What a blast from the past. This mom and pop eatery was definitely a no frills kind of place but we really enjoyed our experience: My SO got a bacon burger combo and I got a mushroom burger. The burgers were freshly made. You can see them cook on the flat top and hear the meat sizzling! They have salad bar set up for your burger toppings like fudruckers had. They also have cheese which was fun to try. The prices are so affordable! The 2 burger combos were less than 30! Now days 2 fast food combos cost around that much and the food here was better quality. The onion rings I ordered were really good. The fries were piping hot with a nice salt level. Being a lifelong burger fiend, I decided it was time for one more burger in my time on this spinning rock in space. So I search up "Burgers near me" into Google and after wading through McDonald's after McDonald's, Burger King after Burger King, and more, Burger Tex was the first non-national joint that popped up. And when I tell you - my vision tunneled and I was transported back to my childhood, Anton Ego style, I unearthed the memory of my Dad taking me here on hot sunny days when I was a kid. I always called it "The Stinky Place" because I believe one time the AC was out and the whole restaurant was stiflingly hot and the grease smoke hung in the air. And like my days of yore, I didn't hesitate walking back in after all this time. The place is so very Texas. No frills, just cozy, with a ton of locals hanging out and noshing some deliciousness together, even at 2 in the afternoon. I bellied up to the register and asked for a double cheeseburger, fries, and a drink, which came out to $12.81. I got some Mountain Dew (PEPSI products at the fountain here), and checked out the fixins bar, which I haven't seen one filled since before the pandemic. They've got jalapeños, onions, pickles, lettuce, tomato, condiments, and a big vat of cheese to pour on your fries! The food came out quick by the same sweet lady who took my order. I ended up with a single patty even though I wanted double, but it ended up being plenty! The fries were good, and seasoned with a little extra somethin' somethin'. They could be fried a little harder, to be a little crispier, but I won't complain because a crinkle is a win in my book. The burger was good! The bun was soft, the patty was ample and cooked so it achieved a bit of a sear on the outside. Turns out, double cheese is a great route to take on this one! Was in the neighborhood and decided to check it out based on the great reviews! The burger was honestly just okay. As many have mentioned, yes, the bun is yummy, but that's about it. The burgers and fries kind of all tasted the same. It was also hot so that was good too. My biggest complaint would have to be the service. I tried to order a kids burger for my kid but received very poor service while doing so. The lady at the front assumed the burger was for me and refused to let me buy a kids meal in the drive thru. She stated that if I bought a kids meal in the drive thru the drink would be left off. ??? Kids meals, she claimed, could only be purchased indoors. My kid's asleep so I'm not sure what she wanted me to do. When I stated that, she tried her hardest to look in my window to see if she could spot a sleeping child. Now you're doing too much. She finally let up and said "just this time" and eventually let me purchase the meal. This was a very unpleasant experience and should never be that serious. read more

This is a very simple place. The exterior makes it almost hard to see as you drive past it and once inside you'll be greeted by a feeling like they've not updated anything since the 80s. Run by the original korean family since way back when they definitely show passion and patience as you come up to order. The food here is good. I recommend the bulgogi burger as it was juicy with the high quality buns that they use. I loved their self serve bar where you can get as many veggies or sauces as you want. The burgers are crazy good. Multiple sizes for all sized appetites. The buns are the best that have ever melted between my gums n tongue. They make them on-site daily and are buttery good and soft - the most airy brioche confection. Old fashioned crinkle-cut fries that are not over-cooked. Very fresh crispy cold iceberg leaf lettuce and sweet ripe tomatoes on the fixinz bar along with jalapeños, pico degallo, sliced pickles and white onions. A nice big pot of hot melted cheese to pour over the fries (or whatever) The fountain drinks are not diluted like so many other places so you get the full Monty on them. I could go on and on about the other items like the chicken fried steak burger and such, but just about everything is really good tasting and fresh. Best part is the super friendly nice lady why runs the place and takes the orders. Went to Burger Tex 7 after seeing the good reviews. Don't fall for it. This place is terrible. I ordered the combo meal. Cheeseburger,fries & drink. Just over $12. The burger is just a cheap store bought patty. Zero taste. I piece of cheap processed cheese, barely melted. Probably the cheapest buns they could buy. The fries were obviously just crinkle cut frozen fries. The only thing that gave it any taste was the pickled Jalapeños I added from the salad bar. Fountain drink was ok. Overall, don't bother. Anything from McDonalds or Burger King is better. If you're looking for a non franchise burger, go to Joy Love or Hippo Burger. Definitely don't go to Burger Tex 7 read more

When you first pull into the parking lot of Burger Tex it doesn't look like much. But the important thing is the food and the service is excellent. Everything is cooked to order it's always hot fresh and it is one of the best hamburgers you can get. It does rival the craft burgers. But it is a basic hamburger but it's done well. They also have fish and other sandwiches and I've had those and they also are as well great. I believe the business is family owned and they are very friendly and quick with service. It was only a few customers when we ordered our food but by the time we sat down the place was about half full. Very popular lunch spot. In my never ending search for a new place that serves aswesome, yummy, juicy burgers, I came across this place in the NW side of town. The first time I ever drove by this place, I didn't think much of it, but then as a good Yelpologist, I had too look it up, right? Well, the day came when I decided to come here and although the place looks pretty run down from the outside, it's clean on the inside. I placed my order for the Bulgogi Buger with cheese and I made it a combo. The total came to around $10 and change. Not too shabby. So I waited a good 10 minutes before my burger actually came out. Pretty reasonable wait time. So when my burger came out, I went to the condiments bar where they had different, well, condiments. You have your tomatoes, onion, pickles, mayo, mustard, etc. Anyway, I put whatever I wanted on my burger and now it's go time!! The Bulgogi burger was awesome. Yes, it's a bit sweet but it's still really good. The homemade bun was just alright, I think. And then I saw the crinkle-cut fries that came with the combo and I bit into it; and I was kind of disappointed because it tasted like fries that came out of the frozen section of your local grocery store.
