I love the design of the jewelry pieces but would not recommend their jewelry due to the very low quality. Purchased two set of earrings in October. They have already tarnished. The gold is now sliver and rusty. When purchasing the earrings at the store, the staff was extremely sweet and helpful. They also bragged about the quality of the pieces. Now having owned them, I would not waste money here again. I was very disappointed in how quickly they tarnished. When I called the store to speak with them about my purchase, the staff was very apologetic but could not offer an exchange or discount on future purchases. Basically saying tough luck. After a few weeks the "permanent" anklet fell off. Then after 1 month it fell off again. . I've had my jeweler put it back on again as I'm in Fort Worth and not driving to Houston for them to repair. Now after 2 months the jewel fell off. So much for permanent. And for the price I paid it really is a serious ripoff!! I would storing it suggest never buying anything from them. I am extremely dissatisfied with the quality of their jewelry. I bought a "14k gold" permanent necklace for $150, a "$14k gold" permanent bracelet for $125, and gold-filled earrings for $55. Within two weeks all three products had tarnished. I went back into the store and I said that 14k gold should not tarnish and I wanted a refund. They told me that there must be something wrong with my composition/sweat (???) but that they would replace the jewelry for free, so I got replacements. 2 weeks after that all 3 products tarnished again, and the earrings started to give one of my ears an infection. This is FALSE ADVERTISING. Real gold does not tarnish within 2 weeks (I have been wearing gold jewelry my entire life and have never had this issue). I went back and luckily the lady there was really nice and gave me a full refund on all of the products. But I still can't give a positive review because truly this is false marketing. Do NOT go here for quality jewelry. Their "gold" is NOT real gold. read more

I really wanted to like this place because it was so pretty and all of their jewelry is simple but I was very disappointed when I got a permanent anklet from them last summer. I picked my chain and added a small letter initial to it and even though it was cute it was ridiculously over priced, I paid $140 for it. I wasn't upset about paying that much for it until it came off a month later!!! I went and got it re-welded on to my ankle and it fell off again!!! I wasn't doing anything athletic to cause it to come off I was just going about my day both times when it would come off. The second time it fell off I was lucky enough that one of my friends found it since to get it put on again I have to have it, they won't replace it. I haven't gone back to get it back on since it keeps coming off so it's just sitting there. Basically, it's not worth it at all and it kept coming off, definitely not sturdy enough and a waste of money! read more

I'm so sad because I really wanted to love this place. I went in last week to look around and had a nice time browsing being in a store with a cute aesthetic. There's no pricing on majority of the jewelry so you have to ask a staff member for pricing. I came back in a week later and was looking to buy two new earrings to replace my old jewelry on my forward helix. I asked a staff member how much the jewelry was and she informed me only the lady giving piercings knew the cost of jewelry and to wait to find out. I waited for her to be done piercing someone else and she told me the cost, then agreed to remove my old jewelry and place the new jewelry in my ears. The environment was not sterile. She tugged at my ear for awhile then grabbed a pair of pliers and continued to tug at my ear to undo the earring. After awhile she took another set of pliers out and started tugging at my piercing from both sides with pliers. This continues for about 10 minutes. We were making small talk as this happened as I was getting more and more uncomfortable trying to distract myself. She had asked if I wanted anymore piercings and I had mentioned I was thinking of getting my rook done. Instead of calling it my rook I pointed to it asking her "what's this called again?" And she replied "umm I think the name starts with an r?" It was then I was getting more concerned and uncomfortable that the lady with two pliers tugging at my ear didn't even know the names for other common places on your ear people get pierced. I escaped by saying I would go to the place that pierced my ears in the first place a few years ago to have them remove it and come back for the other earrings another day. This place has a cute jewelry store aesthetic but it's highly concerning that their piercers have such little knowledge on piercings. I have 8 piercings and should have known better than to come anywhere other than a tattoo shop to shop for high quality jewelry, to have jewelry changed, or to get a piercing. If you are looking for ok jewelry this is an ok spot but if you are looking to get a piercing look up tattoo and piercing shops close to you. Hope this helps someone else read more

I watched the storefront go up in the construction process at MKT, I was very excited for it to open, had been eyeing their items for so long but with higher prices than I had anticipated I waited to make my purchase. When I finally decided to splurge I bought the Clare Bar Stud and Braided Semi Hoop Gold. They came in very cute packaging and I was so excited to wear them out. The earrings tarted to tarnish within a few weeks and a few wears, even with strict adherence to the care instructions. Imagine my disappointment! I recieved emails asking me to rate my purchase, so I did, twice. I voiced my concern with how cheaply made these expensive pieces were, and how sad I was that they did not hold up for longer than a month. Both times, the review was posted for an hour or so and then removed. I understand the small business not wanting bad reviews, however if that is the case they should not put out such cheaply made products. read more

I first heard about Burdlife on TikTok and instantly planned a trip out to Houston to be able to get some Permanent Jewelry done. I chose an anklet, as I am a very active person and wanted something that wouldn't get in the way. And gosh did I love the entire experience! Natasha worked with me to get my anklet exactly how I wanted, and was just such a pleasant person to be around! And when I accidentally caused my anklet to break and lost it, Natasha worked with me to get a replacement sent in the mail at no cost to me. Truly a great person to visit and see her creations! And her store is absolutely adorable and her jewelry is such great quality! read more

I would like to start off by saying that Natasha, the owner, was wonderful. You can tell she's very passionate about her jewelry and puts a lot of work into the designs she puts out. I visited Burdlife on Friday 6/25 to get some piercings done. Audrey, the PA, was also great and I love my new piercings. However, the customer service provided by the two sales employees on the floor was awful. Neither of them said anything to me when I walked in. I was looking around for a good 10 minutes before one of them finally came up to me and asked if I was doing ok. Before I even answered, she had already started walking off. I followed after her and told her I wanted to get some piercings done. She then instructed me to pick out my earrings and pointed to Audrey who she said was the PA. I told her I had some specific earrings in mind and needed help finding them. She seemed annoyed that I didn't already have them and like I was bothering her and even told me "why don't you take a look around first". I thought this was just how their customer service was across the board but after seeing their interactions with all the other customers, I began to feel like it was just me. The only thing that differentiated me from the others is that I am of Hispanic descent. I brushed all of this off and proceeded with my piercings, which is when I came in contact with Audrey and Natasha, who again, were very pleasant. After paying, I found some cash in my wallet which I went back to leave in Audrey's tip jar. I proceeded to leave the store but whenever I was outside I kept hearing someone yell "Miss! Miss!" I turned around and it was the other floor employee calling for me. After following me outside, she asked if I had paid for my piercings. I was a little confused but nonetheless, I answered yes and told her that her coworker had checked me out. She STILL seemed hesitant by my answer, almost as if she didn't believe me. It was only after I processed what had just happened that I started to feel the embarrassment of her following me out. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I can't help but think the reason I got this type of treatment was because I am of a different ethnicity. I have never felt so uncomfortable and embarrassed in my life. I don't understand why she didn't ask her coworker if I had paid or not if she was that lost. That is never how you handle this type of situation. I hope Natasha talks to her employees and makes it known that it is never ok to assume or treat someone differently simply by how they look. I hope no one else has to go through this biased treatment. read more
