I opted for the St. Patrick's special of Shepherds Pie which was served piping hot!Ground beef was the base of this hearty dish. The waitress was efficient, but I wish she had explained the Shepherds Pie was smothered and cover with mashed potatoes. I would have chosen a side other than mashed potatoes. The fried okra was steamy hot, crunchy and delish. Pembroke is fortunate to have this locally owned restaurant serving a tasty variety of eats.

It arrived missing the bacon, with a sad looking slice of tomato, the hamburger patty appearing pre-patted frozen, as well as the typical frozen crinkle fries. Frankly, the hamburger reminded me of and tasted like the school cafeteria variety. The seasoning on the crinkle fries was a sad attempt to elevate their frozen status. And, it's summertime and tomato season. Why bother serving a hamburger with an underripe tomato? Lastly, there's no excuse for a local business to not support the local, nearby shrimping industry. Buy local and serve Georgia shrimp.

The portion was tiny, the food was completely different, and the rice honestly looked like it had already been chewed. The new yellow rice and refried beans were a huge downgrade from what they used to serve. If I wanted bad Mexican food, I guess I found it. We also splurged on the new doughnuts, and those were just as disappointing -- old, dry, and absolutely not worth the money. The attitude is still bad, the prices are still way too high, and now the food isn't even good enough to excuse it.
