This is a Southern breakfast at its finest. You order at counter than server brings your meal. They also check on you to make sure all is Ok. The atmosphere is super friendly it reminded me of our kitchen and dining area at home when I was a kid. Food was wonderful and staff extra friendly. Biscuits were so moist they practically fell apart. The sausage gravy was great too. I went this past week and ordered a senior meal plus 2 orders of eggs from the drive thru and when told the price it was more than double what the menu showed. I politely asked what the discrepancy was and she said the prices went up twice since the menu was made and I said then it should be updated or at minimum you should tell people upon ordering. I ordered a breakfast platter with bacon. Now, bacon is a common, standard breakfast item, and it is also listed as one of their lunch items for a BLT. Breakfast served until closing. I was told it would be a 10 minute wait. Okay that is fine. It was longer than 15 minutes but still that was okay. Coffee was very weak. Tasted like water. Eggs tasted like they were cooked in the same pan as some onions. Biscuits were quite large but a bit heavy, condensed not light and fluffy. The person who brought out our order was not customer service oriented. I asked if plastic utensils were in the bag and she said,"should be." I said I would need utensils as I was not eating it at home. Never apologized for the excessive wait. No utensils were in the bag. If you were packing up a drive through to go order wouldn't you check to make sure utensils were enclosed? I am surprised at the reviews of this place really. I will not be back. The meal went in the trash. McDonalds, IHOP, Cracker Barrel, all are better than this place. Waffle House is better. The person I was with agreed. read more

A great example of a mom and pop southern breakfast place. Inside is small with seating only for about 20. They have gospel karoke some Saturday mornings in the back seating area, but it's not very loud. You can sit close to hear or further away without being overwhelmed. It has a very welcoming feel and you know they care about you and the food they serve. The breakfast platter has 2 eggs, one sausage patty, biscuit and gravy, and tots. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the biscuit was baked just right, and the gravy is nicely peppery. The sausage is fine and the tots are nothing special. I've also had grits instead of gravy which were also good. It's a hard choice to make. The bacon egg and cheese biscuits are very filling. I can barely get two down but sometimes I order two anyway because they are so good. They also have a strawberry biscuit special in the spring. The strawberries are lightly sweetened and layered over the biscuit. This is what to order if you love fresh strawberries. I also tried their chocolate gravy biscuit. My dining partner thought she detected undissolved cocoa powder, but I thought it was just intense chocolate flavor. It's a great dessert. Speaking of dessert, their fried pies are to die for. I especially like the blackberry, but you can usually get apple or peach also. It can get crowded and the parking lot is small. The drive up backs up onto the road with more than 4 cars in line. This is an anti masking establishment and haven't protected a soul in 18 months. No masking even during the worst times. This is the best place in town to get a biscuit but that really isn't saying much. It's about the only biscuit place in town. The biscuit is the best part of the menu. The items on the biscuits not so good, the gravy is BLAND, the eggs are probably not coming out of an egg shell, most likely a carton and won't stay on a biscuit. I decided to give this place another chance after a horrible experience with the rude lady taking orders. Ordered a breakfast platter and sat down to wait. After about 15 minutes another customer informed me they gave another customer my order. Ok. Mistakes do happen. Yet there was no apology offered ,no what can we do to make it right,etc. The rude order taker acted like it was my fault. Honestly this shrew must be a family member because she has the table side manner of a rabid dog. I eventually received my meal but felt rushed because it was after 12 by this point and they close that early on Saturday. I thought after 2 years of not going here that perhaps things had changed for the better. Nope. If anything it's changed for the worse. You know common courtesy doesn't cost anything but the lack of it will definitely run off customers including me. The Biscuit Barn is the only place I know of that has a ribeye biscuit on the menu and it's my favorite. My boyfriend usually gets double meat since they are very thinly sliced, yet large enough to cover the biscuit. The steak is seasoned and not dry. The biscuits themselves are homemade and rather large. Although more costly than other items on the menu, the ribeye biscuit is priced appropriately. I also appreciate the complimentary condiments such as the jams and butter. The coffee is weak, so I only suggest it if you prefer light, but the gas station right across the street has the hook-up in the dark coffee department, if required. The Gator Grits need some help, but when I take them home, they go into a mixing bowl where I re-heat and add milk to make them more creamy. Salt and pepper to taste and they are good- to-go. The inside dining area is small, but there's usually room to dine-in. There are outside tables as well. I've only ever ordered on Saturday mornings, and there is always a gospel band performing outside. I call orders in ahead of time to avoid the wait on Saturday mornings because there is usually a line, but the staff manages organization well and my order has never been wrong. Truth in Advertising: The Big Biscuit Barn does indeed deliver the big biscuit. 5. Staff were friendly and helpful. Now the less good things: 1. The sausage gravy was served tepid. We each ordered the sausage gravy biscuit and both orders were tepid. Which was sad, because it detracted from the otherwise enjoyable flavor. 2. While the biscuit was big, it was also room temperature. In all we had three biscuits in our order. All were room temperature. Including their fillings. 3. Flies. I had to shoo a couple off as we were eating. 4. The sausage & egg biscuit. The sausage was thinner than at any other fast food joint that I can think of except perhaps McDonalds. The egg suffers by comparison to every other fast food joint in that at other places, the egg is a cohesive whole which makes eating the biscuit sandwich easier. This egg was a thousand little pieces which were falling out the biscuit such that I had to keep my sandwich wrapped in its wax paper and that didn't help much. Finally the flavor was only marginally above instant scrambled eggs like you'd expect at a moderately priced hotel buffet. In all, it was a less than thrilling experience. read more

Had breakfast at the Big Biscuit Barn and it was just ok. First off my wife and I ordered two biscuits and gravy and a side of bacon. The bacon was good but the biscuits although they were big they were flavorless and the gravy was bland, they did however get our drinks wrong. Full disclaimer, I'm not Southerner and I don't like biscuits or Southern food. My hubby does and he didn't find the his breakfast of biscuits and gravy that memorable they didn't even have hash browns, tater tots were served instead.
