed with Jordan and they paid for a replacement of the concrete walkway. But it was a long haul. The insurance company dragged their feet on payout. Later, after a long wait, I finally received money to replace the front walkway, and the front wall was repaired structurally, too. read more

Pat Miller is a disabled senior. She is 81 years old and legally blind. Pat has filed a complaint against the Builders Innovation group. Jordan Box, from the Builders Innovation group.  Here is a brief summary of some of the events. March 25th Pat requested that I speak to Jordan Box.   He was requesting $1000 deposit and an additional $15,000 to start the job. I requested further information about what the $15,000 was for.  Jordan told me it was ONLY for the material. 12,000 for the kitchen cabinets and 3,000 for bathroom materials. He said that the kitchen cabinets could take 4-6 weeks to come in. He promised to provide work orders to show that the items were ordered and paid for. Pat was desperate to put her home back together so she agreed and wrote him the checks. On April 4th Pat was told by Jordon and his associates that they would NOT communicate with me, her realtor. Jordan had never voiced any discomfort with communicating with me and so I felt it was strange however I told Pat that they don't have to speak with me if they don't want to. I said if anything strange happened to call me.  On April 15th Pat called me. She said Jordan Box had sent her an invoice for cabinets for $15,000. That didn't make sense since we knew the cabinets had already been paid for from the check that she had given him before the job started. The contract specifically stated that all that was owed next was a progress payment once the master bathroom, master bedroom, and 2nd bedroom were completed. Pat told me the 2nd bedroom was finished but no work had started in the kitchen and her master bathroom was not done only drywalled.I called Jordan. He verbally stated he needed the $15,000 to reimburse himself for the labor that he was out of pocket. I reminded him that the next progress payment was $8000 according to the contract. I reminded him that the agreed-upon work wasn't completed. I tried to reason with him. A plumber was scheduled for that Monday and his cost was 4500. It was not a part of the original bid so I asked Jordan if Pat could pay the plumber on Monday and pay the $8000 progress payment on Friday when the bathroom was finished and work on the kitchen had begun. All Pat wanted was for Jordan BOx to stick to the agreed contract. He actually said he was going to fire Pat as a client and didn't want to do the job anymore. He Refused to do any further work until he's been given the money and said he would give Pat until that Monday, April 28th to pay him 15000 and after that, he would charge her $400 a day.Pat did not feel comfortable moving forward because he had not finished the work he promised. She did not feel comfortable paying an additional 15,000 when she didn't have anything in writing clarifying what it was for. Pat asked me to write an email canceling the contract since she is legally blind and could not do so herself. We requested a line item from Jordan for work completed in order to finalize what was owed. The line-item Jordan sent over contained no details and he claimed Pat owed him over 17,000. I was able to correlate the line items with the estimate provided to the insurance company. I found multiple discrepancies.  I tried to address these discrepancies in several emails and texts.   I finally notified Jordan Box we'd be hiring another contractor to review the work, he claimed to have done,  and I also told him Pat would be filing a complaint if we couldn't resolve this. At that point, he told me to forward all communication to his attorney. He provided a phone number but no email. I did attempt to call his attorney. I left a message but received no callback. I had another contractor come out and to no surprise, he was able to confirm that much of what Jordan Box was trying to charge for was not done. We did reach out to the Cabinet company on April 22nd to let him know what was going on with the project. He assured me that the cabinets were paid for and our new contractor would be able to pick up the cabinets.  On June 8th we finally found out that Jordan Box had the cabinet guy return the cabinets and give him all the money back minus a restocking fee. We recently purchased a new home back in March, and we wanted to get our backyard done since we have kids and let me say I got about 6 quotes before my neighbor told me about Jordan Box at BIG, I can't thank him enough! Jordan and Adrian are very great to work with! They heard my idea and brought it to life I wanted simple with a great look and side of the yard that's just for the kids! They did my concrete patio including a 20yr sealer, installed my sprinkler valves & set everything up in our yard for my topsoil, sod, mulch, & decomposed granite! Our journey with BIG started March of 2022. We hired this company to build an 490 sq. Ft. ADU for my father who we were moving in due to his Alzheimer's Dementia among other health issues. We were quoted a price we thought was fair so we proceeded. Time was and is of the essence. So we immediately got going with a job walk, city permits and architectural drawings, so we thought. After paying for the permits and drawings we were proposed a contract that was 100K more than the original quote. In the name of inflation. Imagine our shock! Eventually settling on 87K above the verbal quote we signed, because again time was of the essence. My father is almost 90 and was very eager to get into his own space. Time frame given in writing was a completion date of Dec. 2022. Flash forward to today. Job is 80% paid for and we have a building that is dry walled and outside lathed. Plumbing and electrical done. That's it. Almost 13 months since the job walk. Multiple errors have occurred and the turn over in staff is discouraging. No one takes responsibility because they just "started with the company." We are so dissatisfied and disappointed. I moved my father from Palm Desert to here- not to live in my guest room. But to hold onto any independence he could. I feel like BIG has robbed us and him of precious time. We have filed a complaint with the State Board of Contractors in hopes to get our project done asap and to prevent BIG from putting another family through this unnecessary stress. I do not recommend this company. I recently reached out as I had received a quote before at my previous home from Jordan BOX who was responsive and informative on the pool process. I figured I would reach out again now at my new home. I informed the person I was texting that I wanted a pool and shower/tub quote. The gentleman who came, Ed, seemed nice. He took down the things we wanted for the shower/tub. And he even shared some ideas. I asked him for pictures of what he was recommending to give me a better visual of the Bathtub. We then moved on to my backyard where we discussed what I wanted for my pool and backyard. Upon him leaving he told me he would have the quote to me the next day. I reached out to Nicole via text and called requesting the quotes. She informed me that Ed would be working on it and they'd get back to me. A week later, I received the quote. At first seeing the price of the quote, I thought is this a joke? Did they give me the wrong quote? $20,000 to install a jetted tub? And to replace one wall of tile and regrout the shower? This was excessive over charge for this job. How much is the labor cost. This didn't even include tub they were installing or the tile needed to replace in the shower. When I called the company and spoke to Nicole. I told her that only the shower quote was provided. She informed me that Ed doesn't do pool quotes. I asked then why did he go over with me my pool design with me? She mentioned that Jordan will have to be scheduled to come out to give me a pool quote. At this point I felt my time was being wasted as this Ed person came out to give me a quote on the shower and the pool to find put that he doesn't do the pool quotes? Is this company for reals? However, the quote he provided me for the shower and bath was bogus. Van they even justify these costs? I mean everyone has their labor cost, but materials are you using and doing to come up with this amount? I want to be shown proof of what I am being charged. What materials are you using that this job would be 20k and your charging almost 2k to pull the permit from the county. Honestly, felt he didn't want to earn my business so he through out a crazy amount for the job knowing A. Hoping I would either be stupid enough to pay that or B. He knows that the price he quoted isn't worth it n that I would go with someone else. I'm upset my time was wasted with this company and that I consider to do business with them. I hired Builder's Innovation Group after a a round of frustrating quotes from other contractors. I turned out I absolutely hired the right one for my concrete project! It was complicated as it was an extension off of 14 yr old colored stamped concrete. Drains etc. Everyone Jordon on during the project was super friendly and professional.
