My dad was searching for places to eat when he came across this restaurant advertising 50 cent oysters. It sounded too good to be true, so we had to try it for ourselves. When we arrived, we chose to sit upstairs to enjoy the pretty ocean view and were served right away. The vibes were great with a lively crowd, a slight breeze, sunny weather, and beach hut inspired décor. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. It is honestly impressive that they serve 50 cent oysters all day, every day, so of course we ordered three dozen. The Gulf oysters were large and fresh, and they did not skimp on the cocktail sauce or horseradish. Even though this spot is pretty far from my house, the oyster deal alone might make it worth the drive. My dad and I also ordered the Fried Mushrooms. They were fried beautifully, crispy on the outside and perfectly bite sized, which made them very addictive. Our waiter recommended the Parmesan Crusted Redfish and said it was the best item on the menu. While it was good, the Parmesan coating leaned a bit salty. That said, it was cooked well and still enjoyable. If I came back, though, I would probably try something different, like the Fish Tacos he also suggested. Overall, between the unbeatable oyster deal, friendly service, and relaxed coastal atmosphere, this restaurant makes for a fun and worthwhile outing. It's my understanding that this place has been bought by the folks at Prestige Oysters, who also own Pier 6 and Fish Company Taco. (Our server told me that this company also owns Gilhooley's in San Leon, but my research shows that it's owned by Misho's.) Either way, Noah's Ark seems better now ... cleaner ... more respectable. It's always been decent. The menu has always been varied, and the view has always been spectacular. But it always seemed that mediocre food, along with the stench of cigarettes, was the price one had to pay to come here. Not on this visit. Though the menu is a cluster bomb (they're in the process of updating it, according to Caleb, our server), the shrimp tastes like it was caught hours earlier. Additionally, it was fried to perfection. Lightly breaded and crisp. The oysters were also nicely cooked and tasted very fresh. On many previous visits, a quick trip inside to the bathroom meant walking through the stench of smoke. This place previously had a poker room. I'm not sure whether that still exists, but why do people need to smoke to play poker anyway? -- I digress. The smoke smell seems to be a thing of the past these days, though the men's bathroom had more plastic and tape over the urinals than your average bus station. All in all, I was impressed with the improvements made here. They still have some room to grow, but I am pleased to be able to come here now for the food -- in addition to the view of the Galveston Bay. read more

Had a great Sunday dinner sitting outside at Noah's today! With the weather finally getting nicer we chose Noah's because of the outdoor patio and bay view. They have a great draft beer selection with local brews and full bar as well. For app went with the Oyster Rockefeller and 1/2 dozen raw as they were on happy hour which is daily! For entrees my lady had the etouffe and I went for the admirals platter. The seafood was fresh and quantities were great. The kids went with chicken strips and both had some to bring home. Our server was attentive and friendly and the food came out super fast. There was live music upstairs but only over 21 is allowed so we will have to come back kid-free sometime! Look forward to returning to Noah's in the future as the atmosphere and location is perfect for us! read more

We went last Saturday around 4 because the weather was amazing and we have been wanting to try it since the new owners took over. Kimberly was our server, it was her second day on the floor and she was a rock star! She will be one of the best they have, ask for Kimberly. The oysters were on a special, .50 cents each! As you can see they were very big and they were delicious!! The other appetizers were really good and tasty! My husband and I finally tried Noah's Ark, as Pier 6 regulars, we had to check out their sibling restaurant. The vibe is super beachy, almost like a relaxed treehouse, and it's right on the waterfront with a gorgeous view. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Their menu leans more toward bar‑style bites with plenty of fried options. We started with the shrimp poppers, fresh shrimp wrapped in a full strip of bacon and fried to perfection. Crispy, savory, a little spicy... an excellent appetizer, and service was impressively quick. Next came Noah's Oysters, baked with garlic butter and Parmesan. You really can't go wrong with those flavors. Then we tried the Parmesan‑crusted Redfish with shrimp, and wow! beautifully plated, fresh, and the sauce was magnificent. The Parmesan crust was everything, and the touch of sun‑dried tomatoes made the dish even better. Overall, we had a great experience at Noah's. We heard that the owner appeared six also bought this restaurant recently and was working to make it better. We decided to stop by on Sunday morning around 10:30. What fun we had. Y'all, this is one of the best kept secrets and I almost hate to even put it out there. For $15 you can get a breakfast buffet with a custom omelette station, boiled shrimp, and fresh oysters along with everything else that would normally be on a buffet you can also enjoy mimosas for four dollars. We felt like we were stealing ha ha My brother and I shared a ceviche which was absolutely amazing with lots of shrimp and crab, and Buffalo wings that were excellent. Both were eight dollars. The atmosphere was relaxed, and our waiter was so sweet, accommodating, and efficient bravo Raz! You did it again. Do you know what people like you put yourself in the customer shoes. We came by noah's on the way back from kiteboarding session in Texas City. We sat on the patio which was covered in shade from the building at that point so nice place to chill and take in Galveston bay. Drinks were great and i had the fried shrimp platter. Yummy! I think they must fry them by order as they were fresh and perfectly battered. They must out something on the fries also as they were crispy. Wife had the crab cake and liked it. It had a panko crust to it. Portions are good and service is excellent staff is nice. Tiki bar on the second floor looks amazing and it is 21 and up only which I like. They allow dogs on the patio and brought out a cup for our puppy. Will be back. read more

Noah's Ark was a great experience overall. I had the parmesan crusted redfish and it was absolutely delicious -- the sauce really made the dish. My only complaint is I wish they would've given a little more of it because it was that good. The beers were cold, priced fairly, and hit the spot. Date night here was so fun! we sat outside on the water and got to eat with the kitties, which I'm sure some people wouldn't enjoy, but we loved. Four of us showed up at about 6:00pm on a Thursday night for dinner. The parking lot was full, and we wondered if we would have a wait. As it turned out, veryone was up on the deck for happy hour; we walked in and sat down with no wait. We all had the Thursday special, New York strip and baked potato, $14.99. I was hoping that because pier 6 owned it - it would have been better We asked for hot sauce and more crackers with the hot sauce from the person who brought the food and they never brought it. Stopped here for lunch with the family on the way to Kemah. The outdoor patio overlooking the water was nice. I would not recommend eating inside here. It smells really stale and of smoke, it would ruin my appetite. My pina colada was really good and the fried seafood was good. The music blaring and the songs were cussing and extremely vulgar language being used , children shouldn't have to listen to on the patio at 9 :30 on a Sunday morning and the service awful, the old lady yelling at the servers across the patio.our server didn't know what she was doing.Food came out wrong. And the tall manager(always in way too tight of high water pants in my opinion ) sitting at the host stand flirting with the hostess couldn't even be bothered to tell us bye as we were walking out looked me dead in the eye too (apparently lack of blood flow to his brain due to the pants in my opinion.)I will never be back. To start, it's a step or two above being a "Dive Bar", but I love those types of places. It is right on Galveston Bay with a great view of the water, and has both indoor and outdoor seating. It was a little cool and windy that day, so we chose to sit inside. I didn't have any of their food, only cocktails, but other customer's dishes looked fantastic, including their breakfasts. The Bloody Mary was great, and came with a condiment caddy so you could "doctor it" to you exactly your liking. The Irish coffee was good, as well (no whipped cream, though). The bartender was EXTREMELY friendly, and attentive. I will definitely be back next time I am down that way! read more

Checked out this cute idea of a restaurant. Wasn't greatly impressed , was told because of an area event they were short staffed. Seated ourselves and waited. I counted 4 waitresses and 1 waiter running around pretty frantically. Granted with the outdoor area , upstairs, and inside there were alot of customers there. Young waitress finally came over handed us a menu said I have several tickets outside so I'll be back to take your drink order, so we waited again. She finally came back asked our drink order and said again she had several tickets outside she would be back ....., I told her she had already said that and you guessed it we waited again. Finally a young man came over introduced himself as the manager, cause I'm sure she wasn't happy with my remark, and asked our order. And we waited again. Finally food arrived, where was my flatware , napkins, ketchup cause we all had French fries, the young man delivering food was very polite and ran got our eating utensils and such. No one ever came back to our table although I saw several waitresses stopping to talk to other tables. Food was mediocre French fries tasted like the fish so must be fried in the same oil. Chicken fried steak was frozen and had freezer burn taste . Charro beans had a slimy taste and sweet . I'm not usually a cranky old patron but for 70 dollars I'll have to think about returning . And yes I eat out quite a bit so I often spend way more than that and probably would have there. Gave us the wrong menu. then the correct menu was wrong. Shrimp platter said 2 sides, but it only came with slaw and hush puppies (and NO substitutions). Tiny selection of bourbon. Can we have half grilled and half fried shrimp? NO, the kitchen can't do that. Waiter was entertaining, but forgot to check if BAFL card worked (it does at Pier 6) and forgot to bring the to go Coke that he offered. We were told that part of the issues stemmed from Pier 6 acquiring Noah's Ark and preparing to simplify the menu. We enjoyed our visit with our friends, but otherwise this was not a good night for this restaurant. Maybe we'll try again when they get their act together. read more

So sad that the coconut shrimp is not the same under new ownership....It's just not the "wow" it used to be. Not even close. Prices are higher, serving sizes smaller, sides and substitutions allowed disappointing, and baskets are no longer an option. We've always LOVED Noah's Ark. You know coming here the service is going to be a touch slower, but it's a laid back place with excellent food. This morning however, my husband and I arrive at 9:55am and we're seated outside. At 10:20am we left after not being acknowledged a single time by any employee (including what appeared to be a manager of sorts with a navy shirt and white and navy blouse over it). To boot, there was a large party next to us that had reservations, were seated before us and had JUST gotten waters as we left. Not sure what is going on under the new management but this isn't the same place we know and love. read more

I really wanted to really like this place. Great vibes, great view, very beachy with its Tiki look. That's where the good ends. Food: the gumbo just doesn't seem like a roux gumbo, very tomato-y, more like seafood creole than gumbo. It did have flavor, but not really gumbo. The coconut shrimp, while you get a fair amount for the price, tasted like basic frozen coconut shrimp from a bag, bland, and their dipping sauce really lacked. Should be a marmalade type dip, not thin runny pina colada sauce. Fries and hush puppies basic and bland. Food was priced fair tho. Service: nice waitress but she was extremely lost on the orders and VERY slow on the drinks. Probably won't come back, but if I did it would be for a few drinks and that's it. read more

Love this spot and eating out on the patio during all you can eat buffet. Plenty of options on the buffet. Seemed like the servers are spread thin, so don't order off of the menu during the buffet. Friendly wait staff, good food and great view. The motorcycles do not bother us but if noise is a problem you might to sit inside but I believe you can smoke inside. read more
