Legit burger and chili cheese fries. Don't let the lack of patrons fool you and go check it out for yourself. Food was fresh and the portions were enough for two if you're not a greedy foodie.

The food (ox tails, greens/cabbage, cornbread dressing) is really 5/5, it was seasoned wonderfully and the portions were good for plentiful leftovers. The live DJ was nice and music was very good. When I walked in, there was a not-so-long line, but it took forever. I can only assume they were waiting for food to be prepped before moving to the next person. It was cafeteria style and I really couldn't tell what the wait was.

It might have been a blessing in disguise Yelp recommended this place and we gave it a shot. We almost did not stay to eat because today was takeout only the staff said. We noticed chairs outside so opted to stay. We chose the baked chicken, the meatloaf and the fried fish. Our sides were Mac and cheese X's 3 ( so glad we did) pinto beans abd the green beans. EVERYTHING was seasoned nicely, the food was hot (except cornbread and rolls which was unfortunate) and quantities were perfect They did not have togo drinks today ( suggest to offer in the future). But we asked for water and they happily accommodated which was nice since we don't live here. All around it was a great experience and we will definitely recommend this place to friends and family! Food quality, temp, quality, variety and cost all a plus Staff attitude, accommodation all a plus.

But once you arrive, you're in for a real culinary trip south of the border. I dropped in very eager to try one of their taco plates. While the pictures on the restaurant's Facebook page had already piqued my appetite, I wanted to see for myself if they were the real deal. So, for my first meal here, I ordered the Pastor Street Tacos. Like at any good Mexican restaurant, my meal began with chips and salsa. It's an unwritten rule of mine that if the complimentary chips and salsa are good, the main dishes will be just as good, if not better. Fortunately, that rule holds true for Mr. Taco. I tried both the red and green salsas, which were truly spicy--a definite plus in my book. The tacos arrived after a few minutes. While the menu said they were miniature--there were four in total--they were a perfect portion. Anchored by marinated pork and topped with fresh onions and cilantro on corn tortillas, the tacos were accompanied by a bean-filled consomme and rice. With just one bite, I imagined myself on the streets of Guadalajara or Monterey; the authenticity was simply evident. I occasionally dipped the tacos in the consomme, which I could describe as a bit earthy and salty. Overall, the meal was incredibly enjoyable. This dish is a prime candidate for a go-to order on a return visit. I was very well taken care of by our waiter, Samuel. The meal's spiciness had me quickly finishing my water, but he kept the glasses coming without me having to ask. While working on the meal, I was parked in front of one of the business's massive TVs, which were tuned to the Astros game. That said, I consider Mr. Taco an ideal place to catch a game. It helps that it's open until 10 p.m.--or 2 a.m. on the weekends--though a staff member told me that's assuming they're not having a slow night. Price-wise, I'd say the costs are quite fair. My platter was about $13, which would be roughly three dollars more elsewhere.

At approximately $20, it's essentially a steal. Diners get a slab of bovine that nearly takes up half the plate alongside vegetables and loaded mashed potatoes. I was very impressed how my steak came out just as I requested - medium rare - and I couldn't get over how super tender and juicy it was. Maybe it's just me, but when the meat easily melts in your mouth, you have to slowly enjoy it. The veggies were fresh and seasoned nicely and the mashed potatoes came alive flavor wise thanks to the shredded cheese and bacon bits. I just wished they were a bit bigger to match the steak portions wise. As for the establishment itself, a bit noisy, but it can be easily overlooked by the laidback vibe. I really dug the music that was blasting through the speakers. One minute, it was Luke Combs. The next, Pantera. I'd say this place can be a hangout for me when I want to catch the Astros, Texans, or Rockets.

So many sports bars no longer have the electronic (auto scoring) dart boards which I love so much. Thoroughly enjoyed playing. Machine takes cash only & costs $1.50 (6, 25 cent credits) for two players to play a game of cricket for example. I would definitely return to try their wings. I ordered through the app and got it to go today. Four mild and four regular hot. I ordered the classic bone in wings. WOW!! Sooooo good. Got it with a side of veggies, nice fresh crisp celery and carrots. Ranch dipping sauce. I'm not usually a fan of ranch dressing but it complimented the meal as a dipping sauce very well. The cashier that greeted me when I walked in, according to the receipt her name is Ericka if I'm not mistaken. She is very welcoming, friendly, polite, and professional. They had Under The Boardwalk playing in the restaurant when I walked in. It's an old song by the Drifters. Good music people listened to before humanity became phone addicted. Was nice. Bunch of people eating in there looked like they just got off work and were enjoying a nice meal. They have one of those Coca Cola remix fountain drink machines in there. Once you figure out how it works it's great. I like those fountain machines. When I walked in about 15 minutes after I ordered on the app, my order was ready to go. This business gave me the impression of running like a well oiled machine. I was in and back out with my food in less than five minutes. Over all a very good experience. I'll definitely try it again sometime.

The girl at the counter had an attitude so foul it felt like it should've come with a biohazard label. From the second I stepped up, she radiated the kind of hostility that curdles milk on contact. Her expression alone could've soured the soda machine. Every word she forced out sounded like it had been dredged up from the bottom of a clogged drain--thick, bitter, and dripping with open contempt. I wasn't treated like a customer; I was treated like something she'd scraped off her shoe. The air around her felt rancid, like spoiled fryer oil that hasn't been changed in months. That wasn't customer service--it was verbal sludge poured directly onto anyone unlucky enough to stand in front of her. Her demeanor was so putrid it felt unsanitary. I genuinely questioned whether someone marinating in that much visible resentment should be anywhere near food. If she handles meals the way she handles basic human interaction, I can only imagine the level of carelessness simmering behind that counter. The entire exchange left a sour, rotten aftertaste that no amount of ranch could mask. I walked out immediately. I refuse to eat anything prepared under a cloud of that festering, toxic disdain. If that's the standard of service representing your establishment, it's not just unpleasant--it's stomach-turning.

I've been coming here for many years and my most recent visit reminded me why it's stuck around for so long. We came in for lunch on a weekday. While there wasn't a wait, it was still fairly busy with tables moving in and out. The setting is super casual - laminated menus are at the table for use. Our server this time was Kayla, who was super friendly and efficient. I normally go for the Squealer, which is almost a standard burger with lettuce, tomato, and pickles; however the burger patty is sprinkled with bacon throughout. Can you imagine just how great that smells and tastes!? The rest of the table ordered that, but this time I decided to venture out. I went for the Rodeo Burger (Southern), which comes with bbq sauce, bacon, jalapeños, cheese, and topped with their Hula Hoops (onion strings). The burger was SO BIG when it came out, they had to place the top bun next to the burger. I struggled to fit this one into my mouth, as it was so big. But delicious! The patty was juicy and all of the toppings brought the southern flavor together well. For sides, we got the Fried Mushrooms, Onion Rings, Tater Tots, and Sweet Potato Fries. Super healthy, I know. But so dang good. Everything was crispy and steaming hot as you bit into it. All of the sides are very reasonably priced - the mushrooms were under $7 and the rest were even cheaper than that for generous portions. Our table of 4 struggled to finish these, as we were already pretty stuffed from our burgers. I will always appreciate Tookie's for a solid burger in the Clear Lake/Seabrook neighborhood.
