Now that was a mighty tasty burger. I found myself camping in Athens with friends. While I love the great outdoors, I was craving something other than hot dogs and chips, so got to exploring the area. I found The Burger Barn and figured I'd give it a try. We drove past this place 3 times since we thought it was a sit down restaurant. It's not, it's a walk up burger shack in front of a convenience store. We arrived at 1:50PM and he was closing at 2PM, so he wasn't super happy that we had such a big order. We ordered our food and waited at one of the benches outside with our kids. Finally the burgers and tots were done... I'll say it again. That was a mighty tasty burger. You can tell when the food is good because it gets quiet. Not one person was saying a word except for an occasional wow. The burger was cooked to perfection, it was tender and had all of the fixins. The burger is so big it takes an effort to take a solid bite. I was up for the challenge. I don't find myself in Athens often, but if and when I'm back, I will for sure come to this place again. The food here is absolutely wonderful.

The Burger Barn sits next to the general store but they're not associated the General Store will let you go in and eat your burger in there I'm eating mine in the car.. it's your basic Old Fashioned Burger cooked well done served with piping hot fries. It's what a Texas Soldier would dream about in some foreign desert. It tastes good and it's good for the soul made by a Christian businessman who does nothing but Farm build burgers between 11 and 2 everyday but Sunday.

    Says it all.

The chili burger and onion rings were delicious. We will definitely stop again when we are in the area.

I ordered my usual char-broiled double cheeseburger, fries, and onion rings, which never disappoints. I also decided to try the char-grilled Maxwell street Polish sausage with sport peppers and cheese sauce. Unfortunately, the Polish sausage was underwhelming, and the cheese sauce tasted like canned cheese from a dollar store. Both are items I wouldn't order again in the future. The customer service continues to be top-notch, and ordering through the kiosk was fast and easy.

I really enjoyed the beef sandwich and I always get it baptize. I like to order extra dipping sauce with it so I can just drown it haha. My favorite are the hot dogs, which is what they are know for. I love the chicago style dogs and I love adding ketchup and mustard to my hot dogs. For the side I really enjoy getting a side of cheese and dipping my fries into it, thank me later. The onion rings are also worth a mention, they are well made, crispy and full of flavor. I also had their shakes before and they were pretty good. I once had their chocolate cake and it was very rich in flavor and not dry at all like other cakes. I always eat in the diner because I love how they have decorated the space. It reflects the history of the city of Arlington. It is a mix of car decor honoring the GM plant and part of the decor is also bowling, to honor the national bowling museum and headquarters located in arlington. I love how its so big and spacious. They also sell beer but I never purchase any but thats a cool concept. The staff keeps the place nice and clean, i love how they say your order number and make it rhyme with something. Example 'order #9 is time to dine"

Because of that, I think it's only fair to highlight how much things have improved since then. I'm happy to report that my recent visit was significantly better, and nearly every criticism I had back then has been addressed. The food was outstanding. I ordered the Das Brat, loaded with bratwurst, caramelized onions, sauerkraut, spicy brown mustard, and garlic aioli. My family ordered the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich, the Santa Fe chicken sandwich, and the Ringer burger. Every single meal was excellent. The flavors were bold, the ingredients tasted fresh, and everything was prepared perfectly. A special mention goes to the Pretzel Bites. They were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and paired perfectly with the rich cheese sauce and mustard aioli. They made a great starter and disappeared quickly from the table. The service was also excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, and did a great job despite clearly wearing multiple hats throughout the restaurant. I definitely appreciated the effort. And for beer lovers, Dog Haus offers beer in 1-liter pours. Naturally, I had to take advantage of that. Overall, the food was delicious, the service was awesome, and the entire experience was a dramatic improvement from my first visit years ago. I'm genuinely pleased to see how much Dog Haus Biergarten has improved and am happy to update my review accordingly.
