We stopped here on Tuesday evening. We came from the river. Plenty of dock space and minimal people there. We sat at the bar and ordered the pretzel sticks and a pizza. Pretzel sticks were good bar food, the pizza was nothing to write home about. In fact the cheese wasn't completely melted and they forgot 3 of our toppings. While it had decent flavor I was nothing special. The atmosphere is fun so if you want to be on the water with drinks this is it. read more

Stopped on Friday evening for Friday fish fry. We tried the beer battered haddock and perch. The batter was light, but absorbed too much grease that after two fillets both of our stomachs didn't feel the greatest. On a positive note, they must make their own coleslaw as it was delicious with a creamy tang to it. Cool laid back marine yet mechanical atmosphere. Its worth checking out, but for us, we wont be ordering the fish again. Instead we'll be trying another item on the menu. read more

Very cool location right on the river. They had the basic tap beer selection and a full bar. Looked like there was only one or two waitstaff working but they handled all of the tables pretty well considering it was quite busy. We started out with the pot roast nachos which I thought was a unique nacho topping. They had a good amount of cheese and sour cream but could have benefitted from some red onion and tomato. The fish fry was top notch. It looked like the fillets were deep fried with capers (?) not sure if that added much flavor but the beer batter overall was very good. My husband ordered the duck tenders which were a little dry but he still picked at them. The menu was large and I was tempted by the mahi mahi salad so we might have to stop again on our next trip up north! read more

The service was poor, the hamburger for two children was raw. Wouldn't take it off the bill. Nachos had no sour cream, no jalapeños, meat was dried out. No silver ware, she had to try and find some. The manager did take off two dollars for a 12 dollar burger. Sad ! Nice looking place could be a gold mine if managed well! Won't go back. read more

I have been coming to Bullheads for many years. Things have changed hands, menus, buildings etc. This summer's experiences have been great. There is plenty of outside seating and an incredible view. The service has been excellent. They have a couple young, hustling college kids providing incredible service. In these Covid times, it is the perfect choice for dining and a nice meal. Only area for improvement would be additional sandwiches. The broasted chicken, fish, shrimp and other specialities are incredible! read more

Sunday afternoon, place empty except for 5 people. Ordered a plain Bloody Mary. Hmm, not a menu choice; must have five veg selections, squiggle cheese, meat stick. Price about $9. Bad thing is that with only a pickle it still is $9. No celery salt rim, no lemon wedge but still comes with a chaser. Ok, but mine came with a tiny plastic cup of chaser. But the couple that came in got a glass chaser. Ok, i want to start a tab at the bar because i am going to order dinner. No can do! If you order the drink with the dinner then that is fine but no bar tabs. Hello! this is September not the middle of tourist summer. To add a little more insult I had to ask for the bartender's name. Then she disappeared only to come back to get her phone to take it outside and play on it. STAY AWAY. MY EXPERIENCE IS VIRTUALLY THE SAME EVERY TIME. Zero customer service. Came in on Friday for fish fry. The place was packed! The host informed us that it would be about 45 minutes for a table. We were already here, so we decided to stay and wait. Had a seat at the bar and were promptly served. The bartender asked if we wanted to order right away so that the food would be ready sooner when a table opened up. Finally got a table, told the waitress that we had already ordered, then found out that there was a mix-up in the kitchen. They got that straightened out, and our food arrived shortly after. All of our food was very good. If I had to knock this place for something, I'd say that the atmosphere is too pleasant ... people don't want to leave, so the tables don't turn over fast enough ;) read more

We stopped in for the Sunday Specials: $3 Bloody Mary's and 1/2 off appetizers with a vegetarian toddler. Atmosphere was a typical WI NASCAR Sunday, busy yet on the quiet side. Great for families. Michael and Chef John were very accommodating for our son and allowed us to order off menu. I had the Portabella Planks and sadly ate all of them! Yummy! As for Klay's review... Camping at Rivers Edge, decided to try their Friday fish fry. Cole slaw and sweet potato fries were good, fish was awful. Very heavy greasy breading, peeled it off to discover small fish filets that were not tasty. Won't order their fish fry again. Others in group had a French dip and chicken wrap - meals were mediocre. Nothing to rave about. Will cook at the campsite from now on, not worth the price. read more

Food is good , and the view is great , servers when we came here were very attentive, (though it's usually blocked by a translucent screen) appetizers are kind of meh though. Also they don't give out their WiFi password. All in all a good place but not the best place. read more

We were in Wisconsin for graduation and had dinner at Bullheads. The food was great. Atmosphere was good...nicely decorated...and the staff was very friendly and attentive...It is also by the campground. We will be back soon to eat there!! read more

The atmosphere here is very nice which is why I gave it a star. It's out of the way to get to but we weren't concerned with that. We eat out a lot and the location would have been worth it if the service was good. Can't comment on the food because we never got to eat it. It took almost an hour of waiting so we canceled our order and left. None of the staff came over to let us know that the wait would be so long, that would have gone a long way with us. Staff seemed cold and unwelcoming, no smiles. We won't be going back. read more

Been here for more than 30 minutes. Sat for 10+ before bartender finally took our order. Appetizer just arrived. (Regret ordering meals). It's not busy -- just horribly disorganized. Wait staff has to run outside to serve those customers, then back in for those of us in the bar area. (Smart restaurants assign outdoor tables to some servers, indoors to others). Asked for the WiFi password -- apparently, they don't share (seriously?? In THIS day & age??) But the bartender gave us some cute little bullshit story about how they have satellite internet, and allowing customers to access it will "use it all up" (his exact words). Apparently, it's far more important for the STAFF to be able to use their phones. It's now been more than an hour since we arrived. Appetizer was finished 15 minutes ago. Still no food. Still NOT busy. Hubby inquired about our food -- got a rather snotty response from the waitress, who went into the kitchen to "check", & came out with our food. Judging by our cold fries, I'm sure it's been sitting there a while. Follow-up: waitress did bring fresh fries (really good -- as was my meatball sandwich & Hubby's mahi.) This is one of our favorite places to hang out on the open or covered patio and watch the river. The food has always been really good and the Bloody Mary's and Moscow Mules are awesome. The atmosphere has sports/ boating/ recreational decorations with a nice modern flare including granite top bar. the bathrooms are spacious and clean. My only complaint is that inside, it is a bit echoey and I wish they had more pub height tables. read more

I've been there 3 times on motorcycle and have yet to get a drink. I sit at the outdoor bar with the money in front of me and am completely ignored. If I see a bartender, which is not very often, they act like I'm not even there. Three times is enough. I will never be back. read more

My son took us out for an early Mother's Day dinner. We arrived at 630 and were told we could sit immediately inside or out. We chose outdoors with view of water. Beautiful. He ordered the prime special and was told gone. Gone at 630 as a special? Ordered the baseball sirloin as did my hudband. As 745 was approaching and still waiting on food we moved inside to continue our wait. Some of our food arrived 10 minutes later. The steaks were over cooked. My husband didn't get his baked potatoe instead it was instant mashed cool temp potatoes. My sandwich was last to arrive another 10 min later. Our server was nice and apologetic and offered a discount. When the bill arrived we were surprised to see with discount of one round of drinks (only had 2 total in 2 hours) the bill was 105 dollars. The baseball steaks were $25 each. definitely overpriced. The other two items were A sandwhich and the broasted chicken plus one round of drinks (2 beers 2 cocktails) amazing. Needless to say we won't be in a hurry to go back. It is a shame since with the summer views and the remodeling etc we had talked about coming often. It's obvious they need to look at staffing their kitchen with more qualified cooks. And figure a way to speed up the lag time read more
