Unique, comfortable, spacious place to stay. Quiet and private area. Stay with pets, including horses, and they will be grateful too!

Let me be perfectly clear by saying this is the first time I can give a perfect score to anyone or…read moreany place. I've stayed in Ritz that bored me compared to this opulent experience at the Rosewood Manor. My husband and I stumbled across Rosewood while looking for a way to celebrate our anniversary and set off some fireworks in our relationship. Thank goodness we found Gary. Driving up to a dimly lit paradise at sunset, greeted by a glass of wine and a wonderful ray of sunshine, Donna, was a good start. We were exhausted and hadn't been having a good week. The mood changed instantly when arriving. The atmosphere is flawless. You feel at home, except better. The house is breathtaking. Gary, the owner, is a brilliant and accommodating host. His attention to detail pulls together the whole experience. Not only is it a remarkable home to begin with, but the way it has been dressed is the key. You can have a beautiful home and a lot of money...and still have no taste. Gary has impeccable taste. Now when it comes to his precious antiques, an outstanding collection of marvelous artwork and to top it all off, he's a gourmet chef... it's safe to say he knows what he's doing. He's also a walking encyclopedia. Our stay was extended due to car trouble. Thank you, Jesus. Gary continued to accommodate us by letting us stay two more unexpected nights, and helped us find a mechanic. He cooked multiple breathtaking meals, that we are still craving. He actually changed breakfast for us in our home. Guests now ask us where we got all these amazing ideas. We of course say "Gary." After a day of great conversation, and lounging by the pool, we would go to sleep in the most comfortable bed my husband and I have ever slept in. Every night we would say "something has got to happen... it can't all be perfect." The following evening Gary and Donna made us an exquisite anniversary dinner. Finally, I said "it's all perfect." Around every corner is a surprise, and a pleasant one at that. There's always something new to learn or a story to be heard. My family and I are already planning a summer trip to go visit Dr. Chef and Miss Donna. While I did take several photos, they aren't photos I would post. You need to go see for yourself how truly magnetic and affluent a weekend away can be. I would rather drive hours out of my way to stay here, than at any hotel. On a scale of one to ten, Rosewood Manor is a strong one billion.

The bed is firm but super comfortable, like hard to get up cause you want to stay there all day comfort. The linens are the nicest quality I've ever seen in any hospitality setting. Very upscale. Now the breakfast part, I would pay just to be able to eat here again. The owner is super friendly and wow can he make you feel welcome. The setting is gorgeous, serene and offers many spots to sit and enjoy a glass of wine it early morning coffee. Cannot say enough great things, so glad places like this still exist where you have personalized service.

The town is pretty small and is situated literally next to a college. What threw me of is it was completely vacant because outside of the proprietor I didn't see anyone else. But hey it was ok because it was nice and quiet. I spent some time in the library before headed to bed. My king room upstairs #2 was very large and had quite a bit of room. The bed was super comfy. The bathroom was decent & had decent water pressure. I do wish there was more lighting over the mirror to make it easier to shave. Breakfast was interesting because I've never had grits if that's what it was but it looked like it so that's what I'm going with . Overall for the $140 for the night I enjoyed it. I feel for the owners because it's such a large place I wish there was more people staying. I did read reviews from previous stays that they offer dinner but it was completely empty the pizza I had seen in picks looked really good

Our stay at The Chestnut Cottage was one of the highlights of our trip. We loved all the thoughtful touches in our room--from the welcome cheesecake and strawberries to the snacks, drinks, Keurig with a wide selection of coffee and tea, warming eye masks, quality toiletries, and bubble bath. Our room featured an adjustable king bed and a large jacuzzi tub, and the bed was the most comfortable we've slept in on our trip. After dinner, we enjoyed relaxing on the front porch, strolling through the quiet historic neighborhood, and spending time in the beautiful secret garden beneath the old trees. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious and served at the time we requested. The Chestnut Cottage is more than just a place to stay--it's a place where you feel genuinely cared for. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already looking forward to our next visit.
