The store is on the second floor of an office building. There are a couple of display cases with some wonderful pieces but this is the kind of place you go when you want something really special custom created just for you. It's clear they are passionate about their craft and are honored to be a part of our special celebrations. They worked within my tight deadline and even stayed late so I could pick it up after work. I'm so pleased with the engraving but even more excited about having someone in the neighborhood I can trust. I picked up one ring and dropped another off... my wedding ring to be resized. So the ring I brought turned out to be fake which isn't the issue at all. The problem is when the owner walked in he acted like I was an inconvenience immediately. He was rude and dismissive the whole time and on the phone and said " I walked in and saw this guy waiting for me and now have to look at this dumb ring I'll call you back later" and yes it turned out to be fake but he didn't need to act like an A Hole during that. read more

About a week ago my boyfriend and I were looking for someone to service a watch in this area that we just moved to. I googled this business and got lost trying to find the building. I called them and the guy who answered the phone was very polite and helpful with getting me to the right building where they were located. I don't remember the names of the two men who worked in the front but they were extremely nice and friendly, the customer service was impeccable. I didn't know until recently that there was a jeweler right here in my West Heights neighborhood whose been here for many years. JVP offers full service--jewelry repairs, custom work, sizing and watch battery replacement for reasonable prices. In addition to getting new watch batteries today, had a metal ring guard placed inside band which made it fit perfectly. Jack offers the plastic ring guards and the more hard-to-come-by metal ones which I prefer and those type seems to last forever. Happy to have found a highly qualified and professional jeweler so close to home. JVP is on the 2nd floor of the office building on corner of W. 18th. St. & Seamist. I am so thrilled that I FINALLY found a jeweler that I can trust, who is reasonable, and understands sentimental value and treats it with care. My engagement ring is from my mother-in-law who passed away a few years ago. It means the world to me, and I still don't have a wedding ring, because I would rather invest in her ring. I took it to two other jewelers in Houston and it was awful. It looked like it was hammered, lopsided and baguette diamonds were beginning to come off. When you walk in, you'll see a glass window that shows their work area. That is how transparent they are. They want you to know that they do their work and have nothing to hide. They don't ship jewelry for someone else to do. I told him how worried I was and how damaged the ring was. He was 100% honest in what needed to be done and understood how much the ring meant to me. I almost cried when I saw the ring, because I haven't seen look that wonderful and in perfect condition than when I first saw it. I am so happy with their character and work that I will only be going here in the future. read more

This man is RUDE. I called him from Dallas to pay on my grandson's account and also to get a price quote for batteries in bulk for hearing aids. He kept hanging up on me in order to take care of a customer .... what did he think I was?? When I finally was able to speak to him and received the price quote, he was 3 times higher than I could buy the batteries at another jeweler or even at the local CVS! When I told him that was too high, he became very rude and said "Lady, I don't care. I'm in the business to make money. Go someplace else." I paid for my grandson's account and was so glad to get off the phone with him. I do not recommend using this jeweler. read more
