I recently placed an online order and much to my surprise, when I got home I had received the wrong item. I had ordered a cheeseburger and was surprised when it had bacon on it, which I told them I can't have (mainly because I have not had this issues here before). I called to see if there was anything to be done, and we talked to Cody. He said that they were going to remake the two burgers. Great. Except when we got there, no one had any idea what we were talking about... so much for communication. Finally Mary the owner came over to tell us that they would not remake the order because it has already been sent out (obviously it was a togo order) and that the only thing I could do is take off the bacon. Funny how they advertise friendly staff and look to bring the best food and customer service. That is definitely not what I have experienced. Not sure I will return. read more

We came here for a friends birthday this past Saturday and it was delicious! This is a cute little bar/restaurant. They have large screens to watch games but it wasn't loud at all. They have a variety of burgers that are single or double patty's. Burgers come with fries which are delicious! My favorite part of the burger was definitely the cheese! There are a variety of beers and apps to order, chicken sandwiches, wings, Philly cheese steak sandwiches, grinders (subs) and more! I will definitely be coming back here! A busy Friday night at the burger bar, we ordered takeout at 7:15, pickup scheduled for 8:35. When I arrived I went in, with a mask on, to pick up my food. There were 4 employees behind the counter/bar, shoulder to shoulder, masks below their noses. My order wasn't ready when I arrived and I waited patiently. it is very disappointing that the folks who work at the burger bar weren't protecting themselves or others. My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch. We've had great food and service during our 4 previous meals there. This visit was a negative experience from the get-go. We sat at the bar, as we always have before. We had to ask someone to take our order. It took over a half hour for our burgers and fries to arrive. Three other parties arrived after we did. They received their food and finished dining before we were served. The beer had a bad taste; a staff person tasted it and said it was awful. The worst thing, though, was the young woman who sat on a chair behind the bar; she also prepared malteds. She continually ran her hands through her long hair, never washed her hands, and took multiple selfies as she fluffed her hair. Regrettably, we will think twice before returning here. read more

We ordered takeout from Burger Bar and were impressed with the drink selection--would definitely recommend their 32oz mason jar margs! Taco salad was wet and made with shredded lettuce (not much of a salad in my book) and chicken philly sandwich was just okay, but the fries were good. I loved going here until new management took over this month. I went here on the 5th and they brought me the wrong drink. They didn't charge me and was apologetic. Then my chicken wings came out. They were so over cooked that they were translucent and the garlic parm sauce was only in the middle of the pile of wings. I could not even eat them. They asked if they were ok when clearing my plate and I said honestly they were really dry and over cooked. She agreed and charged me full price like nothing was wrong. I'm not a fussy girl and I can roll with it but this was way beyond bad. The fact they didn't seem to care that I didn't eat my food and still charged me full price, says a lot. DO NOT GO HERE, IF YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES. The waitress went to ask the cook whether they use butter on the grill and came back telling me EVERYTHING is cooked in butter. She just stood there without any assistance in finding something that I COULD eat. I've never experienced a restaurant that didn't offer to cook a burger without butter. Totally inconsistent. I had ordered take-out on a couple different occasions however this past Wednesday I stopped in for a beer and an order of wings to go. I was told they do not do takeout. I can understand if the restaurant was busy but there were only three tables occupied at the time and nobody sitting at the bar. The staff was sitting around with nothing else to do. When I arrived, two of the kitchen staff were sitting outside smoking. I have never heard of a burger/wing restaurant that does not do takeout and I was disgusted that a new restaurant would turn away business, especially repeat customers. I left and decided I would never return, this place has no respect for its customers. Luckily on the way home I found Wicked Wings in Essex. I explained my experience at Burger Barn to the owner who promptly poured me a free beer and sent me home with a fresh order of wings. They were fantastic, along with the customer service. Okay so Burger Bar the good is amazing I have a very picky S/O. And he thinks the burgers are awesome. He's hard to please so that means a lot coming from him. We happened to stumble in during trivia night, so the place was pretty packed and noisy, yet there was space at the bar. Bartender attentive and friendly. For once, there was a beer special on a beer I wanted to drink (Sam Adams Summer). Other local taps lean towards IPA (what else is new). I ordered the "Beet Burger," which is now actually an "Impossible Burger" - google this if you haven't heard of it. It is a delicious fully vegetarian burger. The bun and fixin's were also good; since this is a Burger Bar, I'd expect no less. My husband had a brisket special; brisket is ALWAYS good, and I liked his potato salad, though it could have used a little zing. They teensy pale piece of cornbread he got was weak. This might have been one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had. The food took a very long time, and when one of the servers approached our table with plates of food, it was the wrong order. We waited for over 50 minutes for 6 wings and two burgers, and unfortunately my order was incorrect when we finally received our food. A handful of tables around us had also commented to the server that their orders came out incorrect. There were only two people who were not only covering the entire restaurant, but were also cleaning tables, making drinks, wrapping silverware, etc. While my poor experience could be due to overwhelmed servers, the food was not good enough for me to give this restaurant another chance. Hopefully our dining experience is uncommon and others enjoy the Burger Bar. read more

I went to the burger bar twice hoping for a better experience, it didn't happen. The first time soon after it opened I expected some growing pains. The service was below average but not unexpected for a new place. The food took a while to get and the burgers were both cooked differently, they were ordered medium. My friend liked the burger (mushroom Swiss) but it was extremely well done, mine (bacon) was rare which is execrable for me, my toppings were to much with plastic tomatoes and to much sauce. The real reason of the one star was the beer was warmer then the fries, very disappointed. Yesterday we returned with a buddy, the burgers were inconstantly cooked, the fries and beer was the same temperature, and the service was terrible. I would like to thing that a place that's tough to get to would try better but no they don't. read more

Great burger and fries!! I was there with my wife and daughter on Saturday. The fries were absolutely perfect; they were hot, not too salty, and the right amount of crunch. The burger was juicy and cooked exactly how I asked for it. I was also struck by how clean it was inside. Sometimes hidden gems like this are a little lazy in the housekeeping department but the floors were clean and the bathroom was spotless. I would go out of my way to eat here again. read more

My husband and I frequent this restaurant every Sunday. We love the food and the waitstaff are great However this last Sunday we went in early to avoid the crowds. We were the Only couple in the restaurant and loud rap music was playing and we asked if they could turn it down a little The owner shouted WE HAVE TO HAVE MUSIC in here. I thought he was extremely rude and disrespectful. Also, on another occasion my husband wanted to bring me home a hamburger when I had a cold. No take out!! Got the Texas burger, bun was soft and burger was excellent, the only thing I had wished was to have the waitress ask how we wanted the burger cooked, medium, medium well or well. Partially my fault for not mentioning it when ordering. Unfortunately the A/C was out when we stopped but the food made it worth it and they were installing a new unit as we ate.
