This seems to be a Yelp! Favorite! So big bro and I decided to brunch our lunch. Right next to Senate Ave. Brewing, you'll find this neighborhood joint with pizazz! The Rey Mysterio Burrito was alll I ever needed on a Saturday afternoon with a Yellow Rose. Thee egg rolls were fire...literally and figuratively. Hearty portions, great service and a damn fine time to spend outside. Family oriented and quiet space to actually enjoy yourself! Try it! You won't be disappointed.

Walking into this place made me nostalgic and happy. I love the food and the arcade machine. The atmosphere is definitely a breath of fresh air and originality. The prices are great as well as the service. This is my new go to spot.

I came here with my friend for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. Overall, the restaurant is cleaned and decorated nicely. They have a bunch of board games available for people to play and lots of seating space. This is an order first and sit wherever you'd like restaurant. The custom drinks that they have are so yummy and the food overall was really good. I ordered the breakfast platter and everything was great. The potatoes were a little overseasoned but other than that everything was really yummy and I definitely will be coming back.

Came here to satisfy a waffle craving and it did not disappoint. I was expecting just a normal waffle but this waffle exceeded my expectations. Definitely one of the best waffles I've ever had. A little disappointed that they didn't have hash browns but the breakfast potatoes were really good. This is more of a casual place where you order at the counter, but it's very cutely decorated and they have games to play and $1 beers. Service was pretty fast and prices were reasonable.

I've been here several times now and somehow the more visits I've had, the harder it is to rate. Some things have been omg best I've ever had and some are just like a big question mark. Some of my favorites have been: Grilled Chicken Caesar salad (the one offered on Friday-Sunday nights) 5/5 absolutely one of the best chicken Caesar's. The dressing isn't as strong in the anchovy flavor, which I'm typically a fan of, but the dressing still works so well with the salad. It's weird though because the normal daytime menu only offers a fried chicken Caesar. I haven't tried it so can't comment if it's any good. ET special pizza (random availability) 5/5: I absolutely loved this one. It's such a weird combination of toppings-corn, red onions, chicken, and jalapeños-but it works. Margherita pizza 3/5: lacks cheese and just not that special. The only reason this gets 3 stars is their pizza crust is top notch. Thanksgiving sandwich 3/5: all of the ingredients taste super fresh and high quality. But their bread is thick cut to the point it's too much. The fig jam, which tastes phenomenal, has too much to where that's all you taste. Their turkey meat is delicious however. Overall I'd recommend this place. Oh and FYI they have pizza night 5-9PM Thursday thru Sunday. There's always a special pizza but it changes and I have yet to figure out how to find out what it is apart from going there in person. They don't announce it on their website or IG, they don't answer their phone, if you try to order online it just shows pizza special...as somehow who can't eat red meat, that's my one big gripe.

It's been a while since I've been and this remains a bastion of American cuisine at reasonable price! Updated nut allergy warning; Mushroom Pad Thai does have nuts! Order - to - Food: 16 mins for appetizer, 21 minutes for entree. This is way faster than they used to be! And they were busy when I went! I got their new specials, the fried green beans (5/5) and the pork-changa (4/5). The fried green beans were amazing - would replace this compared to French fries any day. The pork changa was perfectly crispy, but the pork belly inside was a bit tough and dry and that made it a little more difficult to eat. My colleagues loved their food and I still highly recommend this as a lunch spot!

I've eaten here a few times now and the food is consistently good. The ingredients are always fresh and the Specials Board stays interesting. Today I tried something off the Specials Board - Smashed Burger Tacos and loved them! My friend ate the Short Rib Ravioli (also off the Specials Board) and was blown away. The flavor was knockout good and the pasta raviolis were perfect. The space is cute with an uplifting and energetic vibe.

As for the latte, a real nice Pandan flavor!

" tea is made actually with water so that explains why it's watery" she proceeded to hang up in my face and ignore any subsequent calls. you always reply , i'm not saying this to tear your business down, I work at an award winning coffee shop that's been featured in the Houston Chronicle and on KHOU 13, during my training I learned how to make all the drinks on our menu which is larger than your own and tasted them all. To imply I simply hadn't had one of the most common tea lattes is rude as you see I am a regular cafe goer. I have made hundreds of teas even london fogs with my own hands! Had complaints and remade drinks myself too. It is the way it was handled on the phone as someone who has worked in customer service for over 10 years , it was very disrespectful. Your going back and forth with me while I share my experience doesn't change that, I know water is in tea that's uncalled for , that doesn't mean this one isn't watery, every barista has rushed and not steeped tea long enough once I wasn't even mad . As for the emptiness of my cup before i went to throw it away, I poured tea out of my cup into 2oz sample cups when I got to my job to ask my coworkers opinion on the drink and if it was made wrong or if I was wrong BEFORE i called. mind you we sell tea, just not blueberry danishes... As a coffee shop employee , I see myself as fueling my patrons for their days and I never disrespect them when they tell me I didn't fulfill my duty properly sorry for thinking you'd do the same You're going to be mad i left this review but when i called, before I thought to review, I started by saying exactly this " I got a drink earlier a London fog and I think it wasn't steeped long enough the tea flavor is just kind of weak its tasting like milk water and syrup, just so the future teas can be better " I always call when an establishment messes up my orders and say the same thing and I'm never met with hostility until you guys, today. I didn't say anything rude or tone deaf and I wasn't yelling in the slightest. I respect cafe employees very much as I am one for 5 years now and I understand the struggles of the job. On the phone, that was hurtful and I got my drink remade off the principle that I paid 27.95$ for my stuff and I couldn't even get a simple sorry. I got the reply I mentioned earlier which upset me because I went out of my way to come spend at your shop when I spend my days making tea anyways, that entitles me to say what I bought from you. Even if you just google London fog and look at the color then look at this you can see it's off. This is me telling the full story since you feel I left something out, I left out that a room full of 5 coffee professionals one of whom being the owner of my shop said the drink was nasty and a waste of money before I called you. AND I wasn't asking for any money back or a new drink when I called. sorry for leaving that out.

It was my birthday but I had a funeral to attend that afternoon. On this particular day, it also was raining, HORRIBLY, so I was really doubting that I would get a chance to do something later, but I decided to see how far Quotes was from the service. Depending on what time we got out, if there wasn't a repase, AND the weather giving me some grace, I would stop by for an early birthday dinner. Thankfully, Mother Nature gave me a break and let me and my Mom enjoy a nice late lunch at Quotes, which not only had delicious food but exceptional customer service. Soon as we came to the front door, it was opened for us to step inside. We were greeted and shown where we could keep our umbrellas if we felt comfortable leaving at the front door. The hostess lead us to a table and asked if the location was okay. Once more, when our servers, Diamond and Ty, came to our table for our drink orders, I was asked if we were celebrating anything. I mentioned my birthday and was later on surprised by a slice of cheesecake. I didn't have the space to even eat it because I was fat full from the food and drinks I had before dessert arrived! First off, we came at a great time because we were able to try their entrees at a discounted price. Even the drinks are discounted during the lunch hour except their signature and customer fav, the lemon drop, with good reason! The flair that it is presented to you is phenomonal, but the taste is exquisite. It was so smooth I had to slow down from drinking it. I'm usually not too big into drinking more than one drink, but it was my birthday and the drink was GOOD, so another round had to be had! I even tasted my Mom's drink to see if there was something else I should try. I ended up sticking with my Lemon drop and the second one did not disappoint. As far as the food, I did ask for suggestions on a few entrees. I ended up getting the fried catfish and grits while Mom ordered the shrimp tacos with a side of asparagus. Although Mom raved about her tacos and even stated she wish she could make them at home, the asparagus was salty to us. We did send it back and in response, Chef Trini came out personally to ensure the second make was to our liking, indicating that the blackened seasoning would be available on the side. Please tell Chef Trini that this was the best asparagus I EVER tasted. It was cooked to perfection and no seasoning what so ever needs to camofluage the fineese that Chef cooked it with. My entree was also delectable and delicious with the marriage of fried catfish and grits smoothered with creole crawfish sauce (say that three times)! I love my catfish fried hard and not salted to death. Quotes presented both and it intermingled with the grits graciously. I couldn't eat the entire entree because 1. It was a big portion and 2. We had enjoyed an appetizer, the spinach dip and cauliflower garlic bread. It is a MUST to have! We are spinach dip fans and Quotes not only has one of the best Spinach Dips I tasted in a long time, but the creativity of making cauiflower garlic bread is chef's kiss. You would not even think you were eating cauliflower. It minds me more of pita bread versus tradional thick garlic bread but the flavor is there and compliments nicely with the spinach dip. Both the appetizer and my entree not only made great evening and next day breakfast meals but tasted even better later and the next day. That's when you KNOW you've eaten some good food- it taste even better later. Even the bday cheesecake was insanely epic the next day. I can't say enough about Quotes. Great service and food as well as beautifully decorated space that truly leaves you inspired. Thank you Quotes- I will be back!

"Celebrating Mama Bear" 04-18-26…read more My family and I visited Cutten Kitchen together for the first time, and we absolutely loved it. My eldest sister was the one who searched for places to celebrate our mother's birthday, and she definitely picked a winner. She felt like this would have been a restaurant our mom would have truly enjoyed if she were still here on this earth, and she got it right. Let me count the reasons why Mama would have loved this restaurant: the aesthetics, the well-seasoned food, the lively vibe, the soulful energy of the atmosphere, and the wonderful customer service. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hostess, Victoria, whose professionalism and mannerisms were spot on. She was so friendly and welcoming. She held the door open for us when we entered, and she even held it open again when we left. Our server, Daniella, matched that same level of professionalism. She was not intimidated or nervous by our group at all. She greeted us warmly, introduced herself, and took our drink and appetizer orders with ease and confidence, which let me know she knew exactly what she was doing. She also offered great drink suggestions that we really enjoyed. I do not want to bore you with a long, drawn-out review, so I'll keep this part simple. The atmosphere is welcoming, with music playing at a nice medium volume through the overhead speakers. The dining room is extremely spacious and clean. Food Ratings: Fried Catfish/Shrimp Platter - 4/5 Both were fried to perfection, with nice crunchy edges and a soft, succulent, meaty texture inside. However, it was a bit too salty for my health. Fried Fish and Grits Platter - 5/5 My younger sister said she could taste the authenticity of Black culture in the well-seasoned grits and she enjoyed them. The CK Burger - 5/5 My son said this burger was delicious, and he tore it up too! The CK Patty Melt - 5/5 My eldest sister said it was delicious and felt like it melted in her mouth with every bite. Salmon Bites Appetizer - 5/5 Fried to perfection and surprisingly not too salty. Fried Plain Wings/Lemon Pepper Wings/French Fries - 5/5 Everything was served piping hot and extra crispy. Deviled Eggs Appetizer - 5/5 Everyone around the table loved these babies. My eldest sister said she did not care too much for the fried chicken tender on top, but overall, they were still a hit. Dirty Rice - 1/5 Too salty and too greasy for my liking. It also lacked the authenticity I was hoping for. Mac and Cheese - 5/5 According to my daughter, the mac and cheese was a 5/5. However, it did have a spicy kick, so my son gave it a 4/5. If you like spicy mac and cheese, then you will probably love theirs. Collard Greens - 5/5 This item stole the show for me. The collard greens were delicious, not too salty, and seasoned just right. Here's the shocker: instead of using pork in their collards, they used turkey neck. I was genuinely impressed because a lot of people believe pork is the only way to get that deep, flavorful taste in greens, but Cutten Kitchen proved otherwise. Blueberry Lemon Drop - 5/5 This drink may seem girlie, but it hit like a man. Sitting Sideways Cocktail - 5/5 This one hits just right and gives you a nice little buzz. Pineapple Upside Down Crown - 4/5 It was a little too sweet and did not have enough liquor for me, but it was still delicious after I poured an extra shot of Crown in it. Overall, Cutten Kitchen is an upbeat, lively, and soulful establishment that offers some of the best Southern cuisine in the area. I highly recommend this place if you love authentic soul food, great customer service, and a vibrant atmosphere. FYI: Parking is plentiful, but it would probably be best to make a reservation beforehand. I have heard this place can get packed.

She was pleasant and did her best, but it took a very long time for her to take our order, and the food took an equally long time to arrive. As for the food, it was a mixed experience. The lamb chops were actually very good and were probably the highlight of the meal. However, everything else fell short. The salmon bites were disappointing, and overall the food seemed to be lacking seasoning and flavor. The cornbread was another letdown. The only sweetness came from the glaze on top--the actual cornbread itself tasted more like a plain muffin with no sweetness or flavor of its own. I ordered the breakfast sampler with grits and eggs, but the grits that were served were heavily seasoned, dark Cajun-style grits rather than the traditional white grits most people expect with a breakfast plate. When I asked about it, I was told that's the only type of grits they serve. If that's the case, there should be a disclaimer on the menu because "grits and eggs" typically implies traditional breakfast grits, not the style usually served alongside dishes like shrimp and grits or catfish and grits. My husband ordered the lamb chops and eggs, my son had the chicken and waffles, and we also shared the salmon bites and cornbread. Unfortunately, aside from the lamb chops, nothing really stood out in a positive way. Considering the amount we spent, I left disappointed. While the staff was friendly and doing their best under the circumstances, the long wait times and lack of flavor in most of the food made the experience underwhelming. I would not return.

They had live music on, and from the looks of it if you want to be a part of the show you can as they also have karaoke it looks like. The gentleman that greeted us was so nice and made us feel so welcomed! It wasn't one of those "oh I have to be nice to these guests because I'm getting paid" type people, you could really tell his niceness was genuine. I felt like I was at a fine dining restaurant. Our server was also very nice, and super helpful as I asked for a wine suggestion and she hit the nail with her suggestion. She brought a small sample for me to try before serving it. The food itself was delicious! We got the onion rings appetizer, and you could tell they were made to order. They were super fresh and also crispy. The chicken parmigiana was good, and they were not stingy with their portions at all. The picture I took doesn't do the dish justice. I will definitely go back to this place, as their food, service and overall experience is a great one when you dine in.

OK, so this turned out to be a surprisingly good meal and much better than we had expected. We…read moredrove into the mostly defunct strip mall, found the restaurant down on the corner, walked in and sat down and then perused the menu in depth. We shared a bowl of the potato soup where we had no expectations and I thought it tasted pretty decent. But the real test was the entrees. Mr. Picky ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp while I opted for Veal Parmigiana, and we each stole a bite from the other's plate. We reached consensus immediately that both dishes were well-seasoned and quite delicious, meaning we would return for more good food in the future. Seriously, we hadn't expected much when walking in and looking around, but were pleasantly surprised at the kitchen's efforts. We finished lunch with an order of homemade bread pudding and tiramisu, the latter of which in 2012 won a chamber of commerce epicurean competition 1st place ribbon. I wasn't there to judge that competition and have had better, but sincerely appreciated the moistness of the bread pudding. While the majority of diners were older and a more mature crowd, there's a lot to be said for value, and we thought the menu price was better than reasonable and I think a lot of people will discover this as a value destination, something we all appreciate.
