At 13 weeks pregnant, we got devastating news that our baby girl had a diagnosis that was not compatible with life. As a result, we had to make the agonizing decision to terminate the pregnancy. We were heartbroken and knew that we wanted to find a funeral home that would give us the remains of our baby. Bunkers was recommended and they made a horrible situation a little easier for us. Everyone we worked with treated us with such empathy and understanding. They made us feel valued and understood that even though we didn't get to meet our baby girl, she was very much a part of our family. They cremated her remains for us so she can be with us at home. Everything going great; life is filled with laughter and joy then one day it is stolen away! On February 22, 2018; I had such a day as this! Life changed for me this day! Never would I feel his loving hands around mine. I would not feel his warm breath ever again. Stolen away way way to young. Replaced with ghostly ice chilling cold! The mind numbing pain takes your breath away! As I step foot and start to even approach this property I can feel my body respond to fight or flight! While I do want to fly; the fight is the winner. I am not willing to join my beloved for a long long time! I pull that foot from the ground: lace up my sneakers and approach the door. Yes standing before this door again: I must open it! All that I have done to put Chris behind me comes rushing back. It will not take me! He is the strength that I cling too! The fact that I have unfinished business here. I want to live and one cannot do that with a foot in the grave! This is the hardest review that I have had to right and as I pen it now the tears flow! I am safe and need this therapy persay! Lol; as I always say laughter is good for the sole! I have come to terms with my loss and the reshaping and reshuffling of my life . Life has dealt me a blow bit not fatal! I have picked up the pieces! The funeral home staff here have been immensely patient and professional in ensuring that I got Chris ashes and death certificates. While I was unprepared for this death; the staff here at the funeral home were wonderful guides. The trip today was to pick up another copy of my late husbands death certificate. They know who I am and we're able to give me the certificate with no issues what so ever. As procedure though they had to ask for me identification and I was just fine with that. We must always be safe! They also provide you if needed a safe place for talking! This I needed today! So with his death behind me and my life ahead I forge alone in this journey! In life doors open and close all the time! A fellow Yelper told me that! My husbands door closed while new doors continue to come my way! It is the my choice what door that I will choose. I might make mistakes along the way and in those mistakes learn new things and forge new bridges. Some say that fate will eventually catch up with all of us. For those whom believe in numerology; Chris passed away on 2-22! Figure that one out? I am still on the fence and believe in numerous philosophies and fantastic fantasies. Is a dragon going to save? So recently I was here twice for services, the first day we where there for the viewing of the departed. The viewing ended at 7pm and at 6:45 two women went and stood in the front as people where going up to speak and just stood there to make sure that they could be out of there 7pm. It was 6:57 and they had already ended it and one of them came up to me as everyone is saying final good byes and said that this ended @ 7pm and that we needed to exit the building. I feel people here lack a lot of tact and were careless, if they simply where a little bit more caring and gave it just a few more minutes they could've done the same thing and it would've been a good experience. Instead they stood there and made things uncomfortable for many people. The following day was the same way, we weren't even done speaking when the lady opened up the door so that it could take the body out and then once 11:55 rolled around she went and stood in the front again & proceeded to see whom would help her take the body into the Hearst hurried everything along and we where supposed to have til noon to finish. Then quickly took off without telling anyone where they were going or letting us follow her. The people here just have no empathy nor care about their jobs and I would go elsewhere if I were you. read more

I want to say I came from another state for my dear aunts services and I was saddened by the service during the viewing. Two ladies were there making sure we were out ON TIME!! A bit rude and non caring. Standing near the casket like security not giving us privacy in the last couple minutes we had with our loved one. Then the day of my aunts burial services same thing, just rushing us out and the same two ladies a white tall lady and an a black short lady none of the two caring or even a smile from either rushed my aunts casket into the Hearse and took off like they were going to be late. We got a little lost because we were unable to follow them as they took off and waited for no one. Sad experience as it is they just had no sympathy , empathy or compassion. My family and I had the upmost terrible experience here. Yes the service here was fine in which at the funeral home. However we put a lot of trust in them to send my uncles body back home to Mexico in which they failed to do in the time we expected them too. I get that stuff happens and the driver missed his flight. A sorry is not enough. Funeral arrangements should not be handled lightly. It seems like they only have one airline to travel deceased bodies when they should have more than one. The funeral home that was to pick him up in Mexico traveled two hours to go get the body and it was not there. Which is now another cost that we have to cover AGAIN. We have to push his funeral service that was planned over there now. Round trip tickets have been bought already from family members and now some either can't make it or it's costing them more to stay longer. Not to mention miss work. We had to get tables, chairs, food all rescheduled. Just flat out unacceptable. read more

I have not had the misfortune of needing their services yet, but I have to say that Betty Wiley is the best Office Coordinator for Woodlawn and Eden Vale that I have ever met. She goes way above and beyond to help, even though she says she is just doing her job. I cannot thank her enough for all of her help and kindness. My mother died the late night early morning of 2/5. The hospital transferred her remains without consent to this hell hole. When I called the hospital to find out where she was they gave me the phone number to bunker. I called and was hung up on..... 9 times in a row. Every time I called I asked for the funeral director as I didn't know what was going on with my mother's remains. And instead of answers I was called names and hung up on. My husband tried to call and the same thing. I found out from my father that he eventually spoke to someone but due to my father's memory problems he couldn't remember everything. So I called again the next day. Was hung up on again... twice. Till finally Russ called me back. And let me tell you about russ. Russ had the worst attitude of all. He screamed at me and I mean screamed. Telling me to shut up that he is speaking ( ok judge judy) he tells me he already spoke to my father, yet when I tried to explain that my dad has memory problems that is why I was calling because I need confirmation he still yelled at me again. Again telling me he spoke to next of kin and he won't tolerate my "attitude". Funny I wouldn't have had an attitude if he hadn't talked to me the way he did. Or if his staff didnt hang up on me and my husband. I think my attitude was justified. His not so much. My mother died and instead of compassion I get insults. Instead of help I get chastised. I can't wait to get my mom's remains transferred out of there they are a true hell hole. I know loan sharks and prison wardens who have more empathy. read more

I called because of a couple of concerns about the situation of cups attached to the head stone and got the runaround. They gave me an email address of the person to contact. I wrote and emailed Mr Danny Fulkerson. They said I need to contact him this way. Before this I had spoke to a lady who was very rude. Only nice when they need your money, but take no credit for broken markers, stones, vases, they put new rules out, but has Never notified families that didn't sign the new updated rules. some have been there for over 20 years and have no idea of changes. I'll start out by saying they mean we'll and intentions are good . The plot arrangements and grave related stuff was handled well and their communication was great but as soon as we were transferred over to their funeral planning team is where it went bad . During our funeral one of their lamps exploded. I'm not sure what , how or why but that wasn't the only problem, our photos that we selected were edited and they added some form of music to the background as they were shuffling, (Note: they don't accept videos to include with your sledge show ) . On top of that the recording of the funeral started a whole hour before anyone showed up then the video didn't even record ANY of the speeches that were made at the end . I was really sad that this happens. In addition to all of that the head stone won't be placed till it's paid off . Which we were not informed until the moment of finalizing everything. Some staff is insensitive and Im not sure if it's because they get commission or what but to them you're basically a walking dollar bill . read more

Typically, I don't post reviews on social media yet felt compelled to share my thoughts regarding my recent experience with Bunkers Mortuary in Las Vegas. Covid-19 has wreaked havoc on everyday routines and especially during difficult times of suffering and loss. Except for residents in the immediate vicinity, most of my family is primarily out of state and could not attend services for my beloved aunt due to the pandemic. Staff members at Bunkers were compassionate, understanding, and professional without question. It is important to also mentioned one person in particular: Russ, who is a consummate professional. Not only did he go beyond the call of duty in all aspects throughout, from beginning to end, he did so without meeting me in person. All arrangements were done remotely; Russ was very personable and compassionate, especially during such a highly emotional and unprecedented circumstance. He doesn't know this until now (if he actually reads this), I am part of an influential family that has been in the funeral business in the Midwest for over 88 years and have attended my share of services all over the country so tend to be very critical. If anything is lacking, I would be able to spot it. If you're seeking par excellence in care, he will not disappoint. I went over to visit my moms graveside, plack had gotten long lost , instead came to find that they put someone else's head stone on my moms grave!!! Went and had problems with them coorrecting it I a timely manner what I did was revisit and it was in the same situation, had to go back and get someone to go to my moms grave and have them fix it, I went in and paid 2000, 00 dollars to get a head stone. Every time I was a little late they were on me. I paid for the whole thing in March, I called a whole bunch of times to get help they kept telling me they would get a hold of Adam, this lady Elaine . Now Elaine has been let go of , and also suspiicially all the history of Dennis and I calling and talking to her, she kept taking messages for four months . They told me it would take a few months to do my moms thing, four months later nothing, so I called and Adam was there, I told him I was mad, and that Dennis and I wer having personal stuff going down I asked for my money back, because I car broke down, he told me he'd only give my half of it the rest was theirs, they did not even have a stone or nothing, I asked him to just hive the half and hold on to the rest so Dennis and I could get a car I'm really sick and need to get to doctor appointments, I told him to hold the rest and I come back and give the rest of the money back, and he refused to help me!!! He also said it was going to cost even more for my moms head stone because prices going up! I'm also upset because I'm paying for life insurance for my funeral expenses and he told me when I passed they woul not give my kids my life insurance money to pay for my funeral that my kids have to come up with money first for my funeral and than they would give them the insurance money!!! They are greedy uncaring snakes, and all they do is try to scare you and tell you to pay up now because it's going to cost more in the future!!! read more

Absolutely the worst. Upon arrival for a 12:00 appointment, the first thing I noticed was a boarded up window in the front. I arrived on time and waited, and waited, finally at 12:30 someone at the front desk said that they would call the representative that made the appointment. I forget her name, but she called and said she was running and would arrive in 5 mins. She then called again with another excuse. I left there after waiting an hour. Not one person ever called to apologize. The place is very old, and looks as if it hasn't been updated in many years. People were arriving for a service as I sat there. It was a very uncomfortable position to be in. I do not recommend this place at all. Please look into other facilities that are much more professional and clean. read more

My brother was buried here January 2021. There is absolutely NO SERVICE after the sale. The grounds are unkept and they do nothing to remedy this. It is over ran with weeds, headstones are placed crooked and in the wrong place, the grounds are unlevel, bare, full of rocks and left over concrete from liners that were poured so the ground doesn't cave in? It does no good to complain...they have an excuse for EVERYTHING! IT'S BECAUSE IF COVID...ITS BECAUSE IF LAS VEGAS WEATHER,, ITS A HIGH TRAFFIC AREA...like other cemeteries don't face the same problems! Apparently they haven't seen the beautiful lush lawns our golf courses have here in Vegas!!! If you are lucky enough to catch a grounds keeper, you can usually get them to do something for you...but it won't be done right! Bottom line is that they just don't care! There are people next to my brother that have been there 3 years that still don't have grass. People plant their own grass here!! My mom caught groundskeepers and had them put sod down...they did this on top of the horrible soil conditions I already mentioned. I had to take it up and put manure under the grass and I personally take 5 gallon water bottles each day and water it, in hopes it doesn't die! It is just unacceptable!! If I could afford to have my brother moved...I definitely would! I'm ashamed he is buried here! read more

This is a complaint about Lennette Smith. My brother arrived at Bunker's some time on 7/20/20, he died of Covid-19. She was very informative when I was first corresponding with her to arrange my brother's cremation. She provided me the necessary steps and forms and explained that any delays were due to the state and doctor's sign off for the cremation; this was absolutely understandable. When the cremation was finally scheduled on Thursday, 7/30, I expressed my concerns that we had arranged services on a Saturday so we would need to pick up his remains on Friday at the latest. I emailed her that if for any reason we cannot pick up by Friday, we would need to know asap as we would need to reschedule his services. On Friday morning, no one called me. I emailed her 12:52 pm Friday and she said "sorry" that her receptionist should have called already. When the receptionist, Andrea, finally called twice and left a voicemail, it was after 2 pm Friday and she said we needed to pick up by 4 pm. Andres also emailed me what time she called on Friday, 2:15 and 2:50 pm. By that time we had already canceled the services on Saturday. When I emailed her to complain that I was disappointed and that it would have courteous to have called us sooner, she literally laughed (more than once) at my frustration and she went on the defensive and refused to acknowledge any miscommunication or even apologize. She then claims that her receptionist actually called me Thursday; I honestly did not receive a call or voicemail to my number. When I asked her why she or Andres hadn't emailed me instead (we had been emailing each other since 7/20 as our primary method of communication) she says the receptionist did not have my email. That is silly excuse as my email could have easily been provided by her to the receptionist if she had in fact called me on Thursday about the pickup. I'll be first to admit that I was heated and frustrated in my tone of voice when I called her back about my disappointment. I apologize for my tone of voice, it was not directed personally to her. As anyone that had a family member die to Covid-19, you are not allowed to see them or say your goodbyes. However, Lennette seems to have either pride and or no remorse in this line of business. She kept laughing and flexing her "authority" that she already informed us of the pickup (only after my reaching out for an update on Friday after 12:52 pm) I've also emailed her twice what time the cremation was conducted on Thursday, she ignored my emails. When I called her and asked directly, she said she didn't get my "first" email about it. She then put me on hold for a bit and said that cremation times are not logged. If this is normal practice, is this the first time she has been asked this? Is it normal to not log the cremation times of each deceased person? A simple apology (even if it was not directly her fault) for this miscommunication would have resolved this issue and we could have moved on. Instead, she became defensive, condescending, and actually laughed at me when I became frustrated at how this was handled. All she had to do was put herself in our shoes and understand the situation due to the delay of picking up my brother's remains on time for his memorial services. I am honestly surprised she is in this line of work and communicates with family members this way. read more

I just got the news of my husband passing and the 1st place, I thought of was Bunkers...the compassion and love they showed my family when my son passed was so heart felt, I knew they would handle my husband the same way...When I met Russ he made us feel like things were going to be okay just breath we got this!!! he listened to our ever need and gave us some great ideas...to have a person go above and beyond for my family in our time of need was truly amazing!!! Well, it's never a good time when you're writing a review for a mortuary. My grandpa passed a couple of weeks ago, and it has truly been the hardest of times for my family and I. We're a big, old school, Mexican family. We are all we've got. We're close knit, and boy were we a mess. The king of the castle went to heaven and we were left down here, broken and in shock. But Bunkers treated us with so much love and care. The viewing was beautiful, and they were so very attentive and were willing to help with anything and everything. From picking him up from the hospital, giving us time to say goodbye, transporting of my grandpa, the embalming (he looked as handsome as ever ), the service at the cemetery... I mean, I don't think any of us could have asked for more. The entire staff, from beginning to end, were absolutely amazing. Everyone was very empathetic, nobody rushed us off to get to the next thing they had to do. My family are eternally grateful for your company and it's employees. Thank you so much. read more

Go to Palm Mortuary instead. Bunkers is much more expensive than Palm Mortuary. Not a good experience when our father passed away December 2015. We'll ask Desert Springs Hospital not to use them as a default any longer. Richard is very slow to respond and try to up-sell everything; especially if you are a female dealing with a death of a loved one; to take advantage of you. Richard also told me he would Express Mail the death certificates on Monday; but turns out they weren't mailed until WEDNESDAY and sent regular delivery -- incurring extra costs [car rental] waiting for them at my sisters house. This was a very sad time losing our newborn grandson as you can imagine. The hospital explained that he would be at this mortuary. When we went to the mortuary a gentleman opened the door and asked the deceased name, we told him and he said he was not at their mortuary, can you imagine how upsetting that was. He said we could try the mortuary down the road. We then started to explain who told us our grandson was there and from which hospital he came from, he said one moment went inside and came back to the door and said yes he was there. Mind you no apologies and we will find out that this is a place of no apologies even though they continually make mistakes and seem heartless of the heartache we are going through.. The woman (Carri)who started to handle the arrangements for my grandson seemed very nice and empathetic up until the time we paid. We realized the memorial cards that were done were incorrect as there was an additional word added that made the cards make no sense. We called to talk to her and she was busy so the gentleman took the information, again no apologies. We were then told they couldn't do the same cards we had just picked up because they were discontinued and we told him how can that be we just picked them up today and low and behold then all of a sudden they were able to do the same cards again correctly this time again with no apology. We were told to come back on a certain date at a certain time to pick up the cards and my grandsons remains. We showed up at the time we were told and met by a woman at the door (Covid Rules)that we had never talked to and we told her we had an appt at 2:30 with the woman Carri who originally helped us so she went and checked with the person that actually made the appt who told her we didn't have an appt, this is the same guy that tried to send us to another mortuary S.M.H. We told her he is the one that told us to come here today at this time. They let us in and he then said your here to pick up the cards and we said yes and our grandson's remains. He said oh no I don't believe they are ready. We then said but you said they were. He ran in to the woman's office who helped us initially(Carri) that was nice until she got the money but had not talked to us since and then he came out and said I will get his remains ready. We never got an apology and quite frankly we felt as though we were just a bother & that they possibly did not actually put any ashes in the urn or the jewelry we had gave to them to fill. We did however have glue on one of the rings which is how we hoped and prayed that they actually did do what they said they would because the woman we initially dealt with said she would secure the ashes in the pieces with glue. By the way the other woman that opened the door to us the day we went back to pick everything up & when I asked to see the cards to make sure they were right this time said I had to wait for George. I said there is real lack of empathy and communication going on here and her response to me "We have been very Busy" I will tell everyone I know to never rely on Bunkers because of their lack of empathy and professionalism. They made an extremely hard time for us much, much harder and stressful. read more

We used bunkers for m father. Nice to talk to but but did not deliver on the flowers. We ordered $250 from them and they never delivered them for a prescreening and did not deliver them for the funeral. We never received a refund. I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

My husband passed away in a car accident. I took a day or two to call around and ask different funeral homes about prices and if they could carry out my husband's final wishes. I decided on Bunkers. Me and my mother-law worked with Kris. He was very nice and easy to deal with. He made picking out all the aspects very easy and neither of us felt overwhelmed at any point. Kris even arranged some custom floor work because of a story we told him about my daughter and my husband. I had to make some changes after our meeting and Kris took care of those without any hesitation. The ladies that work the front desk are also very nice and polite. I called a week or so into the arrangements, after my husband was buried, and was told I would have to wait 7 to 10 weeks for the death certificates because the coroner was involved. I thought that was a long time, but since it was a car accident, everything was taking longer for investigations. I called the coroner's office yesterday, this is now 5 weeks after he died, just to see the progress on the investigation because I can't make any progress with paper work without it. They coroner told me that they had the report done and finished when Bunker picked my husband up from them. So I called Bunkers and the lady at the front desk checked and said the death certificates were there and ready to be picked up. I understood they were to be mailed to me. They weren't mailed and I received no phone calls to let me know they were ready. I'm completely disappointed at the failure to communicate on this point. I signed paperwork so I could pick the death recipes up that said someone had tried to call me in early February, actually the day after my husband was buried. I never got a call or a message. So in summary, I'm very happy with everything except the communication on the death certificates. read more

While recently attending a service at this location I was appalled at the workers discussing their problems loudly while we awaited the casket being lowered, the worker then proceeded to dump the dirt on our beloved and jump onto the casket and stomp up and down, they then had us wait while they had to go and get more dirt and then watch again while they stomped up and down. I have been to a few funerals over the years but this was terrible !! read more

Ok. First of all I got to say my husband used Bunker's for both my mother in law (God Bless her) and my Father In law (God Bless him); so with my daughter's guidance we choose Bunker's. From the pick up to receiving his ashes all was good. My issue with Bunker's lies with his death certificate. The front desk associate wanted me to sign off on everything before I saw the certificates. I must remind you DC's aren't cheap. As I read the DC's the social security number was incorrect; I gave her the correct number and left with my husband's ashes. It wasn't until a FULL 7 days to notify me to rectify this. They called and when I was there giving them a copy of his SS card I asked when will I receive the updated copies. She said "I don't know ~~ another 7 days ~~ maybe 8/9/10"... ??? My children are suffering, I'm delaying every type of closure, and I'm getting rather peeved at this point. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!! When Bunkers arrived to pick up my mother the gentleman made me feel extremely comfortable, he even asked if my mom had a favorite music that they could play in the car. It went downhill from there. We decided to have my mother's body shipped back home and Bunkers became very difficult to work with and dragged their feet from this point on. They did not return calls and the friendliness disappeared instantly. Because they drug there feet my mother's funeral services are now being prolonged. In a time of grief we want to have a funeral and get it done and over with and Bunkers has not allowed us to do that. Something that should have taken a few days, now is taking over a week. I especially would like to thank Nick for not returning my calls or the funeral homes where we wanted to send my mother to and Joel Lee The office manager, Joel lee is not pleasant to work with at all.
