Our wedding was at Crystal Lake on 10/25/25. Crystal Lake is an absolutely gorgeous wedding venue! The event staff, especially Kayla, Kailey, Lauren, were wonderful and Kailey and Lauren made sure our wedding day ran smoothly. They even helped my mom bustle my dress! From the outdoor ceremony overlooking the lake to the reception in their simple and modern event space, Crystal Lake was the prefect backdrop for our beautiful celebration. The food was also a highlight, and guests specifically told me how much they enjoyed their meal. I'm so happy we chose Crystal Lake for our wedding. Crystal Lake is a very popular wedding/event venue and there may be more than one event the week or even weekend of your wedding, so my one tip is to decide early if you want other events your wedding weekend (like your rehearsal dinner) to also be at Crystal Lake so that you can get on their calendar. Had my bridal shower at Crystal Lake about a week and a half ago and it was perfect. Kayla was the coordinator and she was a dream to work with! Always checked in and helped where I needed her. We used the front half of the waterfront room and the are is stunning with the new renovations. The food was good. We had the brunch menu and everyone was happy. They had options for gluten free and if someone had dietary restrictions. Would 100% recommend having your event here. Usually, I love playing this course. Today, however, they were sending groups off the first tee and the 10th tee simultaneously. I had a very early tee time, and played the front nine in less than two hours. I then had to wait at the 10th for two groups to tee off ahead of me because they gave tee times and were sending people off the 10th tee. I'm not sure if this is a new policy, but it is enough to make me go elsewhere. There are plenty of nice courses around that don't make you wait 20 minutes after playing the front nine before you can start the back nine read more

Mother's Day brunch. Gross. Tasteless breakfast pastry, water scrambled eggs, tasted powdered, EGGO waffles, cold and tough. Watery fish, dry pilaf, mushy pasta, and rock hard biscuits for strawberry shortcake. Waitstaff was rude with a miserable face on, never came around to offer coffee. We went to get it ourself and the guys snapped and said your server gives you that' we told him 'not happening" It was $40/adult and $20 fir kids. What a rip off! This review is specifically for the Tavern. It is with regret that I write this negative review. The outdoor patio is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the summer weather and the inside of the Tavern itself, while unremarkable is not unappealing. The food quality seems to have suffered as of recent, but is not terrible. However the service (unless you are a regular member of the golf club) is absolutely terrible. There are a few waitresses that are good, but overall there are some that the younger ones appear to be even afraid of. I am not a member of the club, but did frequent the Tavern on a semi regular basis. The last time I went though, is the the last time I will subject myself or my guests to the deplorable service I received the last time I was there. We seemed to be a nuisance as we were not regulars and were treated as such. The waitress completely ignored us unless she absolutely had to come to our table. 30 minutes to just get her to take our order. Once the food was served, crickets. But the socializing with the regulars was very consistent. So if you are looking for a beautiful place to be ignored with mediocre food, Crystal Lake Tavern is your place! read more

Attended a wedding here. This is review of the cuisine served. Apps included stuffed mushrooms, mini crab cakes, & bacon wrapped scallops. All of them were delicious. I popped crab cakes like skittles. The mushrooms were flavorful & cooked perfectly. Dinner was a white fish stuffed w/some kind of sweet stuffing, mashed potatoes, & green beans. The fish was cooked impeccably, it was tender & moist. I wasn't a fan of the sweet-ish stuffing & still wasn't sure what it was, almost sweet potato like & baby food texture. The mashed potatoes were so good, creamy & had a good flavor of cream/butter. First, the positives. A beautiful clubhouse overlooking the 18th green. A nice bar. Decent pro shop. Very nice members' locker room. The greens are in very good condition. Fairways and tee boxes are in good shape. A well-stocked beer cart. Pleasant people. Now the negatives. It's a shooting gallery. Seriously. There are several areas where fariways and tee boxes are such that you have to be on guard for incoming errant golf balls. Sure, there is some possibility of that no matter where one might play. But this course really brings that concept front and center. As my playing partner said "It seems like they had room for 9 holes, maybe even 13; then shoved 18 in." 6,349 yards from the longest tees for a par of 71 . I love this course. The staff is excellent and always takes care of me. I love playing here in the winter because the course stays dry like no other around. Great layout challenging yet manageable. This is a review of the restaurant only. We arrived Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. The inside and patio had a few guests. It was not very busy. We requested to sit outside with a party of five. The first response from the hostess was "we only seat tables of four outside". One of the waitresses saw our disappointment and told the host to seat us outside at the furthest table. Clearly they didn't make a good first impression The waitress was friendly and seemed to know the menu, and made appropriate recommendations. Our waitress, as nice as she may have been, did not need to air out the dirty laundry of the other staff members while waiting on us. The food arrived in a reasonable manner time. And the waitress came by a few times to check on our meals. The location where people were allowed to smoke was right outside the door leading to the restaurant and in very close proximity to a table of guests. Personally I would've liked to see the smoking area on the other side of the building away from people who were eating. Probably won't visit again. read more

So some comments on the golf experience during COVID-19 and during the same week the governor asked everyone to be aware we were at a turning point. The pro shop was open and multiple people were walking in to pay. Distancing was not being observed. On top of that the man taking payment on Friday the 7th of August, around 12:50, was not wearing a mask and there was no plexiglass separator in place. When asked why he was not wearing a mask he said he had two nearby, but made no effort to put one on. Tee times were running right on time so given it was near 1 PM that was a good sign. The starter also was not wearing a mask and was riding with his 'side-kick who also was not wearing a mask. One of us rode a cart and three of us walked. On a scale of 1-10 where 10 is extremely walker friendly I'd rate this as a 6. You can walk it without too much effort but there are some very long and sometimes steep walks from green to tee on several holes. I'd say walk but be mindful of some long steep climbs. Pace of play was very good though we may have lucked out as we never had anyone in front of us. We finished 18 in 4 hours and 20 minutes and at times we seemed to be holding up the group behind us. A COVID-19 disappointment on the course was the young woman serving beverages and snacks from a mobile cart. She also did not wear a mask and when asked if she had one she just said no but offered to have us reach into the snack box ourselves rather than her touching it. That was nice but did nothing to stop potential spread from this pleasant 19 or 20 something. In terms of availability she was around the course quite regularly and that was a very good thing. Most courses have not figured that out. At the end of the round we were going to stop off for a cool drink but decided not to as the patio was packed and the bar inside was crowded as well. There was no plexiglass separation between bartender and customers and the bartender we saw around 5:20, wore a mask over her mouth but not her nose Rates for golf were fair. $33 Over 60 rate for walking versus $40 standard rate. Course was in very good condition though greens were slow but true. We were a bit disappointed by the odd positioning of the 4th and 5th holes which were basically a backwards L and a regular L divided by out of bound stakes and having several blind shots. Besides that it's a nice playable layout if not very tight in some places raising risks from errant shots. Probably won't be back here until COVID-19 is under control. read more

Very Underwhelming I attended a wedding last week and I guess I was expecting more. The weather may have been a factor as well, but overall it was a strange setting. The ceremony took place in a very cold dim room that really seems quite dismal. The meal was prime rib and there was nothing Prime about it. Honestly one of the worst I have ever had. No seasoning and the beef was let's say not even choice. A positive thing was the bar and the servers. All of the employees were very friendly and accommodating. The bartenders were great. HUGE menu, easy parking, beeyootiful outdoor seating = my kinda place. They always have a kajillion specials, never seen anything like it. They have a sandwich - I think it's patented - it's ground up prime rib, sauteed onions, bound together with melted cheese. In a torpedo roll. Really? You're calling me a liar? Take it back! The sandwich exists and is delicious!! The back patio is an oasis of cool and calm. It's on a hill overlooking the golf course and a small lake. (no, not a pond, it's bigger than a pond). If you find yourself out in the wilds of northwestern Rhode Island, try it. read more

Were do i start. Let's go in reverse. After a round of golf i unfortunately went to the tavern. I had heard that they served a full menu not just hot dogs and chips after your round. The menu was large but was written 30 years ago. Let's have chicken marsala at a golf tavern, yeah ok, maybe in the, late 80s. The entire menu was boring and tired very tired. The only reason i felt comfortable giving them even one star was that the drink menu was really updated and fun it was the size of a placemat! The service was ok. The drinks were good, i had a Mulligan The course had great views but was very tight. I was almost killed on #12. Overall the course is fine the tavern needs to step into this millennium. I know Burrillville is out there geographically but it isnt that far not to know how to right a menu one a decade. read more

We went for a banquet dinner. The venue itself is very pretty outside, the inside is ok. The servers were ok, but not great. The salad that came out was wilted for everyone at my table. Another table also made the same comment. The main dish was chicken, green beans and potatoes. I had pre-ordered the vegetarian option. They brought me a plate of the green beans, potatoes and added corn in the place of the chicken. The corn was hard, to make it even worse. I asked the waitress if this was the only option. She said they ran out of the vegetarian option and that it was a pasta dish and they are making some more, but it would be a awhile. There was no apology and she was not even going to tell me about what happened. The dessert was a sundae bar we paid extra for. Everyone enjoyed the dessert. The meal itself was extremely disappointing and the fact that I paid $32 for ice cream and a plate of sides was ridiculous. read more

I was not sure what to expect of Crystal Lake as we drove up to attend a wedding, but it was great! The gazebo where the ceremony was held was gorgeous! Right on the water, under the shade of trees. The clubhouse where the reception was held was adorable! It was the perfect size for the number of guests (around 125). The patio was lovely offering people a chance to watch the beautiful sunset. The food was good, no complaints there! The one drawback was that the place was freezing! read more

We picked Crystal Lake to hold our wedding this past June. I cannot say enough positive things about this venue. Tracy, the wedding coordinator, is one of the most dedicated and professional people I have met. From the first viewing of the grounds to the final minutes of our big day, she was by our side every step of the way. She helped the day go off with out a hitch, and reassured me I was doing great during the whole planning process. We saw Crystal Lake for the first time early last September. The minute we caught view of the beautiful vistas and immaculate grounds, we knew we didn't have to see any other venues. That winter, Tracy hosted an evening for all the upcoming brides and grooms. The evening showcased different cocktail appetizers, tons of different options off their extensive menu, different place setting and decorative options, and other vendors they recommended. It was exciting to see what the room might look like on our big day. Tracy then met with us 3 more times over the next few months, each time helping to guide us in what we needed to accomplish before the next meeting. The week of the wedding we had one final meeting in which we dropped off all of our decorations to be set up by her wonderful staff the day of the wedding. She hosted a rehearsal with all of our family and bridal party so that things would run smoothly the following day. The day of our wedding, so coordinated all of the deliveries from the florist, cake, etc. She even made sure that the flowers for the grandparents and guys were given out. When I arrived that the venue, she made sure that the guys and any other guests that might have gotten there early were tucked away so they didn't see us going up to the bridal suite. While in the bridal suite, she made sure that we had anything we needed and that everything was running on time. She even let us take a peek at the main room all set up before we headed to the ceremony. The room looked spectacular, even better than I had imagined it over and over in my mind. We chose to have our wedding at their beautiful outdoor gazebo overlooking the lake. The weather was perfect and the pictures came out beautiful, thanks to the natural beauty of the venue. The rest of the night ran like clock work, and I didn't have to worry about one thing except to have the night of my life. Our guests raved about the venue and the sunset over the lake was the perfect setting for a wonderful night. I cannot thank Tracy and her staff enough for making my wedding go off without a hitch. I will hold onto those memories for the years to come and plan to visit again next year for our 1 year anniversary! read more

I recently held my Vow Renewal/ Anniversary party at Crystal Lake and was MORE than happy with our event!! I am originally from RI but I live in Los Angeles currently, so I was planning this event from the other side of the country. Tracy (the event coordinator) was an AMAZING help! I must have emailed her a hundred times about different things and she was always so helpful! The night of the party was perfect, the room looked gorgeous and everything was exactly as I pictured it. Our guests loved it! The food was great too, and not to mention the prices for the event were very reasonable. Throughout the night I found myself needing help with little things (since I didn't have a party planner on hand) and Tracy was right there to assist with whatever I needed... she really went above and beyond! As the 1st group off, No worries, we might catch up to them on 15 or 16th hole. We get to 5th tee and Here is the tournament from 5th hole and beyond. So we played the first 4 holes in 45 min. Had our wedding ceremony and reception there last month - beyond perfect! The grounds are very well maintained and their staff is wonderful, especially their wedding coordinator Tracy. She was extremely helpful before, during, and after the wedding. She exceeded our expectations in a wedding coordinator for sure! Their food menu had a big variety and they were willing to accommodate any food allergy for our wedding guests. Reasonably priced and a lot of options available for what you want on your special day. A friend of mine had her wedding here. The outdoor area was COVERED in ants which the club did nothing to take care of, not even dust them off the benches. When I say covered, I mean more thoroughly than a sprinkled donut is covered in sprinkles. Gross! After having ants crawl all over us at the ceremony, we went inside for the reception. The place was a disorganized mess; the line to get in was all over the place with no staff helping maintain it. It was the same situation inside, as the food table was in the middle with no queue markers or staff in sight. I'm pretty sure the cheese was from stop and shop, which is too bad considering how much they charge couples for the plates. Regardless, there was not enough for everyone and it ran out very quickly. When we had gotten inside, we waited at the bar for ten minutes as the world's slowest bartender mixed drinks. Once we had gotten to the front, he got half way through taking our order before some random old lady (who nobody knew, she may not have been a wedding guest) marched her way through the line and proclaimed "I'VE BEEN WAITING HERE THE LONGEST!". She clearly hadn't and had just approached the line, but the bartender stopped taking our order in mid speech and took hers instead. I've been to some crappy bars but have never seen a bartender do that. Once we'd sat down, the waiters started going around with appetizers. However, they would only offer them to one random person at a table, ignoring the other nine reaching for them. By the time the food started coming out, they started selectively forgetting to give random guests their food, leaving maybe one in twenty people without an entre. I realize that the staff is mostly from Burriville and Chepachet and you can't expect much from people who voted to slash their snow plowing budget in the snowiest part of the state, but this was appallingly unprofessional! I looked briefly at booking a wedding here once and boy am I glad I went with someone else. read more

Review for the club as a wedding/event location: I recently attended a wedding held here and I really enjoyed the clubhouse and the surrounding area. The ceremony was held at the gazebo which is in the woods and looks out onto Sucker Pond. It's a quiet, pristine place, very nice for a small/medium ceremony in a natural setting. The reception was in the large event room of the clubhouse. It was beautifully decorated and again, a perfect size for a small to medium party. The room has a small patio outside, nice for a break from music and dancing, which overlooks Sucker Pond and the view is peaceful and gorgeous. I also have to give a huge thumbs up to the waitstaff. They were all extremely attentive, professional and friendly, while very busy. The cons: the food was tasty but mediocre, the one drink I had was weak, the parking lot for the gazebo is in the middle of a torn-up field with rusty broken gates (perhaps under construction?) and overall, this place is in the middle of nowhere. Now, the last one may not be a con - being out in a rural area allows for a natural setting and peace and quiet. However, the nearest hotel is a Holiday Inn Express (where I stayed) which is 10 miles and 20 minutes away, which can be a pain for family flying in without a car, or if nobody wants to DD. read more

I went to crystal lake golf club for the first time last week, and then again this past Friday. Driving up to the course I saw a beautiful venue and it gave me high hopes for the golf course. The course did not disappoint, however it did not amaze me. The fairways had a few rough patches which i found odd for being this deep into the season, however it was mostly green. The green were in great shape and very fast. Each holes green was a different challenge. The one major complaint that i had was the structure of the golf course. It felt like there were 18 holes packed into the space of nine holes. I felt like i had to be on high alert to while playing in order to stay alive. read more

our family went here for thanksgiving 2014. After losing our mom just two months ago, we are still grieving, and needed to get away for the holidays. This looked like a nice place, it was a buffet $25/person, no drinks included. We arrived with the reservation of 4 people. (3 adults and 1 child 2 years of age). We were brought to our table and there was a 2 person set up. I reminded them we had a reservation for 4 people, they seemed confused and disorganized. Seemed like the buffet was 1/2 a mile from our actual table, and the line was so long. The food was fair at best, their "garden salad" was simply bagged salad thrown in a bowl with a few bowls of dressing on the side to choose from. When your paying $25 per person, you would at least expect a fresh garden salad. The side dishes like potatoes, gr bean casserole, butternut squash were all okay, it wasn't very hot, just luke warm and by the time we got back to our table it was basically cold. They meat was all tasty.. ham, turkey, prime rib.. The dessert table was sparse.. pumpkin pie, bite size cheesecake samples, and a mixed variety of cookies. Needless to say, I won't be going back here, it was highly disappointing on top of an already highly depressing holiday.... read more
