My hubby and I eat here occasionally and really like the food. The building is clean and neat and the service is great!

Everything there is all wrong not sure how they even keep that hole in the wall place open especially with their rude attitude employees. They over charge since when does a hotdog with mustard relish onion cost 15 dollars no fries no soda just an overcooked dried out nasty dog cost by it's own self worth that. GPS was a little confusing and actually took me into the shopping mall just before Burger Den. Once I pulled back out and located the actual business, from the outside appearance I wasn't sure how the experience was going to end up. The outside actually looked like the place was closed and was old and run down and there were NO customers in line or in the parking lot. With a bit of trepidation, I decided to persevere. Once I got to the speaker at the drive through I was greeted by a friendly and helpful voice. I decided on a regular cheese burger with light mustard and mayo, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and extra pickles... An order of onion rings and a large pineapple and banana shake. I was not disappointed.... On the way home I enjoyed my shake - Not the best I have ever had, but surely not the worst either. Once I got my to-go order back home I unpacked my dinner and started with an onion ring. They were fried to perfection but could use just a tad bit more seasoning in the breading. The burger was just as I ordered and was juicy and delicious. I really enjoyed it! I live in the country, so Burger Den is almost a 1/2 hour drive from my place, but I will definitely visit them in the future. My expedition was pleasant, with great service, good food and support of a local business. read more

The breakfast is the best. Don't really go very much for lunch or dinner so don't have an opinion on that. Service friendly. Usually a long line and some mornings can be slow but it's ok it's expected. Been eating here since i was a little girl w my mom and dad. WOW! First we drove up around 4:50 and finally at 4:58 with 3 cars in front of us we placed our order. Easy order: Pork BBQ with onion rings. 5:08 we paid for our food $7.16. Becca couldn't be bothered to smile when barking out our order to make sure she had the right car. When I smiled back, Becca still couldn't be bothered to be polite or friendly. But wait... it gets worse! When Becca finally after taking several sips of her drink and talking to the kitchen decided to see how many cars were in the drive through at 5:22. When she did I let her know I was unhappy about waiting for a single pork plate in a drive through window for over 20 minutes. Did Becca, reasure me they were working hard, or that maybe they were short staffed? Was she kind or friendly? NOPE she yelled at me, yes, yelled at me the customer. She informed me, "I was not the only customer." I then told her that I don't expect when I have waited from the time I placed the order to this point to be yelled at or have someone being rude to me. She then told me if I didn't like it to call her manager, Holly in the morning. I told her I would be leaving this review. I was told, "To do what I had to do, she didn't care." It is clear Becca is unhappy with her job. It is clear she doesn't care and I have to think if Burger Den cared about their customers it would start with retraining Becca in customer service or showing her you do care more about your customers. But no matter... I won't be back I would rather go to McDonald's of Varnell where they were polite to me when I had to go buy there after getting my money back from Burger Den. Could not wait until I got a chance to stop in. I drive by them every day heading to Florida in my semi. Folks inside were friendly and helpful. They recommended the chuckwagon (breaded beef patty) plate, I opted for the sandwich instead, onion rings instead of fries (great onion rings!) and Cole slaw. Came with lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. Lots of food for just over $7.00. I can't wait to return! read more

I have to go to the Bank of Dalton and notices this place on the side of the road. I stopped that one time and was hooked. I love their burgers and drive all the way from Rock Spring on my day off to get two. They are always made correctly and VERY yummy (must be for an hour drive one way) It takes some time and you have to wait.l It is always hot and, obviously for me, it is worth the drive. read more

After 21 years of dealing with this restaurant's lack luster food quality in addition to their poor customer service, we are done giving our money to this business. Today, myself and many other customers waited 40+ minutes in the drive-thru hoping to get breakfast (this is the only thing worth eating here) only to be denied once finally getting to order at 10:50am. The employee claimed they were out of biscuits. Mind you, from the time I pulled in at 10:05, I would estimate 7 cars were served ahead of me and perhaps 7 cars (that's being generous) pulled in to go inside. So, knowing that you have a line of more than 10 cars in your drive thru at 10:05 and you do not stop serving breakfast until 10:45, why were you not prepared to serve those whom you made wait for upwards of 40 minutes?? Why is this how you do business? There's not much else in the area, and many locals have been dining here for years. This means that Burger Den COULD be extraordinarily successful, if they actually cared about their customers and serving their customers good food. Instead, it's overpriced cafeteria food that you have to wait 30 minutes or more for, only to then be served by a rude employee who clearly hates their job and have half of your order missing or wrong. Stopped for a burger about a year ago or so. Try twenty minutes in the drive through waiting on special order burgers, that came out eventually made all the way. And the cost struck me as horrendous for two meal deals. This place used to be one of the absolute best local restaurants to get great food and interact with great people. I've came here for the last 29 years and it is NOT the same as it once was. It has gone down in both value and service. My last three visits were absolutely horrible! Waited 30 minutes to get two sandwiches, fries, and drink. One visit they forgot to submit my order entirely. Teenagers running the register and grill is a big mistake since all they seemed to want to do was talk instead of work. What happened to the service before they changed owners? I used to be able to walk in and have my order done within 5 minutes and be on my way. Now, I can count on being there for no less than 30 minutes while my order sits on the counter and gets cold. I won't be back at all. read more

I've been coming to the Burger Den in Varnell since I was a kid, but the service here lately has me constantly considering never coming here again. The last several times we've come through the drive through, our orders have come out completely wrong. Today, for instance, we waited 40 minutes in the drive through for 3 big breakfasts with bacon and sausage, which is supposed to come with 2 biscuits, gravy, two scrambled eggs, and the meat. When we got our food, it was just bacon, gravy, and biscuits in all of them. When we went in to have it fixed, we were informed that they don't check the orders before sending them out and the manager asked what she was supposed to do about it. After they fixed the order, we left. Over an hour after placing our order. I don't understand what's happened to this place. It used to be the place to go in town for a great meal. Now we're stuck waiting an hour for subpar food. Hopefully they can get it together soon. read more

I've been here 4-5 time over the past couple of years. Always had a good experience. The food is made on the spot and tasty. Nothing fancy and virtually everything after breakfast comes between bread or buns. The place is not a five star restaurant but worth the stop if you're hungry. The biscuits are good. Usually eat breakfast here most mornings. Food is good, though they get a bit busy. It's a small place. Have never had an issue here they didnt fix immediately, and within the last year of eating breakfast and the occasional dinner here, cant say I've had a bad meal. The girls are nice, but things get a bit hectic when they are busy. But my personal opinion is good food is worth waiting for. The reviews that say the staff are unfriendly is completely untrue. We waited in the drive through for nearly 30 minutes, while the staff did nothing for most of the time. Once we finally received our order, we find that our order was entirely wrong. Not only was it incorrect, but, just by looking at it, it was easy to see that it was illy prepared. The staff even started off to us when we asked for it fixed. My family and I came here for lunch one afternoon. We pulled up to the drive thru with 2 cars ahead of us but we were sitting at the speaker. It took about 10 mins before someone came over the speaker to take our order & when we gave our order then we were then left to sit there for over 20 mins. Obviously frustrated, we pulled up to a parking spot where I went in to see what the hold up was. Come to find out, they hadn't taken our order down at all so I had to place our order AGAIN, now inside. I was told by the on duty manager that they had just went through a shift change and that my order would be ready shortly. As I am waiting inside for our food, I hear this "manager" proceed to complain loudly about the previous staff, gossip to the other employees that were there, & yell at other employees about nonsense that should have been a private matter. After waiting another 15 mins, my husband (who had been waiting in our vehicle with two small children) came in to ask me that I cancel the order because this was getting to be ridiculous and there was no reason it should be taking this long. As I am standing at the counter with the cashier processing my refund, the "manager" YELLS from the kitchen, "hey what's his tag number, I wanna call him in, I suspect a drunk driver." As I look up and say excuse me? She says, "oh I'm just kidding." No, ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? What kind of people do you have running this restaurant??!!! This is pure ignorance and I have never felt so disrespected by anyone. How dare you even make a "joke" about my husband because you are unhappy that we canceled an order. After that comment she continued on mumbling things under her breath such as. "Well just give that extra food to someone else, obviously they don't need it." Sorry, but if you all hadn't taken over 45 mins to get our food, we would not have asked for a refund. And what a POOR way for your so called manager to handle this situation. Yet again, I have never felt such disregard and disrespect from someone who is supposed to be in charge and setting an example for everyone else working there. Spent a lot of my childhood in this restaurant with my dad. Great down-home southern cooking. You will always see the friendliest people of the Varnell/Cohutta area eating here.
