The fries were fresh but bland (unsalted) the burgers looked nice and thick though slightly small im diameter, veggies were fresh but the onions still had tough skin on them and were very hard to bite through. The bacon was clearly old cause it was dark im color and stiff. My biggest complaint is the double bacon burgers bun was pulled off the burger and crushed into the wrapper with most of the sauce going with it so it was a soggy mess.. Burger Haven is a spot tucked away in Chesapeake. I went in thinking it might be the East Coast version of In-N-Out... and it's definitely not that lol Now, let's talk food. The burgers were juicy, hot, and full of flavor. The bacon, especially, was on point. The fries were hot, crunchy. The milkshakes, though... listen, they taste amazing but they are Rich. If your stomach isn't built for a lot of milk, be warned. Overall, Burger Haven has good food and great vibes, but it's probably not going to be one of my regular go-tos. I used to go to this place a LONG time ago for a period of about 4-5 months. Every Saturday. Prices were reasonable, food was good, and staff were mostly nice. Felt like I fit in as a regular right away. I liked the old box TV's in the corner and the sound of the grill. I'm not even one for hotdogs, not a fan to be honest. However, I decided to try the namesake and was surprised by how good it was. I was even convinced to get another one on my first visit. I tried multiple things each week, and was pleased with all of it. Then one day, I was surprised in another way. They had hidden a loose body part under my burger. It was so disappointing. I walked out and once I was behind the building, I gave it the old "Ehh!" gesture by brushing my hand in the direction of the place. That signaled the end of my quarter-year patronage. A few months later, I was at a different eating establishment on the other side of town. And one of the employees from Lulu's walked in and said: "So you're not getting hotdogs tonight, huh?" I was dumbfounded. I couldn't believe it. First off, they were closed at the time, and secondly, I don't appreciate scraggly surprises in my food. (Now to be fair, the place I was in that night ALSO gave me a fuzzy memory to last a lifetime, but that's beside the point.) So if you decide to go here, make it a regular haunt, then suddenly stop going for three months, they'll stalk you and mock your new culinary preferences. Or maybe it was just me they did that to. Regardless, I haven't been back and it's been over ten years. There were two lovely Latinas working the restaurant that day and even though I was there slightly before lunch, they agreed to allow me to order off of the lunch menu.
