I got the South of the Border (1/2 beef burger, chorizo, fried egg and,pepper jack). So you order your burger and it is made with your choice of protein and cheese. Don't let the name fool you. It's real 100% American beef. "Beyond" usually means some weird and unnatural soy/tofu/bean vegan nonsense. It's real beef from cows and it's delicious. Love the burgers! We've been going to this place for years. I'm super glad that they made it through Covid. The burgers are great. The restaurant is in a good location. It's convenient and the service is quick cause you just go up in order. They have plenty of tables for parties, and they have veggie burgers for those that can't eat meat. I like their sides. I really miss their Asian slaw, but I love that they have coleslaw on the veggie table! They're very well priced. I would suggest Beyond burgers to anybody that wants a a good burger! About a mile or so from my house, Beyond Burger didn't get my business until now, uh, today. However, I've technically been in the building it occupies when it used to be a Chinese buffet. Alright, back to the present. I'd say this is a very good place to have that quintessential American fast food classic. I ordered a ribeye steak sandwich plus wedge fries. The kitchen staff got the steak (which I had cooked medium rare), the grilled onions, and mushrooms to mash up just right. Before working on the sandwich, I added red onions and a pickle from the salad bar in the center for tang. It was ooey gooey yet oh-so tasty. As delicious as the sandwich was, I just wish the bun didn't fall apart under the weight of the meat and filling. It was like eating an Italian beef -- Chicagoans know what I mean -- and while that isn't a bad thing, I prefer not having to use a spoon and/or fork the finish the contents that spilled out. Still, that won't stop me from ordering the sandwich during a future visit. I have some good news for those with a thing for dessert(s): you can get a cookie for free with your meal. Atmosphere-wise, it's laid-back and family-friendly. Very Americana with retro gas pumps, posters, and an old-school arcade. The employees are very nice. They have a condiment bar where you can add your choice of toppings, sauces, and seasonings to your burger. Got the Caesar Salad for my side and sister got onion rings. This place has a legit veggie burger. I had the vegan burger, which was a homemade patty with whole grains, mixed greens, fresh herbs, and spices. It was really good! There is a burger bar where you can get condiments, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles etc... The french fries were also really good. My daughter had the grilled cheese, and she was happy with it.
