Closed for good sold to developers sad nice track but housing and money is more important than open spaces

This course is a little hidden gem. But you have to know when you go what you are getting. It's 9 holes and is designed for the average golfer so it's not too long and it is very open. I've been playing there over 10 years and the course is always in excellent condition. The greens are always nice, but they don't run too fast. Tees and fairways are the best part of the course, always pristine. They have a grass range and putting green, but no practice sand trap. As one other reviewer noted, some of the fairways run parallel to each other so it is true, you have to be careful of the errant tee shot from other holes. Trees do line each hole so I believe this will be less of an issue as the course matures. On the positive side, you lose less golf balls here than any New England course I know. Toughest hole, #6, a long slight dogleg left. By the way, another reviewer, Matthew, gave the course 1 star for not letting his girlfriend tag along. No golf course does this, you get 1 star for being a bad reviewer, especially when you consider the nature of the course set up and the risks. The course can be slow on weekends and late afternoons because of high volume of play and a high level of beginners on the course so be aware of that. Known as "The shooting gallery" the holes run parallel to each other the entire course, making it very very dangerous!! When someone yells "FORE", cover your head and cover your testicles, because there is an incoming golf ball traveling at about 155 mph. read more

Brought my girlfriend along to be my caddy (she did not want to play). Also went with my parents, who were playing. Course pro didnt allow my gf on the course. She had to wait in the car. Not the best customer service. Will never play here again. read more

This course discriminates against people with disabilities. They wouldn't let us golf with our own friends and we're trying to force one of us to golf with a single even though we only had 4. The man came out yelling and was so rude. He had no respect for anyone wanting to golf. Do not go here. The staff sucks and the course is awful. read more

Went there a few days ago. Place is in very good shape. The range is on the grass right now too, which I like better than mats. Open layout, so I find the coarse forgiving, but there are a few challenges along the way too. Nice club, just a tad pricey (Fridays are weekend rates), but makes for a good golf experience. read more

Played our 8th round here last week, Bungay is a hidden gem, 9 holes with excellent condition. Cart path only for carts is annoying. The staff is great, helpful and takes good care of you with tee times and carts. The snack shack and bathrooms are a huge plus most courses don't have. Teed off to play 9 holes right after the last group of their Tuesday morning league. I finished my round +1, and by that i mean I have +1 giant dent in my car door. Considering it was only their league guys at the course, I informed the pro shop and I the best answer I got was "well, some of the guys are pretty old. Maybe they hit it and didn't even realize?" As always, everyone understands and offers the obligatory "wow that sucks" but of course there's nothing anyone can ever do. The course takes zero responsibility for the conduct of their league (including the guy who while I was walking to my ball, picked it up, put it in his pocket, and drove away). No one came to look at the damage to my car and it honestly seemed like they either weren't surprised or couldn't be bothered. I certainly wont be spending another cent at this course, especially since the money I could be spending there will now be spent fixing my car door. read more
