In downtown Burlington, amongst other shops and restaurants. We're seated pretty quickly. Waitress was a little slow to come around and check in on us but was very nice when we did see her. Have a decent selection of beers that are also local. Burger was good but lacked flavor. Our other food was good! It was a Saturday night so it was pretty busy but they were able to handle people coming and going.

Man. I wanted to like this place but the food was so bland. I came here with a group of six, and all six of us felt like everything was flavorless. I enjoyed my smoked Porter but the food just wasn't good.

A nice spot to sit with friends and a beer. They do not have wifi and I did not spot any power outlets, which makes this a spot not to sit with your laptop. I still did so, enjoying my beer and my 5G hotspot until the beer was gone. A little dark, a little friendly, a nice little spot in the core of downtown Burlington. I stopped in here for a bite and pint from out of town; I enjoyed the selection of local craft beers on tap and especially the Fancy Pants Maple Ale, just enough maple but not too much! The cheese plate and chicken tenders were very good and hit the spot. Our waiter was also friendly and attentive, would return.

Cozy spot, sitting at the bar on a Sunday night felt like a Time Machine to the 90s and super laid back. A small old tv visible with the game on. Given I'm not a beer lover I can't speak to the brew but our bar food/snacks (poutine) were tasty and affordable

Got to say the beers are better than the food at this local favorite brewery in Burlington. It isn't that much of a surprise, because they should be able to make good ones. Vermont Pub & Brewery is the oldest of the many in town. Been around for quite awhile. This means they have many beers to choose from, and might as well get food as well. As the outside of the building proudly says, it's the oldest local brewery. It's been around since the 1980s, long before the craft brewery craze. This means they've had plenty of time to develop a variety. A ton on tap to get. Of course this is why we came for sure. It's about $7 a pint. That's about typical. Best one we had was the Forbidden Fruit. This is made with raspberries, but it's still not overly fruity though. Food menu is more limited. It's about $5 for the Mixed Green Salad. Basic. There's not a lot to get on the food menu that isn't meaty. Have to try it if you want to get some of the best local beers. It's got a ton to choose from. The food isn't as good, pretty basic, with the typical pub kind of stuff.

We were seated right away on a Sunday midday and our waiter was very chipper. Glad this place was open as some other restaurants on church street were closing for the afternoon break or maybe for the day. The service was fast, the food came out quickly and there was enough on the menu to please most anyone. It is pub style food. They also have a wide array of sandwiches. I had to try the French dip burger. I loved the caramelized onions on the burger and they cooked the meat medium well like I asked. The potato salad was lacking so I'd opt for fries instead next time. Approachable place with lots of options. Great for groups and a reasonable meal

Went in there on Sunday evening, and quickly seated as place was quiet inside. Started with poutine as an appetizer - serving size even as an appetizer was small for price. For entrees we had a salad, added steak, and a French dip burger. Let's just say, I apologized to my wife as this was my choice for dinner. The staff were helpful and friendly, - interesting addition to the bill for "kitchen appreciation". Would maybe stop back in for a beer but not for food.

This restaurant blew my expectations out of the water! Before we get into the meal specifics, I want to highlight the location. The restaurant was conveniently located in downtown Burlington just a short walk from the lake. For an appetizer, we ordered chips and salsa and it was delicious. My meal consisted of chicken thighs, sweet potato fries, and coleslaw. Wow was it delicious! My mother ordered the wings and fries, which was delicious as well. Some of the best sweet potato fries I've ever had. Highly recommend.

Worst Sheppards pie I ever had. Would have been a lot better without the jalapeño peppers and extra pepper ... dry mashed potatoes- was more like a chili with dry mashed on-top. Over seasoned w/ pepper and the tomato paste base for the beef was awful. soda from the tap was sour ... or bad. I would not recommend this place at all. Waiter never came back to see how the food With all the other places around here I'd recommend going somewhere else

Service was great. The fish and chips stood out to both my mom and I so we got the same thing. The tartar sauce was great and good thing because that's where the fish got most of its flavoring. It was a huge piece of fish though and the fries were good. This would be a good spot to get a beer and eat at the bar or come with friends or family for dinner.

The restaurant was built around a 1921 Hacker Craft wooden boat, beautifully restored by friends of mine at Morgan Marine in Silver Bay, NY. The boat used to house an actual salad bar, pre-Covid. Now it's just a beautifully appointed mahogany boat in a big room just past the hostess station. The rest of F&I is a series of small and large rooms, some very intimate. There are artifacts everywhere (that you need to explore). Recently visited w best friend, Locomotive Breath (formerly known as Zagbolt). Sat at the bar. Seemingly lots of locals. Very capably waited on by bartender Andre. He was effective, efficient, and gregarious. Perfect young man for the job. We split a dozen wings (one of the specials which were smothered in an orange, peppery glaze). Delicious! I also had a cheeseburger w bacon. Perfectly broiled on a substantial bun. And onion rings. Plentiful. LB had a mesquite chicken panini w mashed. He loved it. Large selection of tapped and bottled beer, wine, alcohol of all kinds. One thing that kind of caught my attention was another patron's prime rib. Very fatty, on the thin side, $39. Did not think it was a good presentation or value. F&I is still one of the best restaurants around. Museum-like, and good food. Curtailed hours compared to years past, and looking for help (of all kinds). 4 stars

I was a little hesitant coming here because great food is just as important to me as great drinks,…read moreand the menu was very limited. The menu listed only two mains: a "Charred Oat Burger" and a "Short Rib Toastie" in addition to two salads and four "shareables". I believe there were one or two specials that day as well, one being Steak Frites. But the food reviews were good and the drink reviews were great so I decided to go. Even if I had second thoughts the welcome from Bob the bartender when I entered (first customer when I arrived at 5:00 opening time) seemed so sincere that not staying was out of the question. I took my seat at the bar (supposedly rebuilt with materials from a bar in Ireland that closed). Bob was great, with an enthusiasm for great whiskey that he couldn't hide if he tried, and didn't seem to mind that I'm not enough of a connoisseur to have many opinions of my own. Between other customers that soon filled the place he kept me talking and I'm not much of a talker. About whiskey, where I'm from, Burlington in general, and he gave me some tips on some lesser-known Vermont attractions I didn't know about. Their whiskey collection was large and from many lands. Having just returned from Ireland I was pleased to see several I remember from my visit - not just the usual Jamesons here! I prefer a cocktail to straight whiskey though, so it was Sazeracs tonight. Two specialties. First the Rosemary's Sazerac: Bulleit Rye, rosemary syrup, Peychauds bitters, rinse of Laphroaig, torched rosemary sprig. My second was also a Sazerac: their Irish Sazerac, made with an Irish whiskey and other ingredients which I've forgotten. Both drinks were fantastic, generous with the alcohol, and made with attention to details like properly-sized ice cubes (large) and pre-chilled glasses. For food I got the "Charred Oak Burger." I don't know where the "oak" comes in. The only burger on the menu, it was made with two thin patties, a great quantity of whiskey & honey-glazed pork belly in large pieces, kimchi mayo, and a brioche bun. One of the most interesting burgers I've had in a long time. Even though it was a bit overstuffed more due to the pork belly than the patties I managed to eat it without it falling apart, a common problem with burgers. Instead of the fries it came with I elected to get the roasted Brussels sprouts instead, a special shareable of the day. I don't think I was charged extra even though it was a rather large portion. These were excellent too, sweet and bacony with no bitterness. As it got busier the noise level increased but only moderately. I liked the music playing, a mix of blues and energetic classic rock. Overhearing other conversations I could tell that these were discerning customers who took their whiskey seriously and asked detailed questions before settling on their choice of libation. Just two things on the dessert menu: Chocolate Overload and Caramel Sea Salt Cheesecake. I got the Overload: chocolate cake with Bailey's Irish Cream sauce. Nothing special but I enjoyed it; a nice way to finish the meal. It was big enough that I took about half home, along with half the Brussels sprouts. This is definitely a place I want to come back to. I wish the food menu was more extensive but that burger and sprouts were so good I could see repeating the same menu again, trying new specialty cocktails next time.
