I brush my car front bumper against one of the post in the garage at my work while reversing. A small part of the bumper near the light and the wheel lifted with a few small scratches. I wanted a quick and convenient repair so I checked google and found bumper buddies and they come to your work or home. In my case it would be work. I called them and female answered. I told her what had happened and she requested I text a picture of the damage and the care year and model and my location. no problem, so good so far. After I text the picture of my car bumper and the model and yea ( Camry - 2022) she texted back and said your request has been canceled with no explanation. No further response, no nothing. This was horrific customer service and I was shocked to see the rudeness, unprofessional behavior and disrespect shown to a potential client. I shall never recommend this place of business to anyone. So grateful for Bumper Buddies and service technician Alex who came the day after I contacted them via Yelp for a quote. Alex was quick to assess the random tiny vertical scratches I found on the front passenger door a couple weeks ago, provide me with a price, and also explain that the results would be better but not perfect ("perfect" would require a very expensive paint job to do the whole door if not the back door and panels around it). For the price, I said heck yes, let's do it! The day before I'd taken my car to two different local body shops and also got quotes from Yelp businesses. The body shops quoted $900 and $1500 -- not to mention a minimum of four days in the shop, which would require me to get a rental car. The quotes from the Yelp businesses were about $500-900. Ouch. My car is brand new and I'd like to keep it in great condition for as long as I can but to spend that kind of money on a few tiny scratches made me cringe. But for Alex to try his best and simply promise better-but-not-perfect without breaking the bank? Well heck yeah, sometimes that's good enough. But it was far exceeded good enough! Alex was right -- it WAS better! I can't even tell where the biggest scratch is up close unless I run a fingernail around the area and find it (it was deep enough that it got close to the metal). Alex buffed and even sanded it -- and within 30 minutes, my car was in tiptop shape again! I'm so grateful that Alex and Bumper Buddies were so responsive and communicative and I never felt once like I was being taken advantage of or hustled. (I'm also grateful they're mobile.) When I requested a quote, not only did I get a quote quickly online but someone even called me to confirm the appointment a few hours later. Alex came within the two-hour time frame that was promised. It was a super professional all-around experience and I'm so appreciative! By the way, the pictures are hard to really see the scratches because my car is black and reflects the car parked next to it but I did the best I could to capture before and after pictures. What an amazing service! If I could marry you, Bumper Buddies, I would! So I bumped by bumper a bunch of times (see what I did there...hee!) because the parking area in my building is so cramped and now they're doing construction and I literally cannot manoeuvre my car to get out. So annoying! What's the use of having a parking space if you're blocked in! Well, I solved that problem finally with my super nice landlord and then it came time to deal with the mashed bumper. Mashed potatoes-deliciousness; mashed bumpers not tasty at all! It was just a corner of the bumper. Not the whole thing. My car is old but I love it and it's in nice shape otherwise. I felt so bad that i mashed it and I didn't want to look like that person driving around a janky car in LA, I mean it's vintage but vintage + damage = old + haggard and i can't have that. I am a lady after all!! In any event we got a quote from a body shop that we've used before but it was just more than my budget could allow and also they wanted to replace the whole bumper which seemed excessive. I felt that it could be patched and painted to look a ton better, maybe not exactly perfect but good enough that no one would ever know. So enter Bumper Buddies to the rescue! They reviewed my photos of the damage over the phone and gave an extremely reasonable estimate. We were lucky enough to get an appointment the next day. They come to your house and fix your bumper!?!!! When I told my sister she was like, I need a minute to process this insane information! Haha! They're so booked that maybe someone canceled because the next avail was well into September. They gave me a two hour appointment window and then Dave, the magic bumper man, messaged me on his way. Dave was super friendly, nice, low key and extremely knowledgeable and talented! I told him the story and he looked at it and explained his plan and then confirmed the estimate price. I also asked him if he could fix a few scratches caused by the unruly bushes of our neighbor in the driveway. Are you noticing a pattern here of maintenance issues - wait no, it can't be! All of Los Angeles is pristinely maintained, right ?!? Lol So the amazing Dave took care of those scratches for a nominal amount more. Then I went inside to work for the afternoon and he spent about 4 hours give or take fixing my bumper. It even rained a little bit (in August !!?) and he had an easy up that he put over my car to protect his work from the rain. His small van had everything in there! Bigger on the inside! (Points to anyone who knows that TV reference!) On a technical note, they take your paint color in advance and Dave had it with him when he arrived. DID I MENTION HE CAME TO MY HOUSE AND DID BODY WORK TO MY CAR?!? For less than half the price of the body shop. The work was miraculous! You would never know anything happened except that this corner looks better than the other corner now. I have to take the car to therapy now because one side hates the other now. You can't win here, LA makes you and your car crazy! I'm kidding, but not really. Dave also perfectly fixed the scratches on my door panels. I will post some before and after pictures later. At the end of the day, my car looked fab and Dave was a superhero. My wallet was not set on fire (at least not by Bumper Buddies-if only they could be The Inflation Buddies too!). I got my work done because I didn't spend all day traveling to and fro to a body shop having to pay for a Lyft and just generally have my day wrecked. What a dream! I also always like to point out auto service shops that are respectful to women and make me feel comfortable because I think it's important. He then told me his car would be in the shop for a few days and he couldn't make it. "I apologize." They answered my calls and came ASAP to my house to fix my Cadillac, Mr. David G. Did great on my vehicle and couldn't be happier. Only thing I will say is that there are small bumps under the paint you can feel. And it seems like some area on the lip of where he fixed has come off a little bit. These guys are the BEST!! Eddie was so cool and fun to talk to! My bumper was hanging down on both sides and I explained all of the issues I've had and he listened carefully to everything and used my information to determine the problem. That's what I liked the best, he didn't just want "fix" it, he wanted to understand why there was a problem to begin with, what caused it. He did finally determine that and made sure that the repairs were done in such a way that that problem would not occur again.
