She responded to my email and told me she would hold the purse I wanted . I went in before I went on vacation , was offered champagne and had a lovely experience. The store was not crowded , the layout is easy to find what you want . Andrea was so helpful that I I purchased an additional item . I picked this store partly because it was close to my job and I am happy with the value added as the customer service was excellent. My favorite YSL bag broke, so I came to the store to see if they'd be able to help with the repair. This is a nice store, no line to get in, and lots of staff available to help. Angela was very, very helpful when processing my request, and gave me all the options to fix the strap. I decided to send it in so that the full chain could be replaced even though it's expected to take 4-6months. In total, $160 to repair the chain. Was sold a "used" bag but according to John the store manager, it's not but it's still defective which doesn't make it any better. Not once did he apologize and say I'm sorry this happened to you, this won't happen again. Instead he raised this voice and spoke to me in a very condescending tone and said "WE DIDN'T SELL YOU A USED BAG, DOES THIS LOOK LIKE A USED BAG?" He said he was trying to help me but his attitude wasn't helping at all. I'm the customer at a luxury boutique being yelled by the manager when I did nothing wrong. The boutique is wrong for selling a defective bag in the first place. He kept saying he couldn't see the stains and the scratch and said I've been the manager for 9 years and I even missed it, he kept trying to downplay the situation. I didn't pay full price for a defective/used bag. If I wanted a defective/used bag I would've found something from the preloved market for much cheaper. I bought at the boutique to get the full experience for the packaging and everything. He said oh the SA wrapped and packed it so nicely for you... yea because it's his job! He kept rejected to refund me for the bag but I wouldn't be asking for a refund if you didn't sell me a piece of crap to begin with. I had to ask him to speak to someone higher up and that's when he said he would give me a refund. It's insulting that I'm sold a defective bag to begin with then yelled by the manager because he can't handle the fact that his store sold me a defective bag?... that's that ridiculous. DO BETTER! Finally, a cool Downtown version from an Uptown type of company..... The interior is more architectural than other YSL stores - skylights, columns, tin ceilings and concrete flooring. Oh how I love you YSL - got one of their rings before they are discontinued. read more

Excellent and good looking customer service :D, our guy was helpful showing us different options of bags and wallets, he never pressured us like most annoying sales people, and he offered us beverages as we shopped and decided on items. My best friend and I came here back in September because I had been obsessing over a particular bag and, whether due to a quarter life crisis or the temptation of a new Amex, decided to treat myself. I can't recall the sales associate who helped us, but he was incredibly helpful and had a great personality. We were offered champagne as I painstakingly decided between two different styles of the same bag for 20 min. While always ready to offer assistance, our sales associate did not hover or pressure any extra add-ons to my purchase, which is always appreciated! Oh wow ok, that was a waste of time. Walked in, nobody approached us to sell us anything, so we left. Sometimes you want to pull them aside and tell them: Dude (or dudette as it may be) you are not the designer, you are not a model paid to wear the clothes, and you are not here to guard the stuff that is sitting on the racks. You are a sales dude/dudette which means it is your job to take money out of our wallet and hand us merchandise based on the numbers on the price tag. Just as well that Hedi is no longer creating for this shop that we have less of a reason to darken the doorways of this place in the future. Save yourself the time and effort and just to go the flagship store on 57th. Larger selection, no attitude, same price. read more

This is quickly becoming my favorite brand... I'm all about clean & simple and Saint Laurent never disappoints. Customer service was lacking but that is pretty common at a boutique. One important thing to know is there are no returns at Saint Laurent (exchange or store credit within 10 days only) so you're better off buying at a high end department store. The main reason reason I purchased at this boutique was because I have not seen the item I purchased at any other location or department store. I would probably recommend going to the location off 5th Ave over this one in Soho. read more

Hedi Slimane is fashion's biggest rock star and his pieces make you feel like one, too. The aesthetic of Saint Laurent is perfect for slim people; I find that for myself, it's the only one that fits my body and personality well in the entire sphere of high fashion since Hedi left Dior Homme in 2007. I had a wonderful experience shopping at this store over the weekend and came home with the comfiest, skinniest pair of jeans I've ever tried. Fall/Winter 2014 is the best collection yet. Saint Laurent is also responsible for the best leather boots and jackets on the market. The music that plays in this store is hand-picked by Slimane every month and features the coolest playlist from those indie-bands-youve-never-heard-of-but-want-on-your-ipod-and-know-should-be-wearing-these-clothes. The architecture in this building is from a whole other world. This store houses itself in the old Helmut Lang retail store from the 90's and was redesigned by Hedi to present the simplicity of modernism, not lacking in black and white marble slabs, dressing rooms with 1,000 mirrors, and furniture that could have been stolen from the Farnsworth house. The employees at this store are down to earth, cool people dressed in all black who represent Slimane's image spectacularly. When trying on clothes you'll be offered the choices of sparkling water or champagne and get the full star-struck experience. Andy was very attentive to every customer and helped me find the perfect piece while exhibiting a very relatable personality to my own. All in all, Saint Laurent is the best on the market right now and if you have the cash and a skinny profile, you cannot go wrong. read more

Very straight forward, will actually list other stores if they don't have a particular item you're looking for. The ONLY somewhat complaint I have is that they take rather long to do the transaction. I've been looking to purchase a SLG from Saint Laurent to fit into my smaller crossbody bags and figured why not drop in during my weekend nyc visit. My mom and I came in for a browse and Charles was very helpful, knowledgeable, and patient with us without being pushy. The best way to describe the sales staff at this store is to say that they remind me of people who once worked at Abercrombie & Fitch in high school. They have since graduated to Hedi Slimane's designs and a tonier address in SoHo, but at their core they are still a pointlessly stuck up (and frankly, not particularly intelligent) bunch of bratty teenagers. I've been into this store a few times, each time mesmerized by the bad service. This past week, I went in already knowing what I was going to buy - a wallet for my girlfriend. I picked it out on their website, went in during my lunch break, and was the only customer in the store. So...this should be really fast and painless, right? Nope. Trying to get one of these prissy sales associates to acknowledge you, let alone help, is basically impossible. Once I found a girl to help me, she stood there texting on her phone the whole time, answering my questions with one-word "uhuh....yup....nah" type answers. Umm, isn't she working on commission? And again, I'm the only customer in the store, so presumably I'm her once chance of making some actual money this afternoon, right? Forget it. I walked out, and ordered the wallet on Net-a-Porter on my phone on the way back to the office. I'd rather give a computer my commission than this girl. Their clothes are awesome and for anyone with an extra mortgage payment to drop on a jacket, head to the 57th Street store for what seemed to be infinitely better service. read more

This review is solely for the customer service I experienced here and not the products itself. The associate I worked with was a tall blonde and she did not introduce herself so I don't know her name. I came by after work one day to buy a wallet for my boyfriend. I had already looked at some wallets online and was pretty much set on which one I wanted to buy so I just wanted to see it in person and get it gift wrapped. The associate who helped me had a snarky attitude and acted as if she had better things to do than her job... I asked her to show me the wallet I wanted along with a few other options just to compare. Already she was giving me attitude when I asked her to show me other wallets when pulling open a drawer is not that hard. Anyways, I decided to go with my original choice so I asked her if they had a brand new one in stock. She looks underneath the table for a long time and states they don't have it... I had called the store right before I left work to make sure they had it in stock and the person on the phone informed me they did so I don't get it... She then stands here on the side awkwardly so I ask her if I can order it... After the uncomfortable silence is over, she states I can have it shipped so she gives me a form to fill out and disappears to the back room for another 15 mins to process my order. When she finally returns, she asks me if signature required for the package is okay? Uh... why would I refuse a signature required on a package? I tell her yes and she disappears into the back for another 15 minutes. Then this time when she comes back out, she tells me she found the wallet in the back... At this point, I wasted approximately 30 minutes in this store standing around waiting for her to process a simple order form and she doesn't even offer me water or sympathy for her incompetence. Gift wrapping took another 15 minutes but at this point, I was too tired to care. Next time, please make sure you're actually looking for an item carefully before you tell me that it's not in stock and waste over 30 minutes of my time processing an order when I can easily do that myself online in 1 minute. read more

Five stars for Hedi Slimane and the best denim since 2004 Dior Homme. Two stars for staff that is too busy talking amongst themselves to answer questions or assist. This store carries the full line up of Saint Laurent's collections- men's, women's, bags, shoes and accessories. The decor is black, white, silver and marble and it's a pretty cool space. If you're shopping here you probably already understand that the prices are high, and for that price you should get good service. I've had good luck at the 57th street flagship store, but the staff in this location seem too cool to care, even when you are the only customer in the store. I'll continue to come back because it's convenient and I like the clothing, but I won't enjoy the experience. read more

Loved my experience shopping at Saint Laurent in soho. Came in with the goal of buying a pair of boots and ended up purchasing a beautiful pair of Chelsea boots to go with... My new suit! Hedi Slimane knows how to tailor for a slim frame (I wear a US size 38) and the associate helped pin a few minor alterations (hem, collar, etc). The suit messengerd to my apartment less than a week later and fits perfectly! Highly recommend this location and knowledgeable, friendly sales staff. read more
