We sat indoors at one of the high-top tables across from the bar, and the atmosphere was very open and welcoming. They also have a really nice outdoor patio that looked like a great summer spot. We started with the pickle chips appetizer, which was a great way to kick off the meal. My husband sampled a couple of their beers, including the Sunny & 60 hazy IPA and the Blood Brothers blood orange beer, both of which he really enjoyed. For dinner, I ordered the 12-inch Italian hoagie, which was huge and came with house-made chips and a delicious French onion dip. My husband chose the Black-n-Blue Burger with truffle fries, and my older son ordered the bacon double cheeseburger with regular fries. My youngest son went with the pan-seared salmon dinner, served with green bean casserole and risotto. Our server, Anthony, asked if he'd like a Caesar salad before his meal arrived, and we're glad he did because it was outstanding! The food was excellent across the board, the portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh and homemade. What really made the experience stand out, though, was our server Anthony. Since it was our first visit, he was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions, offered recommendations, and made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. Hop Brothers Brewing Company exceeded our expectations, and it's easy to see why people keep coming back. Great food, great beer, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. It was located nearby to my location and it reminded me of an ice cream parlor I used to frequent years ago. What I found was not the ice cream parlor that I once knew, but apparently a regional drive-in with the same name (spelled differently) Swensens (not the one I visited tonight) which is spelled Swensons. Today was a debut day for a new sandwich, which was a quarter pounder, pepperoni, mozzarella cheeseburger, complete with marinara sauce. I added a side of the mozzarella triangles (another debit today) with marinara sauce, and the Ohio, which is a specialized Gingerale soda flavored with cherry syrup. The service was outstanding, which included carhops who were running from vehicle to vehicle to ensure fast and prompt service (safely). There is no inside seating and customers can choose to eat in the vehicle complete with a tray provided or simply take the food home as a takeout option. Several desserts featuring ice cream and flavored sodas are available in addition to a strawberry shortcake and a fried cheesecake. The restaurant was well lit, with period decor for a drive-in and boosted service for over 80 years featuring their famous version of a burger. The food was served, hot and fresh with my flavored soda and I really enjoyed the experience. I may well be back soon!
