A stop at Burberry was on my bucket list during my short stay in NYC to celebrate my birthday. I missed the opportunity while in London but managed to make it over to the NYC SoHo location during my final day in the city. What a treat. The store interior is beautiful, with lovely displays of accessories, handbags, wallets and footwear on the first floor. It was about 20 minutes until closing time when I arrived, so I didn't go upstairs. I was really looking for either a hat or scarf to keep the nippy NYC winter chill at bay. Despite the fact that I had arrived near closing time, employees in the store welcomed me to browse to my heart's content no differently than if the store had just opened. That's how you know you're in an upscale boutique. I really had a good time shopping here, and stayed for about 20 or 30 minutes before deciding on the perfect scarf. I love hanging on (and nearby) Spring Street. Burberry is another store I enjoy visiting when I'm hanging around Spring Street. I have a Burberry Trench Coat and I purchased one for my daughter too. I think customer service must be an American invention. Certainly not something we learned from he Brits. My blouse arrived completely wrinkled and unwearable. The "customer service" rep at Burberry did not care. My husband bought me a $1200 silk blouse direct from Burberry, for Christmas. Besides that it almost did not arrive in time even though he ordered it weeks in advance, when it did arrive it was completely wrinkled. He has never ironed anything in his life and has no idea how to turn on an iron, so he wrapped up the blouse that looked like a dish towel after being wrung, as best he could and gave it to me. Fortunately, I had picked it out on line so I knew it could look better. And I know how to use an iron. I had not worn the blouse as of one month after I received it, because it needed ironing. I hate to iron! Finally, I decided to get to it. Unfortunately, as all my blouses are dry clean only, I rarely use my iron. Usually only for cloth napkins. I am a good American who does not iron her sheets! The ironing board is something I got at Muji and is used on a table or counter top. I chose the counter top. I did not see there was an open pen sitting on the counter. Ugh, bad to worse. I now had ink on the blouse. I am resourceful so I managed to wash it out as it was a fresh mark. But of course I could not wear the blouse as it was all wet. I realized I should have sent it back and told Burberry to send me the blouse in a condition that could be worn. I decided to complain. After a few emails, the response was bring the blouse to a store--actually, not me, they wanted my husband to bring it in as he purchased it. Nope- not happening. I will spend the time trashing Burberry online instead . How very stupid. All I wanted was an apology and maybe a $20 gift certificate just to show they cared and that sending out an unpressed silk blouse was a mistake. Guess not. This is just business as usual. I love Burberry. It is one of the few designer names I would actually drop wads of money to buy stuff (namely outerwear). The sales associates (especially the cute Asian guy) are all really nice and they don't pester you when you are browsing. There is mostly the Prorsum line here, with a few pieces from the cheaper lines. Prorsum is way out of my budget so I could only admire the pieces from afar... There is a decent selection of bags, belts and cashmere scarves here as well. Also some adorable shoes are here (once again out of my budget comfort zone). Burberry products are not well made and they do not stand behind the quality of their merchandise. If something is wrong they will give you a run around, then tell you there is nothing they can do. Their corporate location is no help either, spoke to a person named Austin, talked me around in circles and told me they stand behind the retail location decision to not do anything with the defective product. Here's what i love about this store. Its super eclectic. Its contains London, Brit, and Prorsum. Only deal with the male associates, they are the only ones that cater to you. Here's what I don't like so much about this store... the associate who plays you for a fool... The asian girl.. So I went in and fell hard for the fur coat with the treach look. I was looking at the coat and proceeded to want to take it off the hanger and the rude asian said please check the size before you remove it from the hanger so I turned and said, clearly you know its not my size so please get me the correct size. She come out with a 42. I asked, what is a 42, she said 6- 8. I said why would you bring me a 6-8 when you clearly knew the one of display was not my size and you proceed to attempt to keep me from even taking it off the hanger. She was like, this is largest size we have. My response was all you had to say was that you didn't have my size...you didn't want me to try on the one on the hanger and then you proceed to bring out another coat that doesn't fit. What did we accomplish here other than you attempting to insult on so many levels. So I went to the Burberry on 5th Ave. and made that purchase. And there went her commission. read more

oh what a treat! i love the Soho Burberry. conveniently located, next to more British retailers, and the selections are younger and fresh. walking inside- i ran over to the earmuffs. i'm obsessed with earmuffs, so i tried on every single color. i like the plain ol' tan colored ones. too bad i don't have a pic of those! I have shopped at this location twice.. my first experience fine, my second and last trip to this store was not. I came in Janurary 2013 to purchase two polo shirts and upon entry, I was not greeted and spent a few minutes searching for a retail associate to assist me. Once I did find an associate, she was not very personable and was a bit rude when I wanted to use a gift card for partial payment and my debit card for the rest. Ever since I tried a Burberry trench coat on at the 5th ave store a few years ago it's been in the back of my mind. (I couldn't afford it back then!) I came back to the same 5th ave store recently and was disappointed to find the coat I wanted was no longer there but there were similar classic styles. I very rarely, if ever, write reviews and I cannot believe how TERRIBLE their customer service is. For a luxury brand - Are you kidding me?? Jonathan was quite possibly the most snobby, "No"-minded sales associate alive. I live on the west coast and needed to purchase a gift for a friend. He refused to help me find a purchase solution (no credit cards over the phone, no credit card authorization forms, cannot buy online and pick up in store- all my ideas by the way but NOPE! None worked for him!). Not only did he talk over me and refuse to actually help me, all he said was "no, no, no, no, oh... and no!". I ended up having to pay a hotel down the street that I frequently stay at to get the item and then charge me... Absolutely ridiculous. I will never shop here again and if I wasn't in a time crunch as it is I would have facilitated something else. Further, I waited on hold for 11 *effing* minutes just to confirm he still had the gift on hold after he ignored my texts... I can't even stomach the fact that he will make commission on this sale... Aside from your dashingly handsome looks, seductive style and deliciously put together pieces of fabrics, nothing beats walking into your store and rubbing my face against your sheer nylon blend dress shirts. It probably would probably suit me better if I did that, WHILE you were wearing it. Burberry Prorsum is pretty much godly. A lot of people would probably think otherwise. But why? Look at the colorways, the design, the details, the fabrics. The time and effort it takes to put thousands of studs on a trench coat. The asymmetrical hand done paillette/sequin detailing, super low sheer silk blended sweaters, acid brights... I could go on. Although the pricepoints of most luxury brands are high up there, just do yourself a favor and examine what you're looking at. Look at the inside of the garment. Examine the stitching. Adore the fine fabrics and time consuming detailing. And then also take note to how long its going to last you in perfect condition. You pay for quality. read more

This was my first time ever buying something online at Burberry and having it shipped to be picked up at the store. I just thought it would be easier that way since I was going to be downtown anyway and wouldn't have time the day of pick up to search for the item (thinking efficiency-wise). Even though this seemed smart to me, I probably should have done this at Bloomingdale's or some other retailer. I guess the first part is on Burberry HQ, because they said that my order wouldn't have next-day delivery because of a quirk in their system. Luckily, I had ordered it two days before I went to pick it up so it did go through and eventually came in to the store and I was notified. I've never had that happen anytime I've dealt with pick-up in store with any other retailer, but just saying, others be wary. Now, as for my actual in-store experience... it was not the best. I expect Burberry to have good customer service because it's not like going into an H&M and purchasing clothes. It has a sophisticated brand and that's what I expect. But the person at H&M actually greets me. Clearly, the salesperson standing there looked at me, acknowledged me, and didn't say anything to me. Whatever, I approached her anyway and said that I had an in-store order. She then proceeded to direct me to another person, who handled it for me, but seemed like he had some issues dispatching to the person upstairs about my order. The first salesperson starts questioning me, as if I hadn't ordered it and then a third salesperson comes out of nowhere and also starts questioning me. It was just a lot for me to handle - and kind of unprofessional to be completely honest with you. Shouldn't you guys be helping other customers? After triggering major anxiety, they found my order and they didn't even check my ID or the card it was placed with (even though they said they would). So after making me feel like I had done wrong on my part, they don't even check if I'm the right person? This experience was just so frustrating to me and unexpected. The sales person (age 30-35) short lady with a short hair told me that they don't have my order there on Spring St and I have to call customer service to resolve this problem, that's after when I received email from the website. I called customer service, they said that my order in the store!!! On a next day store Mailed my order back, bc I never picked up it. There was no reasons for returning it. This review is long due. So I usually prefer the midtown location where I get most of my outfits for work. But few month ago my sister and mother were in chinatown and decided to checkout the recently re-opened soho location instead. They ended up buying a polo shirt for my aunt as a gift and the price tag was partially ripped. They had asked the sales girl why was the tag ripped and confirm that if we were to change our mind, return was possible. Because of their language barrier with the salesperson, another Chinese sales guy kindly stepped in and translated to our salesperson what my mother was asking. The Chinese employee assured us that return was possible as long as we had our receipt. So my mother and sister believed the staffs and bought the shirt. A week later when my sister went back trying to return the shirt, she had such an unbelievably hard time and awful experience. A woman on the first floor claimed herself to be the manager but sadly didn't provide the service a manager should! My sister had the original receipt but the "manager" was very rude and refused to issue a refund. Although my sister's English wasn't as fluent but she understood the unprofessional "manager" tried to accused her of possibly purchased this at Bloomingdales or even worst, that it was a stolen item. SERIOUSLY??? is that consider high end customer service? SO RUDE AND DISGUSTINGLY DISRESPECTFUL!! Accusing your customer of a thief when she has the original receipt?? Luckily the Chinese sales from last time was there. He explained the entire situation to the "manager" and guaranteed her that my sister did purchased the shirt here with another sales girl the week before and the tag was already ripped apart at the time of purchase. My question is if the customer has the original receipt then what seems to be the problem for requesting a return? The receipt has the store address on it. So how can they say the shirt was purchased from another store?? More or less we feel my sister and mother were being discriminated because we were Chinese and did not speak english well. My experience 2 weekends ago were awesome. Sales folks was not aloof nor were they up my butt as soon as I walk in. My salesperson Kim was excellent. Help explained different lines/material/cut. A must-see for me whenever I'm in Soho. One of my favorite shops. Yes I know they are expensive but I don't care I love my Burberry. So occasionally I wouldn't mind splurging a little. Love the handbags, the shoes and coats. They have a great lineup of fragrance, they all smell really good. I can't wait to use the special edition London. I have to begin by saying my problem is not with an actual store but the website. They are in a word "HORRIBLE". I ordered a $200.00 item and when it was delivered it was the wrong item. I was told because the photo on the website was wrong. You'd think a multi-million dollar corporation would have a better handle on their website but whatever. I immediately returned it and was told it would take 3-5 business days. On the 5th day when I didn't get my refund I called customer service and after being on hold for 50 minutes was told it will take 7 days. On the 7th day I called customer service and after being on hold for 46 minutes was told it would take 10 days. It's obvious they keep extending the date to cover up their incompetence. When I finally got a supervisor (Elizabeth) she said she couldn't call the people in the return department because they don't have a phone. A multi-million dollar company with no phone? She then said she would send an e-mail and get back to me. Another day went by and I didn't hear from her so I called and after another long wait on hold she informed me she spoke with the return department (I thought they didn't have a phone?) and they were confused by the return because it didn't match the photo on the website...a fact that is their fault and was mentioned on the return slip so I don't understand the confusion. As of now, 13 days and 8 business days have passed and I still don't have my refund. I am considering going to the Better Business Bureau and Federal Trade Commission. I was a regular Burberry customer but will never buy there again and neither will the people who work with me. Horrible service, long waiting time, employees that either lie or are just stupid. read more
