This is one of my favorite place to visit every time I'm in the Chesapeake area visiting my family. I was on one day trying to find something to eat and I stumbled across this great place here you go in the ambience is great. They have a lot of different signs on the wall with many different quotes, which is the icing on the cake you go and sit down read a couple quotes get a couple laughs and get served with great food I live in New Jersey but when I tell you, this place is worth a drive it's worth every penny of it. The food is top-tier definitely made with love and you can taste it in every bite I had the Ruben, which taste exactly like a Reuben that you would get out of the city from Carnegie. They definitely have that true authentic taste to it. We tried the foot-long all the way as well as the kielbasa and hot sausage all the way please if you are in this area make your way over here you want more bread from the service all the way to the food you're gonna be impressed and you're gonna feel as if you're at home. read more

Thanks to my friend for suggesting this place. The vibe and staff friendliness are definitely 5 stars! Decor/ambiance is homey, cute, colorful, bright - 5 stars as well. They serve all kinds of hot dogs and sides, even shakes and sandwiches. I ordered their ruff skin dogs (gives you that crunchy bite (all beef) and side of onion rings. You can order sauerkraut, mustard to come with your hotdog or their house sauce and ketchup are just fine condiments. You definitely know their onion rings are not frozen, made from scratch since you get the tip part of the sweet onion as well. My husband got a burger and fries - He said the burger was bland , not cooked on a hot enough grill from the texture and taste of burger. Fries portion was small and just run of the mill taste- Nothing to brag about. We could have made everything better at home . The only positive was that the atmosphere was cute and eccentric. This place is so cute inside! I came in for a quick bite on a Wednesday afternoon. They were pretty empty except for 2 people at the bar. I found the end spot at the bar and decided on a chili cheese hot dog and French fries. I noticed they have "tuff skin" hot dogs and from my understanding it's the hot dogs with an extra thick skin that pops when you bite into it. I'm not a fan of those so I ordered the regular hot dog. I like how all drinks are self serve so free refills and no wait. The hot dog was yummy and the fries were hot, well seasoned and crispy! They're priced reasonably and fast. Check L.A. Dog today with my mom and sister. My sister ordered a hamburger without a bun and really enjoy it. You could tell the burger was fresh. I had the chili dog with fries and I must admit it was one of the best I've ever had. The bun was so soft and the chili was amazing. The fry sauce was also addictive...what is in it?!?! We also got a sample of the chicken salad and cole slaw which we would happily order on another visit. My mom had the sweet potato fries with her chili dog and they were also Great. They would rather stare at you coming in and joke around than take your order. We sat at a table for about five minutes in their empty establishment and was never acknowledged instead the geriatric woman rather played on her phone and laugh with her buddy instead of servicing us. Never had this problem at Perfectly Frank's or Uncle Al's so thank you for showing us who you guys truly are. Their menu stated take out order at register. Dine in sit down and we will come to you or flag us down, lol we were right in front of the server as she laughed it up with her person. So please don't come with that mess. LA Dog is a fun and uniquely decorated burger joint that I used to drive 25 minutes for. It kills me to leave this review because I found this restaurant when pregnant, and it completely satisfied my craving for a good burger. The owner was quite friendly and helpful as I looked through the menu and we chatted for a bit. Later on, I returned with my husband, who fell in love with the bologna sandwich. Fast forward to today, I took my dad there because he loves a good burger. I thought it would be the perfect spot after my first two visits there. The younger girl came out and took our order and was very friendly. I will say my 4 year old is quite the gabber and kept talking to her as she tried to take our order, but she was so patient and sweet with her. About 15 minutes later another woman (not the owner) came out and delivered our burgers. Mine was missing bacon so I let her know and she looked annoyed and said, "It wasn't on your ticket." I said, "Okay, well can I have bacon?" She went and got me bacon and then my dad told her his burger was missing lettuce, tomato, and mayo. She became even more frustrated and explained, "That wasn't on your ticket either!" My dad just looked down because he was so shocked by her. I let her know that I heard my dad order and he did request the other items, in an effort to defend him and then she said, "Well that's considered 'all the way!'" It was like he was being fussed at for not receiving his burger how he ordered it. Her attitude was so cold and annoyed, and she treated us as if we wrote our ticket and messed up our order on our own. I honestly couldn't believe how we were treated over a simple miscommunication and could not wait to leave. We were so uncomfortable. So basically, the food is good and usually, the service is friendly, but the way we were treated today was extreme and unacceptable. read more

Best hot dog place in Hampton Roads! We have eaten here many times, the tough skin hotdogs are my favorite. The restaurant is clean and the prices are good. The milkshakes and crinkle cut fries are our guilty pleasure. This is a hidden gem right in the heart of Great Bridge. The owner is always friendly and treats us like family. I received this response from the owner. I noticed the quality of my food order wasn't mentioned at all: I hate to here that your experience was not what you expected. We strive to have happy customers and would certainly hope that if something was wrong that you would give us a chance to fix whatever is not up to par. It's kinda hard to fix something if you're not told that something is wrong. You work for the city which means you probably received a pay check the entire time during this pandemic, however, I was closed for several months wondering if I was going to be able to reopen or would I LOSE my business! So i chose to work my A$$ off during that time cleaning from top to bottom to make sure that if I did make it that I would be ready to re-open. The trash can was completely empty and the bag was put in incorrectly which I corrected. I would have to do a lot of business to have overflowing trash cans that early in the day. So you say that 14 people is 50% of the capacity of my restaurant? I have 52 seats so you do the math. So you had enough time to take pictures, do a headcount, and write bad review which directly affects my business but not enough time to allow me to fix whatever that was wrong which clearly makes me realize that I'm sooooo glad to be dealing with the public again!!! read more

I have tried to like LA dog, but the dogs are smaller than the buns by a an inch or more. The chili they use is just okay, it's nothing to get excited about and the fries are a very small serving. I think what may be the biggest thing the staff act like you being there is an annoying. There isn't a greeting or an ask how is your meal is or even thank you for coming in. They will just walk by and slap the bill on your table. There are other places to go in Great Bridge for hot dogs that appreciate your business. read more
