This was my second time at the Museum Theatre. Watched the Mesmerica XL Showing both times. Amazing. The layout of the theatre was a tad like a college auditorium, only more comfortable. We had VIP seating which enhanced our viewing experience. If you have that chance to see this show, highly recommend

Not only can you see some great movies in IMAX, they have the best popcorn in town. Hands down. After 5, parking is free in the museum garage. Also, this museum is just well done. Go check out some Texas history and a flick!

Came for the screening of Renee Fleming's Cities That Sing. Overall, very much enjoyed the film and the theater. The theater is very well maintained and state of the art. Look forward to other screenings at this location.

Wow that's a TRUE IMAX experience! Right when we walked into the theater, my brother remarked that this screen is BIG. We watched Wonder Woman 1984, and the giant immersive screen combined with booming, in your face sound system really took it to another level! By the end of the movie, the highlight of our experience was definitely the facility! (Which possibly says something about that particular movie...) Specifics: We got to the theater about an hour before the 4PM showtime and were the 3rd party in line. At 3:16PM they started letting us into theater to be seated. There is no reserved seating here. We went on 12/26/2020 and every other row was blocked out. The staff instructed us to pick whatever row and move as close to the center as possible. After we sat down, staff came over to tape up the 3 seats to the left and right of us to enforce social distancing. I felt very safe during this visit, and also enjoyed having this room to put my jacket and belongings. Of note, the theater GETS COLD. Bring a decent jacket.

Ask the Community - Bullock Museum IMAX Theatre

What are the seats like? I'm guessing since they don't even have reserved seating they probably haven't updated to the nicer style reclining seats either?

Thank you for your question! Seating in the IMAX Theatre is on a first-come-first-serve basis and we do not offer reclining seats. Visit our FAQ page for more information: https://www.thestoryoftexas.com/visit/plan-your-visit/faq

The managers that handled the situation were extremely rude, and basically dismissed everything I said like I was a liar or something. I didnt make a big deal out of it because I just saw it as a simple misunderstanding because apparently refills are only honored once and that's it throughout the day. Apparently, not every employee honors that policy. From that point on, I usually abide by their policy, regardless, of what their other employees tell me. After all, I used to work in customer service myself almost my entire life, so I understand what employees that work at stores, theaters and etc go through daily. However, this hasn't stopped one of the managers that handled the situation to give me death glares every time I come into the theater. She doesnt greet me with a smile, nor say "your welcome" whenever I say thanks when she does help me out a few times since that incident. I reported this person already to Regal directly, and I dont believe she's been punished accordingly for her rudeness, and lack of customer service. I dont expect every employee I meet at a service outlet to be buddies with me. That would be absurd, but I do expect to be greeted with a smile and customer service if im paying money into your establishment, regardless if you like me or not. I dont feel that's unreasonable to ask for. This includes service with a smile. Granted, most of the managers there are cool people, and I get along with them just fine. However its their main manager, whos name I won't mention because I dont want to doxx her. However, I will warn people that the employees aren't always consistent about their policies which can create issues and misunderstandings.

I asked to have another sandwich made with hot French fries, and the second sandwich came back the same exact way as the first. And cold French fries again! This last time I went to the movies. They couldn't find my account where I've been collecting points for several years. Something happened between June 2 when I went to the movies and they found my account with my phone number. Come June 9th, just a week later, my phone number doesn't bring up my account. My email doesn't either. Completely gone. When I got home from the movies I sent an email, asking what happened. They said they can't see anything. I ended up creating a new account. But I lost all my reward points. Now I'm starting from scratch. I did send another email asking if they can search for my original account, or what happened with the points I accumulated over 4 years. Got nothing back and now it's the weekend, so maybe I'll hear back this next week. Who knows. Maybe we are seeing a fall in movie theaters. I have now started ordering at the bar because the food has been incorrect. At least I can talk and explain the food to someone without whispering in the theater, and disturbing others watching the previews or the movie. I ordered The lemon pepper wings with chips and salsa. The chips were stale. Which whatever. I really just wanted the wings, which were great. Nice strong lemon flavor, and the pepper was perfect. Wings are good. French fries are cold, and chips are stale. Mojito was great. My experience just gets worse. There is another movie theater near where I work. So maybe I'll just switch theaters.

The lobby is also a nice place to hang out before or after your movie with a full bar, a pool table, and plenty of family games to play. Not only do they have good food and "bottomless" popcorn bowls, they also sponsor fun preview events to their special Victory fan club members, of which I am one. At the Power Ballad preview, they awarded a guitar to the first person to jump up and name the director (John Carney). I didn't win. The theater is definitely geared to film buffs and not the normal blockbuster movie goer, with posters from current and classic films decorating the walls. My relationship with Alamo has been long, like I've gone since Spike and Mike's used to do sick and twisted festival of animation events. It's my go to. It's my don't-go-to-other-theaters-out-of-loyalty spot. The last few times have been beyond subpar. I didn't want to believe it was over. Tonight, I went for Spiderman at 11:30 PM. I've been promising this to my husband as a date night. It was the one and only time we had a sitter (we have a 6 week old child and a 1.5 year old - so it's been a while since date night). Husband is service industry, and it was literally the only time we had a sitter after he was off of work. We ubered to Alamo, which cost about $13. We paid for the sitter. We get to Alamo and they're closed. We get shit happens, but let Victory members know in advance. Even a 30 minute heads up would have saved us an uber ride or allowed us time to find tickets elsewhere or have a date alternative. Nothing. The staff were apologetic, but didn't seem all that concerned about it. They told me I'd get a refund, that's it. No vouchers to another show. No voucher for food/drinks. The vouchers were sitting in front of the cashier and would have made a world of difference, but she acted indifferent and never offered them. Just a "yeah sorry, you'll get a refund in 3-5 business days". What about the refund for the time, ubers to/from, and sitter? That's where vouchers could have somewhat saved the day. It wasn't important to staff or Alamo because it wasn't their time, ubers, babysitters, or incredibly needed date night. I wasn't even a Karen about it. I tried to tell her I'm sorry she had to deal with issues at the theater and that it probably sucked for staff as much as it does customers, so I get it. Not her fault. She just acted very WHATEVER. RIP Alamo. We will not be back. This could have been fixed, but it wasn't and there was no real effort. They have my email from my Victory account, so why no heads up so we could try to catch the film elsewhere? Why no extra effort to give vouchers? Hell, if we got to the counter and were told the card on file was refunded, that tiny effort would have been something. Alamo was built for people who LOVE cinema. It had a loyal following, but everything that we loved about it is dead and gone. It's sad seeing the current "Alamo" corpse be paraded like Weekend at Bernie's. So instead, we will stream at home once it's available. We will partake in what's killing cinema because Alamo just killed it for us. Thanks but no thanks.
