I had the best experience with Rice Village Diamonds designing a custom ring. I tweaked the 3D CAD designs about six time before the ring was just as I wanted. I couldn't be happier!

Our one of a kind engagement ring

We are so grateful that we walked into Rice Village Diamonds! Our experience here was very different from other diamond stores we had been to. We felt like our needs were listened to and everyone was very attentive. I didn't feel like they were trying to push a sale rather they were very passionate about what they do and creating beautiful engagement rings. We walked in knowing we wanted to do a custom ring and they walked us through every step of the process. When we started building the possibility with Gil we knew we found our place. They found us the perfect sapphire oval stone and were able to create a beautiful one of a kind custom ring. Gil and the entire team at rice village are very knowledgeable and they even added a few more details that really elevated the design. We couldn't be happier and we will cherish this ring for a lifetime!

Custom ring two years in the making. Thanks Gil and Rice Village Diamonds!

Our custom engagement ring was two years in the making, and Rice Village Diamonds treated us with utmost friendliness and patience the entire way. I first walked in early 2019 to learn about rings and diamonds in general. I was upfront about my lack of intent to buy right away, but they were still incredibly patient with me. I came away with a lot of knowledge as well as a few interesting choices. Afterwards, I researched up and down, from Tiffany and Cartier at one end to friend-referred raw diamond dealers working out of dark vaulted back offices at the other end (and James Allen and Blue Nile in between). But my mind always came back to Rice Village Diamonds when it came to a balance of quality, customer service, and value. Unfortunately, personal tragedies in my now-fiance's life delayed the proposal, but when I walked back in a year and a half later, Gil was incredibly patient in spending hours with me over several sessions not only unearthing some of the old models I'd seen more than a year earlier just based on description, but also showing me a large variety of stones across a wide swath of price and qaulity ranges. As later confirmed by my own independent research, Rice Village Diamonds is really picky with their stones, picking diamonds that over-perform their on-paper stats (Is/Js that face up white, eye-clean SIs, under-sizes that face up large, etc.) In the end, Gil worked with me to create the perfect custom ring inspired by a few existing pieces and guided by his expert advice. When I was tempted to pay a couple thousand more dollars to "upgrade" our chosen stone (on paper), he even dissuaded me as he thought the diamond we had previously chosen was the best value-for-performance, and already perfect for the ring. He wanted to do justice to the ring, even though it would be at the cost of reduced profit. Rice Village Diamonds is great because they are not just a store to buy stuff from -- they are a your jeweler, a trusted advisor in the old school sense.

I have been going to Rice Village Diamonds for 3 years, even living in NYC having access to the diamond district, Rice Village Diamonds is my go-to place. Gil is professional and attentive. He will educate you on the diamonds you are considering. I never feel rushed and feel very taken care of. He sells Forever Mark Diamonds at an amazing price. I have converted all my friends and family to RVD.

We are thrilled with the fabulous service and gorgeous ring that Ron got for us! Truly a custom ring based on three months of working with us! I kept changing my wish list, and he helped through out the whole process! Extremely patient! He knows diamonds! He can beat any price. The setting by his brother made the perfect diamond perfect! My husband and I are celebrating 29 years with a new ring, and my ring could not be more beautiful!

Rice Village Diamonds was the best jewelry store experience I could have asked for! They really treat you like family here. From the beginning of choosing, designing, and ordering an engagement ring, Gil and his family and staff spent so much time with me to ensure I chose the best diamond and design for my budget. They supported me greatly through the process, and always followed through on their promises. As a result, I got a ring that was extremely beautiful and exceeded my expectations! They even created a beautiful video for me to share with my own family and friends! The proposal was incredible and I owe Rice Village Diamonds for making this dream possible. Will always recommend and a lifetime customer here!

I had a great experience at Rice Diamonds. I was recommended by 3 other guys I know who all got their rings from here. Before I went to Rice Diamonds I had shopped around with several brokers and a couple big named Diamond stores like "Robin Brothers" to get a perspective on 'Quality" diamonds. I was discouraged by the crap diamonds that these other places were selling so finally went in to Rice Diamonds to take a look. From the moment I walked in Cindy (who came highly recommended) was very helpful. I showed her what I was looking for from the setting all the way to the cut and color of the diamond. She was incredibly helpful and made the processes not stressful. Buying a ring can is stressful and it was nice to have someone who you could tell cared and wanted to help you come in budget with the best possible option. Cindy was just wonderful! A couple months after my first down payments I lost my job and had to downsize the diamond slightly to make my new budget (trying to take into account buying wedding bans later). She was so understanding and helped me find a diamond thatI was actually more excited about than the first one. A HUGE PLUS that I found helpful was that they will keep your ring in a safe for you on property for as long as you need it. Every other place I spoke with charges a "storage fee" or makes you take it out of the store. I liked being able to keep the ring in the store safe. It provided A) Comfort knowing that it was protected and if something were to happen they would be responsible and B) not having to hold on to this big investment and have it burn a whole in my pocket till the day of. I am proud to say that the engagement went to plan and my fiancé said "YES" and she absolutely loves her ring! We will be returning again to pick out our wedding bans soon!

Gil was amazing to work with and kept us in the loop throughout our entire process! We had such a great feeling working with this company from the second we walked through the door. Everyone we worked with was so polite and honest- not to mention their diamond selection is BEAUTIFUL! Highly recommend!

My fiancé and I had an AMAZING experience working with Gil for my engagement ring! I initially visited the store with a friend after my fiancé asked me to start looking and to give him some ideas. As soon as we walked in, Gil greeted us and after a short discussion as to what kind of rings I was interested in, he showed us lots of options. He let us take pictures of the rings I liked and let me try them on. He did a great job of letting us enjoy our girls day and didn't put any pressure on us. While I were there I fell in love with what is now my ring, so Gil made sure I had pictures and a video of the ring. My initial plan was to find a few styles I liked and then show them the my fiancé and leave the rest up to him, but after I told him about THE ring , we set up an appointment to meet with Gil together. Again, Gil was very welcoming and patient. He showed us the setting that I loved and spent a lot of time explaining diamond quality and what would look good in the setting I chose. He then showed us a variety of diamonds that would work in a range of prices. Again, he was never pushy and really took his time with us. My fiancé went back on his own to purchase the ring about a week later. He said that Gil was again patient and easy to work with. They custom made my setting around the diamond to ensure it would fit perfectly. It took about 2 weeks according to my fiancé, but he said that Gil asked if it needed to be ready by a certain date. After the proposal, I was amazed by how beautiful the ring turned out! I've gotten a ton of compliments on it and I smile every time I look at my left hand! I'm a veterinarian, so my hands can take a beating, but I've had no issues wearing my ring- we picked this particular style because it has a flatter profile, so easier to wear at work. Basically, we had a great experience working with Gil and I have a gorgeous ring!! I would highly recommend Gil and the Rice Village Diamonds! We can't wait to go back and pick out our wedding bands!

I love the ring my fiance and Gil designed

We couldn't be happier with my engagement ring. After visiting several other jewelers, my fiance found RVD and was pleasantly surprised with the impressive customer service. Gil was very helpful and patient with my fiance. He, along with my fiance, designed the perfect ring for me.

My fiancé and I LOVE Rice Village Diamonds. Our exceptional experience started with a friendly greeting and low pressure approach. It became apparent very quickly how knowledgeable Gil and his staff are, they went into great detail to give us options and not try to push us into something. Their service and knowledge blew away the other jewelry stores we went to in search of an engagement ring. Then to top it off, their prices for a better diamond and ring was a far better value than the competition, particularly given their exceptional service. I highly recommend buying a diamond from Gil and Rice Village Diamonds!!!

Love this beaded diamond wedding band I got!! Way better value than some other large retailers in town!

Ask the Community - Rice Village Diamonds

I bought my ring elsewhere. Do you guys offer ring sizing/polishing?

Since every piece we make adheres to the highest of standards, we cannot guarantee the same level of quality when repairing items bought elsewhere. For that reason we do not offer repair services for items that were not bought at our store.

How much to replace a watch battery here?

Unfortunately, we do not offer watch repair services.

I have a brand new wedding ring (white gold with round center stones, surrounded by more and additional ones on the side). I also have a new white band with small diamonds and sapphires. Never worn. Can you hel and is the appraisal paperwork needed?

You may bring your items in so we can get them appraised for you. An appraisal is required by most insurance companies in order to start an insurance policy for your jewelry.

Does Rice Village diamonds accept diamond jewelry on consignment? I have a few pieces of vintage jewelry, mostly Art Deco period, that I need to sell.

I was greeted nicely when I arrived, and I filled out a form about my style and what I was looking for. We discussed that for a while, which was fine, although the conversation didn't feel particularly fluid. I also want to acknowledge that the consultant helping me was nice. However, I don't know a lot about specific dress styles, fabrics, or materials, so I found the continuous questions about exactly what I wanted to be difficult. I often genuinely didn't know the answer, but I felt like I was expected to have a more specific answer. I was shown which styles were on each rack and then selected four dresses to try on. What really surprised me was that after I selected those dresses, no additional dresses were brought to me and I wasn't really given suggestions based on what I had chosen. I was essentially left to choose what I wanted from the racks myself. Unfortunately, the condition of many of the dresses was also very disappointing. I did see some dresses that appeared to be in good condition, so I don't want to imply that every dress in the store was damaged. However, the dresses that were closest to my style were the ones that seemed particularly worn, torn, yellowed/oxidized, or otherwise in poor condition. Some appeared visibly damaged. One of the dresses I tried on even had broken straps, so I was literally having to hold it up while wearing it because it wasn't staying in place properly. The fitting process was also extremely slow. It felt like it took roughly three times as long as any other bridal store I visited for each dress to be clipped and fitted in the back before I could come out of the dressing room. At one point, the dresses I had already tried on were left on the floor of the dressing room, and they weren't being picked up until I eventually couldn't stand the dressing room. By the time about an hour had passed, I felt like I had barely gotten through two dresses. The overall appointment was also very question-heavy, which became stressful for me. I have a hard time speaking up when I'm uncomfortable, and instead of feeling excited and helped throughout the appointment, I found myself feeling overwhelmed and anxious. The experience became so stressful and disappointing that I ended up leaving the appointment early rather than continuing through the rest of the appointment. Bridal dress shopping is supposed to be a fun and memorable experience, and unfortunately this one was neither for me. I was also surprised by the overall level of professionalism. The consultant assisting me was wearing a tube top, slides, and socks. I understand that dress codes vary, but given that this is a bridal boutique where brides are coming in prepared to potentially spend thousands of dollars, I expected a more polished and professional presentation. After the appointment, I contacted the boutique because I genuinely felt that the experience was unacceptable, particularly considering that I had paid an appointment fee. They agreed to refund my $19 fee, which I appreciated. However, four days later, I still have not received the refund or an update despite following up. I understand 4 days is not long, but I also feel that it says a lot when a bride takes the time to explain how upsetting and disappointing her appointment was, the boutique agrees to make it right, and then fails to respond to 3 follow ups. I really hope management takes this feedback seriously. In my opinion, the boutique needs better employee training and a much closer look at the condition and selection of the dresses being offered. Broken, torn, heavily worn, and yellowed dresses should not be what a bride encounters when paying for a bridal appointment. I left feeling stressed and disappointed rather than excited about finding my wedding dress, so unfortunately I would recommend going anywhere but here.

I even paid extra to expedite it to ensure everything arrived on time. After months of anticipation, I showed up on dress pick-up day--only to find that the dress was two sizes too big. I hadn't lost any weight, and I later learned that the size ordered was actually the smallest size on the recommended scale for my measurements. It was clear that Gia, the bridal consultant, measured me incorrectly from the beginning. This was incredibly disappointing--especially so close to my big day. I immediately left and took my dress to Wedding Gown Alterations by John, where they had to take in 4 inches at the waist just to make the dress wearable. The total cost of alterations came to $1,200, on top of what had already paid for the gown. This is not the experience or service I expected from a high-end boutique. I'm sharing this review so that other brides don't go through the same emotional stress I did. Double-check your measurements and confirm every detail--don't rely on the boutique's reputation alone.

I came to browse a sample sale (dresses that weren't going to make it to their collection next season are sold for about half the price, sold as is / no alterations) where the entire building was bustling with tons of brides, family, and swishing dresses, but you can book a traditional appointment where one can enjoy a more relaxed and private experience. Their stock of dresses is quite large, as it took a while to just walk around all the rooms with the dresses before pulling them off the rack to look. The sample sale appointment is one hour, and I walked out with my wedding dress at the end of it! For the sample sale, we met with the bridal consultant (Victoria was amazing!) and then I received 5 clothes pins to mark which dresses I was interested while I made a walk through the dress area. She pulled those dresses, brought them to our designated fitting area (there's a sofa for family or friends to sit and watch), and helped me into the dresses. Since the sample sale didn't have my exact size, she used clips to cinch the excess fabric in the back, and that worked well to see what the dress would look like if tailored to my size. You can do as many rounds as you like as time permits. Once I chose the dress, the part that really brought it together for me was putting on a veil :) When checking out, they gave a list of recommended tailors, and luckily some of them are in the loop! The staff here were all very friendly and enthusiastic. Victoria was my amazing bridal consultant; she was friendly, encouraging, patient, and not pushy at all. She was easy to talk to and really made the experience amazing! Ashley was tagging along with Victoria and gave some helpful opinions about dress styles, and the other consultants walking by would cheer. The only thing I would dock a star for would be that I had some questions to ask Victoria after she left to meet her next appointment, and the front desk team told me she would ask Victoria to call me back. I never got a call and had to call twice to ask for her to contact me (by the time she texted me, it was several days later, and I'm pretty sure she forgot who I was / what dress details I had questions about). Overall, a happy place! They even have a metal lock you can personalize and add to their growing collection of successful dress matches + a floral backdrop to take photos. I imagine personalized appointments are a lot slower paced and relaxed. Be sure to bring your strapless bra and skin colored undies to your appointment! I'm glad I chose Whittington Bridal as the first spot to look for dresses-- it was super efficient and a lovely experience :)
