I think that's partly because there ain't any other decent pubs on queen street (that I can think of) and it means everyone heads here. They also had a number of specials up on the board. I settled on the Louisiana chicken served with sweet potato mash and thyme gravy. The service was incredibly slow - it took about half an hour for any food to arrive and it transpired that we had been given the wrong dishes so we had another wait on top of that. My dish was very tasty - the chicken was juicy and the sweet potato mash was nice and smooth. However, I did feel the portion size was fairly small for the price. There was also an issue with my friend's dish - she ordered a sweet potato salad that arrived without any sweet potato. All in all I found my experience at Ad Lib fairly disappointing and I won't be rushing back.

The Oreo creme pancake was a big disappointment. It was so overly sickly with the whipped cream on top that I couldn't even stomach it. The portion sizes were unreal. The pancakes were bigger than my head!! I'm an absolute gannet and always polish my plate clean but I just couldn't. Probably only managed about half before I started feeling like a lie down! I cannot wait to come back and try some of their savoury options - the grilled cheeses look particularly good!
