We've been coming here for a couple of years now and both kids love it here. All the staff are super nice and front staff are VERY competent. This past year this place has really dropped the ball when it comes to customer service. I been bringing my children here for over 6years and this past year was horrible. One appointment we went to, the dentist was pregnant and was noticeably irritable and our appointment was rushed. My daughter begged me not to bring her back due to the way the service was being doing for a simple cleaning. My son had a follow up appointment and needed fillings, we arrived to the app just to be told we were scheduled on the wrong day and no surgeon was in. I work a full time job and it is hard for me to request days off last minute. Fast forward today my son has an appointment for filling and extractions 1/5/26 I received call this morning 1/2/26 stating the surgeon won't be in and if I could bring him in today. I already previously took off for 1/5/26 which is the appointment date THEY provided me just to be hit with the same issue. My son is on holiday break and ate after midnight which means he can't have the procedure done due to food restrictions after midnight. The last minute requests and scheduling is horrible with this organization along with the accomdtaions for patients. Now I'm forced to find another place that actually cares about our time and our dental care. Truly disappointed, especially since my son really needs his fillings right away. read more

This office LACKS patience, empathy and professionalism. First off if your child tends to cry and act up because they're AFRAID. PLEASE do not take them there, they'll call your child "insubordinate". My baby was so afraid after they tried strapping her down without me being in the room because they don't allow you to be in there. The dental assistant also had the worst attitude. Oh and don't even think about questioning anything because they'll be livid. I questioned medication given to my daughter and the DOCTOR, giggles and said "are you in the medical field? I've never had a parent question us before" I felt super uncomfortable with that push back. I don't recommend this place AT ALL. If you love your baby, DO NOT BRING THEM TO THIS OFFICE. read more

I really loved this dental office, I did. Everyone is so nice and caring. But I want the doctor to actually look at x rays and not just take a glimpse for noticeable cavities. My daughter had a dental check up yesterday and I told the doctor that she chipped her tooth. She stated "she has an exposed root but as long as there is no infection it should be okay". I felt iffy about that so I came to another pediatric office and the dr told me right away JUST BY LOOKING AT X RAYS that she has a supernumerary tooth (extra tooth) growing and changing the position of the future permanent tooth and that's what caused the "root to be exposed". I mean there is no treatment to do now, but it was have BEEN NICE TO KNOW. You can CLEARLY see it in the x ray. I even called the office and told them nicely what happened (because it isn't the front desk's fault) and hoped for a call back and explanation from the Dr but no. THE MOST TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE A PARENT CAN HAVE, this office is lucky their not getting sued by now, I went in do to my 5year old having a 3 day pain on he's upper moler teeth I had called a different office on tangle wood area but they couldn't help me "as an emergency procedure" so they recommended this place, I called and they took me in, to make things short, as I go in a get greater by two nurses and I explain the situation "my son is in pain for the past 3days and this morning he woke up with a bump on top(gumarea) of the teeth that it's hurting" she ask my son to let her see he's teeth. He opened he's mouth and we show her the upper teeth second from the top. Right after that, the "doctor"comes in THINKING SHES THE EXPERT which she is definitely not! She starts asking for x-ray from my previous provider to be able to make a decision, she asked my son to open he's mouth and she asked me witch one it's hurting I said the second from the top , she looks at it and she even says theirs an infection on that tooth. Assuming everything is going according to plan, she says I need to have an X-ray just on that teeth, I said that's fine follow by that she starts explaining that he it's going to need crowns from the last two moler etc. I asked her if theirs anything else other than metal crowns ? She said no, "are you going to be able to put a retainer for the space?" FIRST RED FLAG - she said NO because theirs not other teeth to hold it . my face of confusion to her answered , in my head I said wait he might need 2 teeth to hold the space. This thought was just in my head. We continue with the process. The doctor then asked one of the nurses to take a picture of the bottom moler, I didn't think anything of it because I know he needed to get that one out or fixed. My son has never had pain from that Tooth . They start the process I step out of the office I didn't want to see my son in pain , when I come back I hear my son crying and screaming. First person I talk to it's the nurse , I asked if he was ok ? She said we are done its out but you do need to bring him back to get the INFECTED TOOTH out , I asked "what do you mean ? " theirs an upper teeth on top of the one you removed ? Like inside he's gums ? Where the bump is? I was so confused. Because that's the one I was here for. Then the doctor came out and said its out , but bring him back to get the one thats infected , I went crazy when she said that o said what do you mean thats the one that was hurting? I go in to the room to see my son he was crying and as confused as I was because he knew that wasn't it as well. He will cry saying I want my tooth back. I went crazy ! I literally went crazy i told them "you guys took the wrong tooth out OMG !!! Then the Doctor had the guts to tell me I told her the bottom Tooth . That I told her ! I told two people that it was the second from the top , thats the reason asked if she was going to put a retainer !!! Why would I asked to put a retainer on the bottom tooth if I know it needs another one to hold it. She was talking to me like I was stupid and trying to fix her mistake ! As a professional she needs to examine and check ten times before extracting a teeth. Blaming me !!! She really had some guts to start making excuses for her mistake . Right after that I asked to speak to someone over her and no one came !!!! I spoke to the person in the from ... she said same thing that I had told her it was the bottom Tooth . She just said we are going to give him antibiotics for he's infected teeth. He's going to feel better ! They never told me how to treat my son after the extraction, to be honest it seemed like they wanted me to leave the office , they never said what can/ cannot my son eat I had to google that myself when I got home. And now it's Saturday and my sons has two pain areas have to give him Tylenol every 6 hours at least . And till now i haven't even received a call from the owner ! I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against this business. My daughter saw the dentist at Bunker Hill Pediatric Dentistry in May 2022. I was not asked for my insurance card when we checked in and was only asked on a written form if my insurance had changed, which it had not. After Mira's routine visit concluded and I was checking out, the front desk staff told me I owed them $384 for the visit. I asked why it would be that much when I have insurance. They said they did not have my insurance info on file already. I presented my insurance card to them immediately. They said it would take time to authorize and that I needed to pay up front and they would reimburse me once they got the money from insurance. I paid immediately with my credit card. They told me they would contact me with the reimbursement. I did not hear from them so I called them one month later and they told me it may take up to two months. I called 3.5 months after the visit when I still had heard nothing and was told that the they would need to contact their business office, that they had no additional information, and could not provide me with any other resources to resolve my complaint. I asked to hold on the line while they spoke to the business office but they said this was not possible. The person told me I would receive a call from the office when the business office had looked into it. It has been 2 weeks since my last call and almost 4 months since my daughter's visit and I have not heard back. My daughter and I have full dental coverage with United Healthcare yet I paid $384 for this routine visit and seem to have no recourse in getting refunded. I don't know whether the business is inept or purposefully deceitful, but I would like to get refunded and would like other potential customers to know to avoid this business. read more

My son went here for several years and we loved it. Never had any problems with the staff or appointments. Dr. Luu was my son's doctor, one appointment he had to have an extraction and my son was so scared but it was over before he thought it started! They did everything with such ease and explained everything to us. Offered us different financial options for procedures. What a front desk staff?!!!!! I am working in the dentistry field and I almost know all the tricks and lies in this field. When I called them, I asked them to change my child appointment to be as soon as possible cause he is in pain they gave me an appointment today morning and when I reached there, I found that my child isn't in their schedule. They told me "we still can see him but the medicine needs an hour to kick in". This is a huge mistake cause the meaning of this statment is "we will treat you as a walk in and you have to wait along time ". I use to love taking my daughter here but the customer service over the phone is absolutely HORRIBLE! I called today and was asked to hold which I said okay and was on hold for 10 minutes. I hung up and called back and when she asked me to hold again, I told her I was just on hold for 10 minutes and nobody came back she said because we are busy and just placed me on hold. I am currently on my 2nd call on hold for 7 minutes and counting so the total time now is 17 minutes all for me to tell them I want to cancel now and I will never be returning and will tell all the Mom in my Mom groups the same horrible experience I am receiving. I love Dr. Luu! My son has been seeing her for two years and Dr. Luu has been consistently professional and courteous. Sometimes, after a cleaning my son and I are waiting for Dr. Lulu to have her examination but it is only for a few minutes and you can see her patiently working or talking to another patient. She is not rushing with her patients and really wants to be thorough and answer all your questions. I would definitely recommend her and I plan to see her for a very long time! read more

Dr. Luu and her staff have always been so wonderful to my family. When my son needed some intense work for his age after a fall, they comforted us every step of the way and really listened to our concerns and desires. Dr. Luu is skilled and extremely patient. The office is adorable and the whole environment makes it fun for kids to go to the dentist. What the above reviewer does not realize is that it is common practice for a pediatric dentist to not let the parent be in the room. Would you expect to be allowed in the room while your child had her tonsils out? Dental work is surgical and aseptic technique is important, as well as the fact children react totally differently (usually better) when parents are not around, and the list goes on. read more

Hello I just want to say that I've been taking my daughter here since she got her 1st tooth. We've had pleasant experiences with the male dentist and the dental assistants. Today is a different story, and after reading all of the reviews I've connected the dots since I've never had a run in with Dr. Luu I now see she was a little ruff with my 2 year old who was excited to get her cleaning done because we've always had pleasant experiences right. Other then that she encouraged to get an X-ray, the 1st time ever my daughter was to get an x ray, the dental assistant Jamira was instructed to perform it, jamira had bad bed side manners with my daughter and I. let me say again she is 2 years old. You would think that someone working in a pediatric dental office would have experience on how to handle toddlers and their 1st time receiving X-rays. She was rushing my daughter again 2 year old, and so then we decided not to go ahead with the X-rays and Jamila walked away as fast as she could while I stayed behind trying to explain to my daughter what X-rays are and not to be afraid of them and Jamira comes back telling us we can get off the chair, more like telling us. So I asked her if she was okay and if she was in a rush and what is going on because her body language toward us was negative and her sour pus facial expression toward us was very alarming yes I could read her facial expression despite her having a face mask on. I quickly went to the front and asked them for the office manager and to write a formal complaint against Jamira. Apparently there is no way to write a formal complaint. In the midst of me talking to the front office associates Dr. Luu comes up and I let her know what I as going on and she assured me that she would talk to Jamira. Honestly I hope she does because I've never had an experience there where the dental assistant looked at me and my 2 year old daughter so nasty and treated us very unprofessional. I am writing this review in hopes that the proper actions were taken to address Jamira and the way she treats patients especially toddlers who are easily impressionable. read more

All this dentist practice cares about is $$$. They did the standard cleaning and x-ray for my two kids then came back with a list of "required" dental service. The service included multiple cavities fixes for both kids. We immediately left. My kids' previous dentist in CA (whom they have been going to since 2 years old) and their next dentist in Houston did NOT find any cavities doing their exam and x-ray. Apparently their cavities only shows up on this dentist's x-ray machine. read more

Loved it!!! Patience, Kind, at Ease, Kid Friendly, Cleanliness Okay, y'all mind you this is a visit to a new dentist and the staff is on point with everything @Bunker Hill Pediatric Dentistry . Walk in, I was a bit shy because I am new, but no worries I get greeted took him a bit but I am not that up tight trust me I've been there. Anyways, lets get to it, they had a little area for children to play to the left of you, and I get called back the young lady was so friendly she was talking to my son making him feel a bit more than just another patient (loved that). I went to the room where my son was to sit, and I express my concerns so we move to the middle of the room, and my son mind you see's this transformer which he walks around with it as if its his new very own toy. So this whole time my son has this transformer and goes bonkers when they go to try and take it from him to review his teeth so finally I manage to help because, this is literally impossible with my son. I couldn't take x-rays he was just losing it without this darn toy (toddlers oh boy!) Finally the Dr. Suellevan she introduces herself, and starts to ask for my concerns and she is so thorough with everything took her time didn't mind my hollering child she was just the most patient Dentist I have ever encountered and I was so pleased at that. She informed about so much took her time and was so helpful! My son might of not liked it too much because he wanted to play, but she made sure that is was no problem. She even offered for us to stay for a bit after so my son could play for a bit omg!! The fact that they made me feel so at ease, kind, and patient throughout it all really made me love this place!!! My son was given a coin to get a toy, but I defiantly would recommend this place to anyone who has a toddler or any child for that matter they walk you through it all and don't just try to brush you off. More issues with the office staff! I called last week to confirm my children's appointments and to inform the staff that the insurance had changed. Whomever I spoke to told me that the insurance was still accepted and I received two text this week to confirm my appointment. This morning I received a call from Rosie stating that my insurance will not cover tomorrow's checkup and that she wasn't sure why someone at their office told me that it would. We began a great relationship. They are nice, friendly, mostly professional, great with kids. We came here a few years ago due to another dentist not treating one of our children. This was recommended and one of my children ended up having a tooth extraction. We decided to have a prosthetic tooth be put in place because it was too early to lose this tooth. However, the prosthetic tooth, that we paid for out of pocket, was faulty. Not once did they accommodate and redo this for no cost, but every time we went in to have this checked and something redone to it, we were charged. After one of the main metal pieces broke off, we gave up and took it back and told their dentist she could return it to whoever made it. We continued coming because they are really good with children, we did not have any further issues (other than still paying on a tooth we no longer have). Kids were doing well. Typical fillings, decent check ups. But then it went downhill from there. The last couple of checkups on teeth THEY FILLED, are now cracked or broken off. Of course, our children now need CROWNS. On all the teeth that are broken or cracked fillings. I asked for their dentist to set aside about 10-15 minutes to have a phone conversation with my husband and explain why our children now need crowns where there were once fillings that they filled; she said she would be happy to. I called 3-4 times to ask for this and not once did she call or get on the phone. I have 3 kiddos and Bunker Hill tells me all 3 need crowns. No thank you. I will research other pediatric dentists who know how to completely remove decay, who are not lazy (crown vs. fillings) and who will stand behind their work. I am sad to say that we will not fork out any more out of pocket money for those who cannot be true to their patients. read more

I wouldn't go back. Nothing about this place or experience was okay. We get there for our appointment and shy of a hour by a few minutes, we were finally seen. It was one other mother with two children there. The visit was fine but he's been to other dentists and they actually clean the Teeth a lot better than here. Granted he was four so they didn't have much to do but they didn't do anything more than what I do. I actually brush his teeth better than that. At checkout they were trying to charge me more than the copay.... which of course I didn't pay. If I have to argue with people who went to school for medical billing and coding, I get annoyed. So either you don't know what you're doing or you're trying to get over. I know what my insurance covers and how much I should pay.... try again. And then the MANY calls and texts after you tell them YOU will call them when you're ready. I've asked them repeatedly to stop calling me and they still call and text. They are pathetic. read more

Do not! I repeat DO NOT take her child here. I was told that my 3 year old needed 6 crowns and was recommended that she be sedated. I was also told I would not be able to be with my daughter during this procedure. This made me feel very uncomfortable so I decided to cme home and read the reviews and I am so glad that I did. I went and got a second opinion from an experienced dentist and was told she only needed 1, yes, 1 crown. When I showed the dentist, who has been practicing dentistry for over 20 years, the sheet that Dr. Luu's gave me stating all the prodecures that were going to be dne on my daughter he was floored!!! He could not believe what he was reading. My daughter received 1 crown and two very small fillings and did not have to be sedated at all. If you take your child here for anything other than a routine cleaning you are insane!!! read more

While it appears the dentistry is fine, the billing is not. They have (to the best if my memory) messed up the billing/charges at least four or five occasions. As others have mentioned, she routinely does fluoride treatments that are not covered by insurance. I paid the first time and told them to let me know in advance if anything is not covered by my insurance. Despite said request being made on more then one occasion, they kept doing it and attempted to charge me each time. More recently, my insurance would not cover filling a cavity (as she performs a more expensive cavity fill procedure that is not covered). They did tell me in advance I had to pay. However, when I got the eob from the insurance, it said I overpaid by $20. Of course, the Denist never refunded anything. On the last (and final) visit, they explained that my insurance went out if network mid year (I do even know if this is possible), and attempted to charge me $328 for the last routine check up. They told this to me while we were in the office waiting to do our next routine check ups. I asked them how much they would charge for the check ups (2) we were there for and they said they don't know; they will know after the insurance is billed (and they made this statement after they called the insurance to see if it would be covered). Anyhow I wish someone warned me. I don't need this hassle. read more

Do not use this office. We had an appoint for first think on Monday morning. Dr office called on Friday and pushed it back because the Dr decided to go out of town and wouldn't be back in time. Then the called us 1.5 hours before the appointment was supposed to happen and said yep she isn't going to be in today. If we canceled any appointment day of there would be fees that we had to pay but no offer compensation. My wife and I had to take off of work and use vacation days but all we got is I am sorry. I chose this dentist due to other dentists suggesting over $1700 out of pocket dental work for my then 1.5 year old. The high cost was mainly due to anesthesia. So we made it through the 1st year of visits and all of my son's work was done without anesthesia, only a sedative, however at some point it wore off and my son was screaming at the top of lungs. I knew the work needed to be done, but the screaming was a little too much for any parent to bare. Parents are asked to wait in the waiting room during procedures...I've heard this before, but you cannot REQUIRE a mother to stand aside while her child is screaming. At least not this mother. Well, I took my, now 4 years old, child for follow-up and check ups every 6 months and always confirmed our insurance status, since there was some confusion after the first procedure. I always received a bill either via mail or at the next visit; reminder we only returned for check-ups (brush his teeth, floss, and check for cavities). My insurance covers this 100% and the other basic procedures 80-100%. My last visit, again, I owe over $60. As usual, I paid, and questioned the young lady, who was not the usual office staff that assisted us. Finally, after over 2 years, I am told my GREAT insurance/ the dentist is out of network. I was specifically told year after year the opposite. I appreciated Dr. Luu getting the job done for my child's "milk teeth", but there has always been a disconnection with billing and my first experience hearing my son scream and someone telling me I could not be with him. It'a convenient and easy going if your child never has cavities or dental issues and your insurance is "in network", but learn from my mistake and confirm with your insurance on your own. I'm shame to say, I recommended a friend and she and her children were, also, scarred by their experience. read more

I would recommend their services to anyone seeking out a great dentist for your cherished child(ren). *the staff are all super friendly and remember you months later, which makes you feel like a human, not a number that pays the bills. *the hygienists take their time with the kids and know all the ways of easing their dental deepest darkest fears. *Dr. Luu is knowledgeable, gentle and kind. *there are kid prizes galore through each step of the way. The end of the appointment is finished off with your child getting a coin that they use in a prize machine to get a final toy to validate their bravery. *the staff remind you of your appointments with text and email. You even get a text reminder 30 minutes before the appointment. *their appointment schedule is flexible. *they're a human business that is understanding! I was in traffic (go figure in Houston, huh?) and was going to be late for my daughter's appointment. I called them and they happily bumped me to the next appt. 30 min later. *we got called in right away. *the office decor is chic, modern, kid-friendly and comfortable. *there are two play areas-one in the waiting area and one in the X-ray area. *they give personal touches that make the business special. My last appointment was right before Mother's Day. The staff gave each child a bouquet of flowers to give their mother when it was time to go. I was blown away with the kind gesture, plus my daughter felt good to bring her mother such an unexpected gesture of appreciation. *most importantly, my daughter WANTS to go back to the dentist. I have been looking for a good dentist for my daughter & finally found one (now that she's 6) since all of the other ones have traumatized her & made her hate going to the dentist.. not this one! The staff are all super friendly & they make conversation with your child & help then understand the importance of brushing your teeth. I love how they also teach them the correct way to brush & floss & help them feel calm. At the end they get a coin to trade in for a toy, super cute. I love this dentist office! read more

WARNING! I took the kids to Bunker Hill Pediatric Dentistry today. I noticed one of the forms that I needed to sign was a General Informed Consent release. The form stated that a fluoride treatment would be administered. I am not ok with that. (I've done the research, I don't want it) I wrote on the form "NO FLUORIDE" and told the woman at the front desk "Please let the dentist know we will not be doing the fluoride treatment", which she did. First off, they started on my three kids BEFORE I had even handed in the forms. That is a big deal, the forms list allergies that the kids have, some to medications, and that one of my kids has had a traumatic experience at a dental office in the past. Next, the Dentist says to me "They told me that you do not want fluoride can you tell me why?" I told her that I have researched the affects of fluoride, especially on young and developing kids and that I do not want it administered on my children. She then begins to argue with me in front of my children, the staff and other patients. I repeated myself and simply said "No fluoride." She said to me "Well I'm just trying to educate you" To which I replied, "I am educated, which is the reason I do not want fluoride". Then I am told to go to the front desk where I am asked to sign a paper stating that I agree to pay the remaining $200 (after insurance) of a future procedure for one on my children to fix a cavity on a baby tooth, the procedure would involve putting her under which is completely unnecessary and I refused to sign it. Then, The dentist (that I had just had the fluoride conversation with) calls me back to where she is looking at my daughters teeth. My daughter that has had the traumatic experience in the past. We briefly discuss her teeth, and then she quickly wipes something across my daughters teeth. I ask "What is that?" No answer. I ask again "What is that? What is in her mouth??" No answer. My daughter says "Can I rinse??" I repeat "What is in her mouth??" The dentist says to my daughter "Go rinse" She then walks over to me and says "I'm sorry I forgot, you said no fluoride, I am completely responsible for this". Now, I'm sure you can imagine what my response to this was. My child was just given something I not only did not consent to but had a conversation with the dentist about my reasoning and refusal less than 5 minutes before she administered it to my daughter.
