I found them here on Yelp and I obtained 3 quotes for the job. I had the quotes reviewed by an independent contractor who told me L&R's quote was what the job should reasonably cost. I called 4 references who all had a similar and very positive experience. Lawrence always communicated with me about schedule which had not been the case with other contractors. They were there working on my job every day, not showing up once or twice a week like some others. Any fluctuation to schedule or budget was discussed and agreed upon by both parties. We had a couple of unexpected plumbing delays but that was due to the original build not being up to the current code. I changed direction on a couple of design decisions and Lawrence was right there with me. The work was exceptional and the end product is amazing. I have had the nightmare contractor experience so was very cautious. This was exactly as the process should be and I plan to have them back in the fall to do more work. From start to finish, everything about my experience was handled professionally, quickly, and fairly. I had an upstairs shower that had been a nightmare from the first day we bought the house. Mr. Swann gave me a run-down of the process of how this would get fixed, an accurate timeline, and a good list of expectations. His crew was extremely professional, making all of the demolition and construction process occur without any clean-up on my end. It was time to redo our 25 year old pressure treated deck as the deck boards were beginning to…read morecrack and become troublesome for us for some time. We asked about 4 contractors to quote to replace our deck boards, railing and steps while reusing our 6x6 pressure treated post. Dan's quote was both competitive and fair which turned out to be the best option for us. We were glad to find that Dan's helpful and patient manner with all potential deck design options were seriously taken into consideration. He addressed our requests accurately and politely while working up our quote. His crew was obviously well skilled and well managed which served to ensure a quality job for us. As the crew were demoing our old deck they found that most of our pressure treated 6x6 post were up to 65% rotted out due to ground contact - fortunately our deck joist were still in great shape and could be reused. Dan advised how the extra work would affect the job and we were very happy with his adjustment to the original quote (he was most fair). Dan's no-pressure style with the job was a big part of helping us be confident that the job would turn out great during the build phase (which may be stressful to some). Bottom line - Dan did a great job for us at a fair price in a time window he said he would. The crew was very respectful and did a great job with the deck build and clean up afterwards.

I asked what cabinet distributors they used and she couldn't give me a name, she said they use many. I then asked what the difference would be between getting a particular cabinet color (not knowing what my options were or what would be in stock without a company name), and she said custom vs semi custom are just words and that it's all pretty much custom so it wouldn't make a difference. Upon asking a few more questions, she proceeded to tell me "I'm not sure if you saw, but our company has almost a 5-star review and that's almost unheard of". I didn't know what to make of it, but considering what some of their reviews mentioned, I felt as though we were going to get the same treatment. She said she'd get back to me by Friday with a quote and a visual of the kitchen updates-- it was Tuesday that day. We gave her a call that Friday afternoon to follow up and she insisted that the cabinet company was taking a while and that she'd get back to us by Monday the latest if not over the weekend. We waited and got nothing so my husband called her the following Wednesday without ever hearing from her. She continued to reassure us that she hasn't forgotten about us and that she'd get back to us by Monday for sure. It's now been 21 days and we got no updates or any communication from them. It's clear that this is a pattern for them and I'd advise someone looking to get work done by someone reliable and honest to look elsewhere.
