Buzz came to my home, on 11/05/2025, to provide an estimate for installation of a ceramic tile, kitchen floor (~77 sq. ft.); stayed a little over an hour reviewing the project and making small talk about unrelated topics (after having been sent photos and a thorough description of job prior to scheduling a visit); stated he would send the estimate within a few days but wouldn't be able to start until the week after the Thanksgiving holiday; then left. As of 12/08/2025, I have not received the estimate, nor heard from Buzz Bunting again. Very unprofessional. I hate having strangers come into my private residence for the purpose of providing service/estimates then disappearing without a word...feels weird and sketchy. Based upon same, I would not recommend Bunting Home Improvements. One star was required for me to include a review and is fair for what was provided. read more

Total cost $5,120. Bunting Home Improvement is Buzz (Paul), whom we found experienced and skilled in the areas hired. He installed exterior wall lanterns; prepared a slab patio for tile work using an engineered overlay and installed porcelain tile. The patio is just 140 sq ft. He discovered that the pre-existing slab was not square and squared it expertly. We appreciated his attention to detail and voluntarily paid him 50% more than quoted for this part of the project. Buzz knows his craft. He enjoys bringing a vision to fulfillment. He can be trusted to bid for work in his skillset. He is not the lowest cost option and should not be. He is better than many. You will see the difference between hiring a medium skill worker vs hiring a craftsman when you hire Buzz. Once onsite, he usually worked methodically. He installed the tile with no breakage. He covered his work to protect it. There were multi-day intervals between start and finish, so this was crucial. Buzz is a conversational guy, as is his brother who worked with him. His brother also demonstrated commitment to quality work. As a tradesperson, Buzz does good work. Our patio tile turned out great. In terms of scheduling, working with Buzz was not stress-free, even with a sense of humor about him being from another dimension, a land where there is no time LOL. His calendar is some brand of kooky clock we can't translate! The schedule was not straightforward. Estimates of labor hours/days, a normal process, were not clear. Once he spent the entire day getting supplies, so we asked him to get the supplies and then tell us the actual onsite workday. Communication is oddball. An example is when he was initially coming to do a site inspection at 12 noon then 2 pm then 3 pm - and instead showed up after dark. The next time he came was before daylight. Neither of those choices provided an opportunity to inspect the site. Bizarre. There was a casualness about time that did not respect our time sensitivities, and did not change despite our communication. There were multiple occasions when arrival was hours later than stated, not due to weather delays. This was inconvenient! As small business operators ourselves, we aim to score crave points vs. hate points with clients. Anyone read Blue Ocean Strategy, What Customers Hate, What Customers Crave, The Experience Economy...no? We are unnecessarily caught out when contractor timing is unpredictable. As clients, we had to keep re-scheduling the project succession, moving the iron railing worker, moving the adjacent flagstone pathway contractor...all because...we don't know what! That wasn't entirely fair to anyone, least of all for us the client. I do not think he thinks about the domino effect. Take a chill pill if you hire him - he will do good work in his own sweet time. No blue ocean for you unless you vibe off manana time and do not give a whit about time value of money. Very high-quality off the wall molasses experience with kooky comms is fair to say. Progress on our tile patio with average 4.5 hour workdays was average 20 sq feet per day. The entire patio took over 10 workdays with 2 people working and with work hiatus it was over 3 weeks to complete. we would have been much happier, with earlier arrivals longer workdays, and a shorter tenure to completing the project. The cavalier sense of time is a fault line. he could have better client communication and service, but the trades work is solid. read more

Buzz Bunting (Bunting Home Improvements) worked in my home in June & July 2019. He did a partial renovation in one full bath (replaced the tub, floor tile, and part of the shower tile) and reglazed the tub in my other full bath. Buzz was very friendly and trustworthy; I was very comfortable with him and his crew coming and going from my home while I was not there. We hit a few hiccups with the shower tile grout mixture, problems with the tub plumbing and connections, and the jobs took quite a bit longer than expected but through it all Buzz was very communicative, committed to doing a good job, and stuck to his very fair initial price (I also paid for all materials, including unexpected things that came up which were related to quirks of my home). He did good work and I'm happy with the outcome (see photos). I also appreciate the extra little things he did that he didn't have to, like exchanging the tub I bought when we found it cracked in the box and fixing my washing machine connection when he had to move it to get to the tub and discovered a problem. Buzz planned and scheduled a bathroom remodel for us, however he needed to push it back a few months. I contacted him again in a few months and he again pushed the date back another few months. I had already purchased the materials and was excited to begin the project. Buz never did the project or even contacted me after the second reschedule. Disappointed. read more

I hired Buzz after Roto Rooter came in to look at a clogged sewer main. Roto Rooter wanted to charge me thousands of dollars to tear up the foundation and remove a broken drain auger a previous home owner left in the sewer line. Buzz came in and for less than 10% of what Roto Rooter wanted, was able to pull the drain auger out without having to tear up the floor. I've hired him for other work since and have been very impressed with the quality of his work. Buzz is a true jack of all trades. Buzz did not complete the job, damaged the tile during the process and left for us to fix it, lied about hours spend working on the project constantly talking on the phone with his girlfriend. At the end of the day asked to be paid per "emergency rates" never mentioning about it during the estimate. Buzz not only found gross errors from the previous contractor, which he fixed, but quickly jumped on-board to finish the job in a very professional and perfectionist manner. Buzz is outstanding! Helped us out with some shingles that had been blown loose/off by the recent winds and storms. Made room in his busy schedule, came over and took care of things in very short order. While doing the repair he walked the roof to determine overall status. Very honest, said we had plenty more time left with the roof. Others that we've had do repairs in the past have told us the roof would need replacement in very near future--not having the funds, we just prayed we wouldn't have problems.
