One of them let me know they were all waiting because the store was out of rice. Cool, I get it. Busy day and shouldn't be long. Then I heard a worker say 20 minutes. Whatever, I drove around for a bit and then came back. With the number of places to eat I drove past I had many options but Chipotle never does me wrong...until today. So anyways, I come back and there is no one in line. I walk up to the counter and see they have no rice...again. I could see they were making some and they said it would only be a minute. No worries. I get it. So the rice comes and I order a bowl. I ask for black beans and turns out they are out of that too. So the worker recommends the pinto beans and I agree because why not mix it up. Then I ask for the honey chicken. They are out of that too. Ok I'll get steak. Then he also lets me know they are out of cheese. Ok so if you have made it this far they were out of rice, black beans, honey chicken, and cheese. I mean I'm not one to judge but it feels like at this point the McDonald's ice cream machine is more reliable than coming here and getting what I want. The worker was super nice and I could tell he was flustered and kinda frustrated. Idk who is running the place but dang. Well you're probably wondering at this point how was the bowl? First time I've had crunchy rice from chipotle. Interesting way to mix it up but probably would order the soft rice next time. Ya, I know you go for the food but when the entire restaurant isn't maintained (dirty tables, trash everywhere, full trash cans, serving baskets piled high) it makes the food even suspicious. When we went to this new restaurant just off of MSU campus I had my reservations. But let me tell you, it has consistently been one of the best experiences I have known. First, the place is beautiful. Very clean, bright and welcoming. if you're a guy like me, you don't know what's gonna taste good. Each and every time I visited the staff takes as much time as you need to explain what goes into each dish, how to make it better and make you feel like this dish is being made for you. It might be a little more than you would think you'd like to pay, but every bit of it is fresh. And that's worth a lot in this day and age. So if you're on the fence, try this out. Even better, out of the seven times I have been here, a manager has walked up to our table and asked us how our food was. That is a lost art. And it's very well appreciated. Outstanding.
