I've driven by this place a dozen times and never noticed it. We gave it a try last night and they are only having outside dining now Looking at reviews as usual some love it some hate it. We had a good experience. Got a couple of burgers with fries. Food was very good and drinks were excellent. Pina coladas were a bit pricey but worth it because they are served in a large mason jar, and not cheap on the booze ,which is usually the case with these types of drinks. And I was surprised you can keep the mason jar Not that I am an expert on pina coladas , but it was the best I have ever had. Not made out of machine. Definitely will return read more

Took our family of five there for an early dinner. The service was great (quick, responsive, friendly), the place was clean and nice. They got busier over the course of the evening - i expect that this place will regularly have folks waiting for tables. The food was great. Tonight was the first time I've ordered from burger bar since new management took over. I think they switched out some food for cheaper versions because the chicken tenders and fries were AWFUL! I was so hungry, but couldn't eat even half my meal. read more

Service is nothing special and the food is nothing special. I was excited for the bacon/cheese fries. The cheese sauce has a store bought flavor you get tired of real quick. Also got the nachos which had the same cheese sauce. Added chicken to the nachos which was a very small portion for $4. No kids menu and kids drink was 2.50. The burger honestly didn't have any flavor as far as a seasoning or anything. We left and decided we wouldn't go back. Also the music was to loud since we were the only people there. The experience at the Burger Bar was delightful. We had a few mix-ups with our order but our waitress Phoebe was absolutely lovely and accommodating! There was a new chef- I asked for my burger to be medium rare and I ended up getting somewhat raw but it was quickly replaced to my liking (free of charge and immediate) and tasted wonderful (Buffalo Bleu burger). Fries and fried pickles were great! Thank you again Phoebe for the great service especially during these hard times! We will definitely return! read more

I was told about Burger Bar from a peer of mine so myself and 2 others decided to go try it out. The restaurant itself is pretty nice with the sports bar atmosphere and it seemed friendly. We sat and our waitress took a little bit to come over to greet us, but she was the only one with 5 tables, so it was understandable. She took our drink order and walked away. When we were ready to order our food we waited for her to come back over and it took at least 15 minutes before she did so. She was rude to my buddy who had a question about substituting a side for fries because he can't say potatoes. She also never asked how we wanted our burgers cooked which is kind of important for a burger place. When we actually got our food ( 30+ mins later) the burgers were dry and over cooked. Neither of mine or one of my friends burger had any toppings we asked for on top of the dryness. My burger was drenched in hot sauce and had very little flavor. The thing that killed me the most was seeing her standing at a table with what seemed like a couple friends eating in the dining room in plain sight. You just don't do that. I know this is a new spot, but I left feeling unsatisfied. The meat is spot on, they know their meat, the family has been doing it for years, and the cuts are good, and high quality. However the preparation was sub par. We started with two appetizers, wings and nachos. The nacho cheese was canned cheese, huge shortcut, but the toppings were good. The wings were a huge let down. Once again, great size, good meat, but terrible prep. A buffalo wing should never be just tossed in tabasco and served. Wings should always be served with homemade dressing, never wholesale dressing from a tub. The main dishes came. Condiments on the table not filled, ok. Not one dish was seasoned. Bland Philly cheesesteak and fries. But this is a burger bar. High quality meat yet they only cook burgers to medium and higher. Blasphemy. And the blue burger has actual blue cheese crumbles on it? But I just Cain's blue cheese dressing with a wing...I know these guys will do better in the future. And of course I'll give it a shot again. Just hope it's better. Service was amazing. I should add that. The front of house was great and the bar was quick to fill up your beer or drink. read more

The meat was precooked & was not very thick. Server gave it away when he said all burgers are cooked medium well. Meat was actually well done. Fries had been cooked for a while, a little limp & not crispy. My friend ordered the cheddar bacon fries but the cheddar was that fake ballpark nacho cheese. Server was a nice guy but kept calling me & my friend "girls" which we clearly are not. I recommend if you want a good burger in same area go to McKees in Winooski. read more

Burgers are SO GOOD. The entire menu is really affordable, great place to hang out, kind of small spot but the atmosphere is great

We have been twice and both times the food was delicious !! I work across the street and myself along with my coworkers would love to order salads and burgers for lunch but cannot. I think this is going to be detrimental to your business and people will soon give up and not order in the future. I have never heard of a restaurant that doesn't do Takeout. (I get it you have a small kitchen but figure it out) I would have probably been ordering once a week for my family but also can't bring it home for dinner... 4 stars for the food -1 for slow service and 0 stars for takeout issue. read more

If you have time to sit down for a meal at this place its great. The reason for the 2 star rating is mainly because they will not do to go orders! Which means if you work in Colchester like I do, don't expect to call in a to go order! Burger bar posted on facebook in early March they couldn't handle the volume due to overwhelming support and that they would eventually go back to doing to go orders. It's been over a month- if you can't candle the volume maybe up your staff members? There are so many local workers wanting their amazing burgers but we don't have time to walk in order and wait/eat there (especially on my last visited we waited 40 minutes for two burgers with fries. I have eaten there twice, both times burgers were cooked to my specs. They did manage to burn the onion rings :( The French fries however were a heaping pile of awesomeness. I highly recommend a blue cheese burger with bacon. read more

We stopped for lunch on a Saturday. Nice atmosphere, burgers were quite good, fries were perfect and plentiful. Staff was friendly and helpful. Impossible for 2 staff to seat guests, take and serve orders, and buss, clean, reset in a space that seats 40. Need to add at least 2 more, and perhaps another in the kitchen. Will give it a few weeks and go back. They just need to work the kinks out. read more

This is my second visit. My husband likes the burgers and I like the fries. My first visit I got the all American burger and something tasted off to me. Like something was starting to spoil. I just figured it was the house sauce I didn't like, so this time I ordered the sauce on the side. Same weird taste, almost fishy, came through. Plus the burger was far from juicy. I was never asked how I liked it and it was very well done which makes for a disappointing burger. I opened it up and it had a grainy past it's due tomato on it, lettuce, and some not very dill pickles. I tried everything individually to try to find where the weird taste was coming from. It was the meat itself. I can't figure out if it is a seasoning being put in the meat or it is picking up off flavors from a multi use grill. I won't be ordering a burger again. Far from the best in town if you like anything apart from well done. The house sauce is ok. The fries are amazing. I will give it a third try just for the fries and what looks like amazing shakes. Just doesn't live up to the name. read more

AVOID!!! Stopped in for a burger today - We were told 45 min for food even though 25% of the seats were open. Figured they were just being conservative so we agreed to the wait. As we waited the server/hostess started telling every new customer the wait was now an hour and a half for food. Hard to understand with half the tables now empty - about 20 new customers were turned off by the long wait and decided to eat somewhere else. One table became so upset waiting they walked into the kitchen to tell the owner how badly he was doing, making a scene, and then walked out. Our wait turned out to be a little over an hour for our burgers that were well done and an appetizer that was still frozen in the middle. We were never asked how we would like our burgers cooked (rare/med/well) - strange for a burger restaurant. Turns out they were too busy cooking take-out orders to feed the customers eating at the restaurant. Even the take out orders were running almost an hour late. Staff was very apologetic saying they were short staffed but the issue was the kitchen not being able to supply food at a reasonable pace. Maybe worth another try if they can find someone for the kitchen that can handle serving 15 customers in their restaurant at one time. Need to fix the problem soon or this business will be short lived. read more
